I'll start.
My avatar's story's not that impressive. It's just that for a while a lot of my conversations seemed to end in me saying 'laat maar', which is Dutch for something like 'forget it' (lit.:'let it be'). In the end I abbreviated it to lama, Which is a llama in Dutch (duh :bleh: ).
My continued use of this term, and the fact that I actually like llama's, eventually led to me using a llama as avatar.

Oh, and I spit on people. Yes, I really do :bleh: !

It's Nosher Powell, and if you know Nosher Powell and if you know me, you also know that it was inevitable :bleh: ;)

Anyway I've always thought of myself as quite a shy person and I know it to be true. This Avatar seems to represent that quite well, it looks like the person is trying to hide away off the edge of the avatar. Or he is peeking out from the side afraid to join in on the conversation or whatever is going on.

I chose my avatar because i think im so gallant and noble(like a paladin).

I just like John Carpenter's: The Thing. It's one of my favourite movies, and besides I think the poster looks cool.

I think i chose mine bcus its dark and mysterious well and because its the bad guy form the best game of all time

I'd say my first avvy of Samara was more like me.

This one is Pearl Jam's "Riot Act" album cover. The sarcasm of dead skeletons wearing a crown and the song "Bushleaguer" in the album fit perfectly as a critic to society and war.

Whenever I change my avvie, I just go to google images, think of some really weird character and type it in. For instance, some of you may remember i had the hockey mask before this one. I picked it because i had just finished playing 5 days a stranger, the guy with the welding mask inspired the hockey mask. The newest incarnation, Zorg (5th element, remember?) I just got because he is weird. If anybody is wondering about my sig, it is because i think that line is one of the most memorable movie lines of all time. :D

My sig is an attempt to show people fancy, and highly detailed sig pictures are not needed, no matter how nice they look. I actually really like my sig even though it quite plain.

For me it's simply nostalgia. I used to love transformers when I was a little kid. This was back in '86

So sig explanations are also in the game now :D

My sig is my favorite Beatle quote. Just something I would like to remind people of...

Now,i have this sig,because i love discworld books,and colour of magic is my favourite book and Rincewind is my favourite character.

My Avatar and signature are like they are simply because I LOVE FALLOUT. Fallout to me is the most wonderful game of all time. So I made a Pen and Paper game for it (APOCALYPSE, check the sig) and I basically worship it in all ways possible.

My avatar is simple. I'm a real Police Accademy fan... can't you tell?
And my sig... well take a wild guess - the right side of it might be a clue.

Thechosen, you like discworld books?! that is really freaky cause just yesterday i was in the library and i saw a big picture book sticking out of the shelf in the adult section. I pulled it out and VOILA! one of the discworld books. The first time i have ever seen one. they are pretty cool (a little hard to understand, though)

i simply like coping with twisted machines - in fact, my pc's always trying to annoy
me badly, resembling "HAL", so that's why i've chosen this avatar :D

thing is it was obviosly a joke. i dont eat pork. im not 100 percent english either. need i hint more .... i didnt have a problem with the cartman hitler thing as i love that episode and it just shows what a psycho idiot cartman is. thing is anyone from england or europe can say "oh dont glorify hitler, i lost family in the war" but think about it. if they are taking insult to your cartman hitler (a parody) then they are clearly living in the past. if they find that parady offensive they should also find german people offensive.
jewish people love to feel persocuted. i refuse to fall into that catogary. humour is humour. if you had just a swastika as an avatar i would feel threatened as i hate nazis, but cartman hitler ruled!

I'm a quarter German. I'm not sure about the details, but I think my Grandfather fought in the second World War and when it ended he was on a tank or something going back to the nearest military camp, but he didn't want to go there so he asked the driver to stop so he could take a piss behind the bushes and then ran off, to where I do not know. But he ended up in Australia eventually. And I'm quite sure he was on the German side since he is German.

if you think i was dissing germans you didnt read what i wrote properly. i got no problem with germans. i have a problem with people who had a problem with what was clearly a humorous avatar.

I didn't find the avatar in question particularly offensive either, but opinions as to what is "clearly humorous" differ. So it's probably best to choose something which can't be misconstrued quite so easily...

My avatar was chosen because I decided the Patrick McGoohan one was a bit obscure and I failed to get the stills I was trying to get from the film by screencapture so had to settle for downloaded ones.

Love Hina is one of my favorites, and I think the character of Naru Narusagawa in the series really reminds me of me... she's smart, but has her ditzy moments, a little too absorbed in propriety, really shy when it comes to matters of the heart, and she does the whole total geek to normal transformation when she takes off her glasses (like me, hehe), so... there you go. ^_^

Well I chose mine mainly because I'm a Mortal Kombat fan and Johnny Cage is one of my favourite fighters in the game, just the way he acts and such. The sunglasses are a real nice touch, so when I thought up an avie I found the portrait from MK 4 of Cage and boom here it is.

Well. I chose my avatar simply because I like that wicked grin on the skeleton's face. And it pretty much resembles my perspective on life, the universe, and everything; a table and dice and a controller. Put simply; we live on the table, the controller throws the dice, but the table also affect the way the dice roll. Some things are inevitable, some things are things we can change. But everything is chaos. Go the Chaos-Theory :ok:!

... and I got it from the online game "Kingdom of Loathing". It's the skeleton guardian. You have to win a game of dice against him in order to do stuff.

And my sig are the last words from an old japanese samurai theatre-play. I read it in an article of how the samurai-caste arose and fell, and ending it with that quote after a little considering on how the samurai still affect Japan today... It was just brilliance. So I took it. There. I said it. Now excuse me while I don my white karate pyjamas and go practice. The irony is, the first real enemy karate encountered were samurai :whistle:... Invading Okinawa wasn't a good idea, but it turned out good after all. The samurai won. The peasants lost. Yay.

Well, I chose my avatar becouse it's closely resembels me, in a wierd meaning. I'd like to have an avatar like: a big man in dark full robe standing before some mysterious myst, with his face shadowed under his gown. But I cannot seem to be find any like this, and I cannot draw that good :tomato:

Playbahnosh is a rather modified version of the hungarian word "plébános" wich means parson (a kind of priest). The spelling of these words are almost similar in Hungarian, so many people laughs at it :D . I think I chose this becouse I like to help people where I can. It's just me. But I don't like them to see me. So you know why is what I written above about my wanted avvie.

I have this avatar specially chosen because I said...I should get an avatar..and I saw this one and went..that will work and left it and now I just won't change it because I don't feel like looking for something better and since no one else is using the same one it gives me an identity

I think that for a lot of people, they just choose an image that they find 'cool' and then stick it to the side of their posts, but some put a lot of thought in/make it really artistic.

My avatar is part of a series I made based on some weird "super-hero" I've been drawing mainly on school books and desks for 5 years. I actually change it sometimes (tho it's been the same one for a while now), anyway it's not difficult to recognize me because they're all made with the same style and the character stays the same with some minor differences.

Here's a full, refined version of it, awesomely (it fits) digitally inked and colored by Taikara.

My avatar has been derived from my signature banner. I always liked Terminator, and I had a crazy idea to take a screenshot from an old Terminator 2 PC game, change it to green-scale first (you can't imagine how hard was it to do right) and then make the thing into my avatar.
Sort of gives me a creepy attitude, I guess.
