Reunion
This game is good on stratagie in some aspects. But the one thing I always disliked was the way they forced the game to end.Because you haft to attack, you just can't keep a sizable defense force to thwart attacks. The computer will soon build a force that you just won't have resource to build. But that is the last race any way.
|
Hmm, strange. Never even heard of this game. I think this is so far the only game on Abandonia I hadn't heard about before.
Also, something like 90% of Abandonia's games I had played myself before I even found the site. (What do you mean 'nerd'? :P) |
umm... how exactly do you devolop wepons and getting to other sol systems?
cuse in the game I just played I had about 4 minning planets and one new colony and I still could not reserch anything like wepons or travel to anather system an them so goddamned aliean race (the mougalans or something sorta like that) came and said somthing that was not understandable and then.......... they killed me! so what do I do!?!? :( |
I hate this game!
It's so hard to play, but it's so good |

Well i started plaing it and i have one question.
Where is janonian base? :? i don`t get it. The morgruls are destroing it all the time and i don`t wana that to happen :x i beted theyr fllet in jade(haven`t noticed them anywhere else) and after some time i got messege that they destroyed janonian base and are going to atack me. Is there a way to prevent it? |
How did you say you got the game to work woth XP???
When i try to run it...., just pops up and the gone again in a sec. Peter |
Quote:
You can click on the link on this site to download it. |
I got the DOSBOX working. Great indeed. Now i finillay can
revive the good old "DOS-DAYS" with this game. Thanks Peter |
No problem :D
Have fun! |
How do you get wepons.....
|
Research?
|
I tried but I cant start Reserch on any wepons and i don't know how to let it let me
|
U see, when the game starts u just have an undeveloped colony.
With time, new colonies, and new alien encounters u will start "getting some". But, it'll require some time! When you have researched ALL the colonial items, u'll discover the Jadeonesians who'll supply you with your first fighter. From there the game just gest better and HARDER. Have fun with this good old dosgame. Peter |
This is a great game i used to love playing it. I cant remember if I have ever finished it thouhg (I have the felling that i didn't). I also remember it having some serious flou in it, can't remember what it was though so I guess I'll have to d/l and see for myself (again ;)
|
Strange I can't seem to conquer new colonies. I kick the crap out of the Morgoules on their starbase in mirach but I don't know how to engage them on the ground. I carry couple of tanks and troopers with me and try to land on their home world or atteck their star fleet. but even if I win it won't atteck them on the ground, WHY OH WHY I ask?!!?! (I even tried landing on the main on jades main planet since theres a base of them there but instand of me starting to blast all sorts of morgules arses nothing happend :( )
So if anyone can help PLEASE do so I need to finish this game today (got an exam t study to tomorrow hence the regid time limit :) ). |
I played this game some years ago and so only think i can remember is that it was really frustrating to die in the end because of this enemy alien race with much more ships then me... impossible to beat. :(
|
Quote:
You had to take out all the ships first, then you attacked again in ground combat mode, where the tanks would meet head on. If you won that one you conquered the colony. Also you have to build on some planet where your base will be destroyed by radiation, but you'll get som kind of shield from it which lets you build in unfriendly enviroments. Aaaargg.. that's all I remember, sorry  My memory's good, just very very short... :D |
Yaeh u are right man, I figured it out like to secs after my poste. Still havent finished the game though, I've bulit quite a big fleet and went for the morgules but couldt take their home world since they have a zillion airplanes and i dont have even one (dont know how to get them). So i just took all their colonied and wiped out their fleet but they still coming from me with even stronger forces and that don't make much sence now does it?
anyway I guess I'm stuck ! Also I have too many colonies now and those snooty bastards keep crying that they need a hospital, or their starving, or somone drunk their milk and ate their cookies. so I just run around from planet to planet putting out fires like every 2 seconds and that's not much fun. |
u got into the galactic map when ur on the morgul planet and click ur fleet, a new ground attack button should apppear :)
P.S. for morgul fleet 6 when you are massing ur army you should have like 300 starhunters, dont waste ur time with destroyers itll only get you killed. |
greetings...i would like to know should any of you managed it how to develop aircrafts....i've haven't played the game in several years but i remember that whenever i finished it i always leave two projects to develop...one is the aircraft and the other i don't know....yet i never seemed fo find out how to develop them.can you help????anyone???plzzz????thnks
|
You can research the plane after you destroy the morgules on mirach 3.
|
This game I finisher about 9-10 years ago on Amiga.
Great game at the time, and if I good remember, it's event trigerring, so nobody will attack you till you don't do some things... Not sure if DOS version has the same ending, where you can HIRE somebody in the bar to kill other guy. :) |
I GOT FIGHTER PLANS AND BUTIL 20 of em
but i got no design for lasers ???!?! i played game a long time before but i ask u how do i get lasers ?? i can't fight morguls without lasers i got me pissed of very much!! arrrrrrrrg i got that bad ass scientist (the best) and best pilot, lots of resurces, people love me but i dont have any lasers to put on my fighters so they are usless. :ranting: :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: morguls will destroy me again. :help: :help: :help: :help: :help: |
HELP!
anyone ? |
I have not play that game in 9-10 years (it's being that long ago  ), so I can't help ya, as I don't remember.
I know that there where some things you had to do in the order to get some of the things. (like colonize some planet or discover...) |
Have to say it was quite an amazing game, finished it, though it took a while.
Don't know if there is a Reunion II available as was said in the end-credits. Searched everywhere but could not find it. Anyways, great game, great site. |
hm, this game realy does look interesting, ill probably play it!!:ok:
|
Many people have problems with this game, me too! I´ve found some great hints here
http://dlh.net/chtdb/chtview.php?lan...=pc&disp=e4005 So after reading this all the problems were gone, BUT it is still a HARD game witch MUCH micro management. But it´s great. |
does anyone know if the reunion 2 ever came out
|
Quite sure that it didn´t /-
|
Wael's right. As I recall, the game was distributed by a Texas publisher, Merit Studios, that had a lot of front money. But when big returns didn't materialize on the initial products, they started releasing some really sleazy stuff. I remember a shooter where the aim was simply to kill as many Arabs as possible. It was disgusting. :tomato: The Hungarian developers, Digital Reality, also turned out Imperium Galactica II, which they stopped supporting within a few months of release. I've seen nothing else from them, since.
|
Attacking is: Scouting by spy satellite, additional scouting by spy ship. right after at Planet info screen the Morgul Picture appears (planet owner), left-clicking on the own task force (10 hunters, 30 Fighters and 5 Destroyer did well, hell o' Tanks ~ 200 required, maybe even more, troopers as well) in system view will trigger a rifle - icon when being in system view. clicking on it opens the battle, defeat the remaining spacecrafts (even after destroying them in "Round 1" there are still some left) and your landing party will be deployed automatically.
Still wondering what i did wrong, somebody got useful hints? :) PS: no point in defeating the 4th Mogrul wave. Just too many of them. Some1 did it, PLEASE tell me how. successful invasion of Mirach III best by 3 to 4 months beyond date of 3rd Mogrul wave. |
Build as many military as you can after you defeated the annoying Morgal suckers. And do NOT explore the 3 new Systems before your fleet contains at least 200 Hunters 100 Starfighers and about 20-30 Destroyers + 300 Tanks, maybe some Troopers, and eventually many Aircraft if you found it on the Morgal planet (getting the Aircraft is luck, they say when the Morgals are using it you get it but you never manage to survive long enough to let it develop them) Then explore the three new Systems and let the spy locate the homeworld of each race of the fu**** league and destroy them immediately. After destroying the last race you should get cooridantes for 2 new systems but that never happened in my game so i gave up and deleted it. Maybe ´cause i used one of the trainers do get the Aircraft or cause i destroyed not the league leading race at last.
|
So how do i launch a space station? i have about 6 space station and nothing happens
|
PLZ HELP ME!!! Im getting copyright protection every few minutes into playing the game. I downloaded the manual to try and find the words/codes but can't get anywhere with it. Does anyone know where i can get these codes from?? Also...is it because of my XP that im not getting this long intro that the reviewer speaks of? Cuz when i start Reunion, after intro credits it jumps str8 to the title screen.
|
Sorry people! disregard my previous mesage. I already found the copy protection codes in a manual on a different website. But as for the long intro...anyone have any ideas?
|
I remember from the couple of times loading this game on my machine that your sound settings can stop the intro from playing properly - play with them and see if that has any impact.
The hardest thing for me to accomplish was to defeat the Morgruls, because no matter how hard I tried to build up my resources, I would never have enough fighters to take over their uber-fleet. So all I would do is have a fleet large enough to destroy their homeworld's picket of fighters shortly after their main force departs for your homeword. Slow the speed right down and attack again and again. Now I say again and again because being poor humans I can only afford about 40 tanks to take along, far less than the morgrul force. However, you can retreat instantly at any time. Set up your tanks in an echelon like thus Code:
* BB Eventually you will fritter down their forces to a manageable size. Take the colony and celebrate because the hardest part of the game is over! The second big tip. Once you have defeated the Morgruls, it is best if you do not go exploring the new systems. This will trigger new game events and you might not be ready for them yet. If you stay put you can consolidate for as long as you need. |
I started the game and in the very beginning (one mine building on Apollo) the game crashes when I visit the informer in the space local.
exit to dos and says: "can't find \alien\alien69.pic anyone had this problem too? know how to solve it? maybe the file on this website is incomplete since there seems to be a missing file. love this game! |
For the people who want to know how develop the first weapons.
The first weapons you get from the Jenossians, you can´t develop alone. To contact the Jenossians, as soon as the planet Jade becomes visible to your astronomers send a TRADE group there. (not a satellite carrier). The Jennosians will make contact with you and offer you an improved trade ship. Later they will offer you an artifact for a price. Take it. It turns out to be a hyperdrive unit. When they contact you about helping them fight the morgals agree to help. There is not much that you can do, but they then give you the plans to the Hunter and the Laser Cannon. Simple, but i remember the first time i played reunion.. I taked a long time to discover this alone hehehehe good game... for all ICQ - 84234991 msn- bogdanbarros@hotmail.com |
*Edit*
Ok so I re loaded the game, got the communicator researched *before* the first incomeing transmission, and just fast forwarded too see if I got that you cant understand message again, and didnt, I was able to talk to them. Point being, I found out you dont have to actually *build* a communicator, once you have it in the buy menu, it works.... I was trying so hard to buy one I didnt fast forward to see if I needed too. |
i've played the games some years ago... and never menaged to finish it :(. Everything because i haven't the code that you have to enter after getting to solar system 7(i think it was 7) and the only thing i could do was to attack this race that has sooooooooooooooooo many ships and soooooooooo big ground army that it's is almost impossible to beat them :(. Any suggestions?
|
I can't get past the copy protect. Can someone post the answers, or a link to where they can be found?
Thx |
Try downloading the manual.
|
Isn't there a patch.exe or sth. like that to bypass the protection?
|
Help needed!
I know how to place mining stations at planets, but i dont get it how to build up a real colony at other accomodable planets. I tried everything, but cant find the way. Maybe one of u can explain how to colonize planets? thank u very much |
Quote:
|
Guardian,
to the best of my knowledge, the moment you put your first mining station on a planet that is suitable for living, the colony is invented that you then can research. When you've done this you can go to your starmap and the 'build colony' option will appear (after of course you have found the planet in question to be suitable for living by investigating it with a sattelite). |
In this game you either play with a walkthrough, or you save+reload a lot, because there's so many things you can miss or react wrong to a scripted event. That's what makes it so hard but also interesting to play.
|
I'm just wondering about something, and i hope someone is able to help me with it..
I played (and finished) this game several years ago and i decided to take it up again since i loved it so much...im fighting the league atm (even though ive only had one attack so far, im starting to think i did something wrong cause i forwarded in time a LOT and i didnt get any subsequent attacks) and i still havent been able to get the spy ship developed...even when my researcher has 9 'skill points' in all 4 areas it stil wont develop :( im starting to think im missing out on some designs that way... has anyone else experienced this problem? |
Man, this is pure nostalgia. I was hooked on this game almost ten years ago.
|
I just finished this and even managed to gain all the techs.
Very neat game, artwork very foreign, a cool storyline, but with horrible micromanagement. Pointless, horrible micromanagement. Why can't my ships bring me ore automatically? Arrrugh! Still if you make a huge pile of trade ships, enough to transfer 120k at a time, it doesn't make you want to tear out your fingernails along with your hair. Advice if you're not getting all the techs, particularly aircraft: wait for the opportunity to split the League, and pick the "good guys" as your allies. The opportunity to split the League arises as a result of good intelligence and an earlier act of kindness. Advice on building the model army: never stop building Twin Lasers. Keep 100 queued up, so that even if you go on a colony-building binge production doesn't stop. For most of the game this single component will dominate your military build decisions. With ground forces the higher tech item makes the lower totally obsolete. Tanks are so superior to APC's there is no reason to waste Energon on APC's. Aircraft are so superior to tanks there is no reason to waste Twin Lasers on tanks. Missile Launchers are so superior to Aircraft there is no reason to waste Twin Lasers on Aircraft. In space you want the biggest ships you can build and still utilize all your Twin Lasers. That means a mix of Starfighters, Destroyers, and in particular Cruisers, as plasma guns build very fast. If you have Energon left over, build Hunters, but only arm them with lasers. Your Twin Lasers are too important to waste them on inferior ships. Someone here said Destroyers were worthless. Not true. They are a means of trading Energon for Twin Lasers. Build them when you have a surplus of the former relative to the latter. There is a limit to the number of buildings you can build. Never build on a planet lacking Energon, unless temporarily to bulid an Observatory. To kill a colony destroy all buildings, max the tax rate, and let it revolt. Speaking of Energon, these colonies have it: Amnesty: Apollo, Mir, Jade, Russell Phoenix: Phoenix 2 Mirach: Mirach 3, Mirach 4 Moon 1, Orionis: Orionis 2, Orionis 3, Lyrae: Lyrae 5 Moon 3, Lyrae 7 Sol: Mars There are also remote mining sites, but there is a bug that makes remote mining almost useless: you cannot load a ship's cargo hold with more than the max capacity of the mine. In the case of remote mines, that means 10,000 units. Worse still, if you already have more than 10k in your cargo hold and click on either the loading or unloading button the cargo hold quantity will be truncated to 10k! To load from remote mines you have to visit them first, but stop once you reach 10k and load the rest from colonies. |
Hi all! This is my first post so here goes nothing...
I love this game! (For about 8years only though because i only got it a bit later than it got out.) First to help someone who asked hot to skip the intro, at the time on my 386 I used to click esc and press with my right mouse button exactly when the letters started (slightly before the character chosen disappeared if starting a new game) not always worked though. To people trying to find the aircraft, nostalgicus is abolutely right (actually a gree with most of the tips he (or she?) posted), and I personally only got it after i got allied a particular league member (only say which if you ask for it, don't want to spoil the fun) though for some problem in my game i never finished the game with the aircraft tech, because after i got it, a bug stopped me from finding info on one of the league member's collonies. Though if you build about (and it takes alot of time!!) 2000-3000 tanks you'll be able to finish the league without the aircraft (i did it that way the first time i finished it) There's a rumour that if you kill the morguls when they have the aircraft you'd get it too, well i did that several times and never got it that way. In fact with the time lost to accomplish that i ended up not getting the pirate ship (not that it's a big loss coz i never used it anyway except to get the Morgul at the bar). About the twins, i prefer to equip everything with them, even the smallest hunter is usefull, though later on, i wouldn't change my missiles for anything on my cruisers and destroyers. Also, i never saw the need to build more than 2 or 3 space stations (and certainly not at once), because energon and detoxin are really tooo precious to waste around. For those with trouble at first, instead of building your first base in the Moon Appollo, build your colony in Zeus->Penelope instead, you get the rainium and the texon all at once for the upcoming battles (and with 9droid miners, you'll never need another one for those 2 again) and that way you'll save money for weapons against "the waves" of course you'll need Appollo as well. Jade is just great, don't forget to get it as soon as possible! Keep your colonies on High taxes (and lots of hospitals + 1 of each recreational buildings) some can even go as very high, and still being sympathetic towards you like that. One last note, (and this is a thing i think it's not very good in the game) focus your atacks on main bases only (unless you need the planets their collonies are in) as a defeat of their control center is the end for that race. (btw, i once defeated the wave that attacked the Janosians - with 30 hunters fully equipped and the most expert fighter and pilot, but nothing happened it said they were destroyed as well, guesses it was part of the game) Take care you all |
Wondering through here again I realized I forgot another tip.
Try to get the best of all the advisors very soon (I get them almost all as soon as the game starts, but then I get on a high pressure to do things, of course), specially your Fighter and Developer (this one because then you don't need to wast more money to "upgrade" it nor lose time at the university inbetween fights until much later). This because the fighter's ability is shown in your experience points, and even though all battles get you experience points, if you get a unexperienced fighter and later hire the best one, you'll lose all the points gained in the previous battles, while if you get the best one first, you'll never lose any experience points and they really help in many air battles. Plus another tip, for those that can't defeat the morgruls in air battles, you can always "hold them" in your ground battles (till a certain time) by building 10-11troopers (i varies a bit but most of the times i don't move my troopers, i won with only 10) and later with the tanks (not sure which wave it was because i don't do it like that anymore, but i used 30 tanks, but i'm not sure if inbetween there is also another battle with troopers or tanks, as i'm almost certain i used 21 troopers once in a battle) anyway, this allows you to move your air fleet away from the main base, and keep building a bigger fleet (assuming you have the right resources) so that when the huge wave arrives you have enough troops to defeat it in the air, as well as all other was (providing you keep building the fleet) and then many tanks, to defeat the morguls when they get the aircraf. Personally it's not a good way to play it, but it can take the pressure out of you at the beginning and allow you to make more colonies thus getting lots of money. Kodiakai |
I just cant get the aircraft
Which league member are u refering to? Lampyridae |
Oh and in my game the Kalls didnt die..thats normal?
|
To bypass the copy-protection, you need the manual. I?ve found 2 different versions, and either of them does me any good. Any idea where I can get a proper manual that actually works ?
Please email me on the matter, as im not sure if i will come by this site in some time. arkhan@pc.dk |
You don't heed the manual. Just run patch.exe (or sth. like that) and that will disable the copy protection.
|
Kalls are opportunists. If they don't ally with the Morgruls they won't turn against you by themselves.
Putting TL's on Hunters takes them away from the more useful fighters, that's why I only arm Hunters with basic lasers. Remember that the size of your navy is entirely dependent on your TL production, and that Starfighters are maybe 20 times better than Hunters, so it's 20 / 4 = 5 times better to use your TL's on Starfighters. Either the "sow dissention in the League" mission trigger has a random element or I don't know exactly how to trigger it. I've played through twice more, and although I got full intel (spy sat + ship + manned visit) on all alien colonies I was never offered the mission (or able to offer the mission). It takes 6 groups, total 181 tanks, to have a reasonable chance of winning against 8 aircraft. You can do it on 4 (121) if you keep reloading until you get lucky. (The single leftover tank is a decoy -- move it behind the others and the enemy will likely charge your line of 30-tank groups to get to it.) Here's an exploit if you hate trucking minerals around all the time: if you hit the clock accelerator while on the "transfer" screen, mineral production gets supercharged. You can get a full load of Energon from Russel in a very short time just by spinning the clock while the transfer screen is up. I don't so much use this feature to cheat as to avoid the boring, completely pointless supply runs that take up so much of the mid-game. Destroyers are easy targets for ground-based defenses. You need a few for their hyperdrive, of course, but you might consider keeping the rest you build in New Earth's defense fleet or only using them in engagements in open space. (Actually whoever said not to build them was right. Who wants to build a TL-armed ship that's only useful for defense, when you could use the TL's on fighters good for everything?) |
hello.. i like so much this game, i´ve played a lot of times when i was younger.. but i´m trying to make it works today but it doesn´t..
what is that dosbox that i´ve listened about in some topics? i´ve a pentium IV with win xp and i can´t execute the game Please,Help!!! |
Dos Box is a program that emulates the proper conditions for old games to run.If you have a good PC, then Dos box is your program ;)
|
thanks a lot!!! and do you know where i can get it?
PD:sorry for my horrible english |
|
I´ve just finished the game, :Brain:
but I missed two technology, the airplane and another on, any one have an idea of what i missed? Also there's a Eran in the bar, and a bounty hunter, is there any way to use them ? |
Hey :bye:
I've finishied this game couple of times, but the game always quit when i discover earth. I dont know, is this really the ending, or is it a bug  Anyway reunion is one of the best games i've ever played. Some say that imperium gallactica and master of orion are similiar, but i'd rather play reunion 2 |
great game :)
I remember playing this a long time ago. One of the times I played it, there was a bug with the Destroyers, so when I started building destroyers, I got 9999999999999999 of them for free! :D The only problem was that they didn't have weapons, so most of them were cannon fodder, but it still looked VERY cool on the battle screen :) |
Ok i only just completed the game a couple of days ago, after ten years of battling it. No joke i've been playing since i was six which was in 1996, my dad couldn't find the Jannosians but after a single hour i had already met the Morguls. i gradually got bored but i have come back ften to see if i could get just a little further.
To meet aliens u have to send ur Trade group to the aliens world, then a mesage will come up that u have met them. To those who have also finsihed does anyone know about Reunion 2?? |

From wat Google tellls us of Reunion 2, i know as much as follows.
It was not going to be called Reunion 2 It somehow continued the story of Reunion since Reunion 2 wasn't actually goignt o be called Reunion 2 the best chance we have of finding it is by looking for other games made my Grandslam (The publisher) |
Greetings all
The Intro doesn't seem to appear. And I've tried all the soundblaster modes - the others have no sound so I esc out - This leaves me feeling very lost. I get the Gamstra??? logo with the @, the cool cyborg and the big purple face with credits. Then it goes to New Game, Load game and Exit. New game lets me choose the hero and then I am stuck in that room. What should I do? Someone posted this query previously but I didn't see any reply other than to 'change soundrivers?' I have a sneaking suspcion that the Intro only appears under the Gravis? Please let it not be so - because no sound.... Thanks Raphael |
Since I posted yesterday, I figured out what was going on. The problem was not with my sound drivers but with the fact that Reunion apparently uses a full qouta of XMS/EMS to play the intro.
If you don't have that configured in your DOSBox (VMS is not an option) it won't run the intro. Also note that it won't work if you use the -loadfix option (it needs ALL the memory). I found it still a little slow but viewable (running at 6k cycles/2 f-skips. 3k is too slow. For some people they may be able to run it a little faster but I only have a p3 600 with Win Xp so more than 6k makes the sound stagger, even with frameskips) I hope this helps others with similar problems Regards Raphael |
Thanks for the info
|
i remember when i played this game back in 1995 that the readme (or sumthing like it) described this game as finishable in 48 hrs[b] anyone been able to do this??? :D |
Where can i download a manual for this game?

How to gain a "Ion Cannon" and the "Air Craft"?
The Undorling are supposed to give you the stuff. First, you got to help the Erans. Meet them with a Trade ship or a fleet ( as you wish ). Send sattelites on Antares 2 and on the moons. Build a colony on moon 1 or 2 ( check your analysis ). Construct windtap, building and especially the observatory; it will tell you if the sun is going supernova. After a moment, you learn that you got to send spaceship to evacuate your colony, do so ( just use one of the same ship as above and go at your colony, I use the trade ship ). The Erans will learn about your moving and will want to talk to you. Help them. Then meet the undorlings ( they have a comet as a symbol ). Go at your bar and talk to the Eran, and ask him to use his ability to shapechanging on the Undorling and wait his success. Not only the Undorling will quit the league but the they will give the plans you're looking for but you'll the reasearch them though. I don't think the aircraft is a random invention, I already knew in a magazine that the Undorlings give you some stuff. The Ion Cannon will give you extra defense on your planet. |
help! i keep running short of money in this game!
how should i tax my people? and how many colonies should I build before going hyperspace? |
any news?
|
arghh. does any know the correct way to get destroyers?
i can't get them despite fast forwarding for about a year! my fighters are now stuck in this one system and i keep getting wiped out by the damn mogrul fleet Help! thanks Stoma P.S. Great site!!! |
AT LAAAAAAAAAST I FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FORGET ITS NAME, BUT NOW I HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEA!!!! :Brain: |
Hello there!
I have a problem. The game runs just fine, no problem there. But the intro runs soooo bad. That sound halls like in a great hall and is much slower and nearly not understandable. I am using Dosbox0.63 and any other game, and Reunion ingame runs just great. Any ideas what i can try to watch the intro with full quality? Thank for your help. |
ive tried installing reunion in dosbox but it keeps saying that install is an illegal command.what should i do??????
|
Most of the games on abandonia don't need to be installed. You simply need to extract (unzip) them and run them to play!

I remember playing Reunion ages ago and enjoying every minute of it... but the copy I had would always crash at a certain point no matter what I did. Has anyone played all the way through a copy downloaded from this site? |
I really like this game. But i always loose when aliens attack with all their army (after finding the first terran ship on the second solar system). I've got big battlecruisers, but he always destroy me! How can i beat him plz ?!
|
Hi. After reading this forum, i played and ended the game for the eleventh or twelveth time... Reunion is without doubt one of the best games ever! Although i've played so many times, i never did ger the airplane or the ion canon... Does anyone knows how to split the league?
I save the Erans, meet all the races, but nothing else happens... Does it have anything to do with the fact that the kalls join the morgrulls? I'm out of answers for this problem. Cheers. LF |
Sorry for my weak english. :tomato:
It's good to see you rated this game so highly. I played it for the half of the story when it has been released, but a hardware failure kept me from continue and finish. Later I was following the developers with attention - they deserve it. The theme of galactitc colonization and war continued in this games: Imperium Galactica I -II - III and recently Haegemonia. But I suggest to take a look at another strategy game - S.W.I.N.E. . It's look like child's play, but I'm sure you wouldn't find it as easy-as-a-pie. |

Does anyone know, can you play this game on Windows 2000? If you can, how can you do it?
Thanx |

Is anyone know, when "the Explorer I left the Earth" ? |
you can find it in the manual :)
2575: Two fully equipped research ships leave Earth. Their brief is to find other Earth type planets suitable for colonization. Each ship is sent to a different initial destination and carries a crew of 1500 people. |
Hello!
I've got a problem right on the Start. I've built 18 Satellites and 18 Satellite-Carrier and 4 Miner Station and 4 Transfer Ships But how can i send these to Planets and Moons? :help: Thanks for Your answers MK |
I been looking all over the place for this game and its right here on the net!!!
Show me the ads ill click till im dizzy!!! |
Guys,
The trick to winning reunion is by being a logistics expert. In this game you use the logistics theory of constraints (TOC) to win. That means you have to build your defences non-stop, and as soon as you run out of something (like money or certain ores), you have to increase supply of that. As soon as the flow of this money or ore is increased, you have another constraint you must solve. And so on. The trick is to find out ahead what will be your constraint in the future, and act upon it now. This post will help you with that. Now let me tell you the optimal logistics strategy. Your first constraint in time is money. Solutions are simple. 1. Dont spend too much money on advisors. It does suck that you throw away experience points by having to hire a new one each time. But your PRIMARY CONSTRAINT is money. Not advisors. Hire and upgrade as little as possible. 2. Increase taxes. In New Earth you can put the tax on very difficult and still have neutral men. Your colonies will grow slower, but your PRIMARY CONSTRAINT is money so they have to deal with it. 3. Build colonies. It sounds strange since they cost 100.000, but it increases your taxes dramatically. You have to have one or two before the Jenosians are killed. Build on Penelope and Vostok or more, and your money problems will be in the past. Dont bother with the colonies unless they demand buildings, and dont start building mines and stuff. Just a control centre and maybe living space with high tax. Dont forget to put down a mining station on Penelope before a colony!! Other constraints will come around the time you have received battle plans for hunters from the Jenosians. You have to keep hunter production on at all times. You have now sufficient money but are constrained by ores. 1. You are not constrained by texon and raenium, since you have a mining station on Penelope. This is more than enough for production. 2. You might be constrained by energon. For the solution you have to develop the spy sattelite and put it on Russel (Jade). Build a colony there and do start building mines and stuff. If you build 9 of them, your energon problems are over. 3. You might be constrained by detoxin. For this, build many derricks on New Earth until your constraint is money again. Build many power plants to make sure derricks work at 100%. This for me is usually the end constraint, for which there is no solution. Other planets besides New Earth can never equal detoxin production, so a derrick is most efficient at New Earth at 7 t\p. However, by then I am usually producing hunters non-stop, so this constraint only starts acting up again when I have to build a space station. If you follow these rules you have ship production flowing like crazy, so you will have around 100 hunters for the second mogrul invasion, and it will be easy. After defeating this invasion you have to start planning to build a destroyer to go to the other solar systems. Keep up your hunter production until the third invasion. After defeating the third, you have to start building battle tanks along with the ships while kicking mogrul behind in space at their home planet. Depending on the mogrul ground forces you can ground attack them before or after the fourth invasion. Mind you, the fourth invasion is huge. By viewing this game (and other resource based games) as constraint optimization, you will focus on the problems that are relevant and find solutions for them. This makes the games much easier. Great thing about Reunion is that if you dont follow these rules it kicks your behind! In other games you can sometimes get away with a suck behind resource collection by having a sound fighting strategy. Reunion, however, is all about the resources. Have fun! |
Hi,
someone get another lanuguage than english to run? i´ve tried to get german version to work, still with "setup d" and or "start d" but its still english, someone has a reason why? Greetings Gabriel |
Hi all,
I have downloaded the game and started playing. So far so good. the problem is that i cant explore the artifact from the jaanosians and get hyperdrive for my hunters and Spacefighters. Other thing that is not right (according to the messages here in the forum...) is that the Jaanosians dont die at my game. I kill the Morgul and hold back their combined attack with the Hull. From then on - nothing. I cant go to other systems besides phoenix and i am stuck. Any suggestions??? |
Hey!
The thing about jaanosians, is wicked, as they must die. The best thing is to start the game over. To get the 3. system you must defeat the morgals on Jade i think. Good luck! |
hi all .
plz can somebody help me with this dosbox i cannot configure it to play reunion and i asked some friends for help but thet also cannot help me with this i start the game until i can choose my hero man/female after this the game crashes to desktop :wall: i played this game when i was a kid ( copy off the game ) and i never got any further then the protection cuz i did not have it now i got the protection for playing the game and i cant work with dosbox to acually play this if anybody can help me extremely meany thanks greetz terrormaster win XP home edition pentium 4 3.06 gig version 2002 service pack 2 g-force 5600 140 gig hard drive 1000 mb ram |
The game is awsome, but...
I found one terrible bug in it, which made me stop playing. When I sent my powerful fleet 250 Hunters 200 FIghters and 44 Destroyers I lost 40 destroyers in a ground attack with no defensors (no enemy ships) - this is odd :eeeeeh: |
Quote:
Anyway, I created long time ago a trainer to put many destroyers, guns, etc. on the saved games (if you have developed the technology), I share this with you: http://www.hackcraft.com/gamezone.html It runs on D.O.S. mode, run the trainer with your saved game and you get the weapons :) Feel free to contact me if you have any problems with the file: hugomartin @ telefonica.net.pe |
This is soo evil, I can't seem to get the communicator developed before the jenosans try and talk to me, I then get the Jenosians hunter and laser plans but I can't go into hyperspace or anything!
HELP! |

does anybody have a summary of all new researches with: when get i the new research an what must i do for it?
|
THis IS the best game ever
but hard though |
Yet another question about the aircrafts. ;)
I helped Erans and so I have one of them in the Pub. But when I talk with him he always tells that he's just drinking and I'm not sure how can I make it possible to use him in dividing the League. I know I did it somehow when I played it on Amiga a few years ago. Well... Maybe I'll try to send satellites to every planet and moon and see if it triggers this option. If anyone knows more about please let me know. p.s. Sorry if my english isn't correct. |
Doctadeth: The Janosians will ask if you want to buy an artifact the function of which their scientists cannot discover. After some time your scientists will find that this is a hyperdrive.
And a little something about playing this game in XP. You don't need a DOSBox to do this. Simply create a shortcut to start.exe, enter his properties and change all memory settings to automatic. |
the music (steal the sky) is good

I am impressed that there is still an active community behind this game.
I am trying to do a little research and do a compendium of sorts. I am trying to gather up all the details about the game, do some analysis and put it in a PDF format. I have cataloged all of the planets and moons in the Amnesty system including whether it is habitable and the ptp per mineable goods (including Detoxin). I am working on a list of buildings and equipment. Some information that is noteworthy is the Derrick can store 5000 units of minerals while the Mine can store 10000 and the Storage Building can sore 20000. The storage building has a better ROI for mineral storage than the other due to the cheaper power expense. What about the trade ships? What is the pirate ship useful for? Why arm trade ships with lasers, twin lasers and missiles? I am working on the cost per ton of capacity on each of the ships. What does PTP mean? (units Per Ton of Patience?) What I really need help with is the math. 1. I am trying to do some cost analysis on the inhabitable planets. Does it make sense to use miner colonies? If so which planets/moons are the most worthwhile to mine? 2. Speaking of minerals, how much is each mineral type worth? Detoxin is high in demand but fairly prolific (Jade has the highest Detoxin production in the Amnesty system at 9 ptp). Energon is the most valuable with Lepitium a real close second (This is especially true towards the end of the game). Build a colony with a mine and Raenium is buy one get one free. It seems that as soon as you build a colony you get 500000 t/ptp of Raenium. It seems like you could save money jettisoning it into space. 3. How does the cost analysis of minerals affect the true cost of items such as the Hunter or Laser Cannon? A Hunter may cost 5700 but it also cost 1875 Energon. Energon prices being what they are these days, that could be more expensive than the initial sticker shock. The Galleon is another sticker shocker at 47,000, 12670 Energon and 11,000 Lepitium. Even it they did not have a cash cost, the mineral expense is pretty high. 4. Some colonies are no brainers and others are worth reconsideration. A colony with 9 mines, 4 derricks and the space station to transfer the items cost 526350 (466350 with wind power) while a miner station cost 9700. Amnesty Apollo, with its anemic Energon and Lepitium production, may warrant only a miner colony. Amnesty 2 Moon Mir on the other hand (D:5 E:7 K:1 L:2 R:5 T:0) may be worth the investment. One strategy may include tossing a miner station on Amnesty 2 (D:0 E:0 K:2 L:2 R:3 T:4) and or Penelope (D:0 E:0 K:0 L:0 R:9 T:7) and waiting till either Russel (D:2 E:9 K:0 L:0 R:8 T:4) and Kepler (D:0 E:0 K:9 L:3 R:3 T:6) to come open to get the Texon you will need. Course, if you are tossing miner stations about Gallilei is worth consideration and is available as soon as you find Jade (D:0 E:2 K:7 L:0 R:0 T:6) and it doesn't produce Raenium! 5. Tax rates: Which rates make the most sense? What is the actual tax production per person per level of taxation? With that kind of information one could balance growth with tax rates and get the most out of a colony. I have the tax, population and attitudes for the different rates for the first 10 rounds of the game. These calculations seem to indicate that each persons tax rate goes up (Normal: from 4.13 to 5.24 per person) If there is any interest, I will attach my current crude documents for everyone to look at. |
hi all
i have the same problem with the eran in the bar as someone else just posted recently. although i have helped the erans i cannot ask him to help ME. he says that he just has a drink... great. i have played this game 3 times now and this never worked. dont want to defeat the league with 5000 tanks again cause building them takes about a week of playing... any idea on what went wrong?? |
Experement. If one thing doesnt work try another. Don't stick with one thing.

Hi all,
As I can see, there are a lot of experienced Reunion players here. My question is not directly related to the game itself. I past years, when I and my colleagues were crazy about playing Reunion, one of my friends said, that there was a version for Commodore computers (8 bit, not Amiga). I wonder if this is true or only a joke. Could you answer? danos Poland |
I believe it's fake.
Amiga had Reunion, and that's the version I completed. :) |
Hi Anubis,
Thank you for the answer. Before I searched Commodore sites for the information about Reunion, but found nothing. Yes, i guess it was a joke. It would be rather difficult to make such a game for 8bit machine - maybe a very limited version. Best Regards Danos |
[Can't get that game to start, by using that start.exe, the logo appears, i may choose new game and choosing hero too, but right after that first intro, game crashes...
Any ideas?] Using Windows Xp... I had to manually set the EMS to auto (as it was not on initiallyon) and then the game ran... It doesn't work on my older puter (without DOSbox) cause it has no EMS capability... |
the reason why so many have been in this forum is because the game is so different than any game seen before and since
i think :ok: |
i uploaded the two pieces of music....... did any one like it???

hi all guys!
I would know how ican use mine station, i've researched yet...but dunno why to send on the other planets. pLs help^^ Tnx to all! |

I've played this game for a long time... And I think I discovered just about everything. From setting the Morgruls against the Kalls so they don't form an alliance. (picking up their distress signal, sending a ship with a tractor beam, and telling them the Kalls'll attack them, then letting them go.) Or how to split the league and get the aircraft. (Build an observatory on a planet on Antares, discover its going supernova, help the Erans, and use them on the Undorlings to get those on your side.)
But I never discovered one thing... What is that bounty hunter for? My hunch has always been that you could somehow use him to capture that rogue Syonian controlling Earth without having to fight the Earthlings. But I never found a use for him. :/ |

BTW, Another question. There are some open source projects for old game reconstructions - UFO 2000, Transport Tycoon, LDoom, etc. Is there any project related to Reunion? Or this is so heavy copyrighted? |
Hi again,
Yesterday I bought original version of Reunion on e-bay. Tried this and conclusions are surprising. It seems that there are several different versions of game. These are my arguments: 1. It is said that 4th wave of Morguls is very huge. 2. Aircraft can be obtained from Undorlings 3. The Alliance Morguls-Kalls can be broken. Well, some of points above were not possible in different copies of the game. I played four versions of game: 1st - pirate and cracked. point 3 was not reached 2nd - abandoned version from Abandonia - point 1 and 2 were not reached 3rd - abandoned version from staregry.pl - point 3 was not reached 4th - original version (CD) comments in the future. For now it should be tuned to work under WXP Have a nice day |
hey guys, i finally managed to get the game going by messing up with the settings. usually the game crashed after chosing a character, but i changed the properties on the start.exe file: i went to the memory tab and set ems and xms to 16384. it automatically created a file in the same folder (or a shortcut?) named "start", which allowed me to play the game properly.

The aircraft are indeed obtained from the Undorlings. Its funny how many people think they can get it if they wither the Morgrul killer fleet. I know I sure haven't ever succeeded actually doing that. (And I don't think its possible to build enough ships in the time you get before they do that.) It IS possible however to kill the Morgruls before the Phelonians die. (And the whole issue with the Kalls never happens then, even if you didn't pick up the Morgrul distress signal. Indeed, the alliance can be broken by picking up the Morgrul distress signal and capturing the Morgruls. Telling them the Kalls are planning to attack them and letting them go. The Kalls won't get the chance then to ally with 'em. You can also kill off the Kalls if they DID ally with the Morgruls. But if you defeat the Morgruls after they formed an alliance, you cannot kill the Kalls anymore. Its not very useful to kill the Kalls though. Its a waste of time and units. You can also kill the Erans, but despite what your informer says. You do not want to do this. At least not if you don't want to ally with the Undorlings and get the aircraft. And you DO want this. Because aircrafts are really hard to kill with tanks. You cannot save the Jaanosians, even if you kill the Morgrul fleet there they'll still toast Jade. I think that if you actually do kill the fleet before they kill off Jade the first attacks on you may contain less ships. But I'm not entirely sure. I really wonder what to do with that bounty hunter though... I mean, by the time you have cruisers and missile launchers its not that hard to build a fleet to kill of the Earthlings. (Provided you don't enter their system before building up some decent forces.) It seems like such an afterthought at that point in the game. Maybe he had a use that was never put in the game but he was somehow left in there? |
Hi,
Thanks for detailed guide. Yes, the aircrafts are very important and useful (50 aircrafts = thousands of tanks). I finished game several times but only once got aircraft from Undorlings (I don't remember if there also was an issue with Hirachi). And, the Kalls - Morguls alliance is very lethal. I didn't have time to build decent forces to repel their attack. Maybe there is some random decisions in the game because I captured Morgul piracy ship, tell about Kalls and freed Morgul soldiers. But alliance Kalls-Morguls was formed anyway! I should have killed these Morguls. Anothre question - did you find any difference in the game when played male of female character? Recently I got female character and frequently see my base destroyed. When I played male character (several years ago) I successfully finished game, got all inventions and events in the game. Maybe there is a bug or a woman has a harder life? :| |
HI!!
Where can I find patch to Reunion?? |
Wow, I think it's really hard to deal with the Morgruls... I tried it several times and always lost...
Yesterday I made it. Mh, is it sensible to first work with the poor engeneer, pilot etc? Cause I always lack money. |
This game has triggers for certain discoveries. Avoiding advances will give you enough time to have stable economy.
I completed it on Amiga. I might give it a try on the PC also. |

I thought the Kalls is supposed to ally up with me? help help! Perhaps I shouldn't have agreed to help the phelonians since they're a lost cause? :wall: |

I always helped Phelonians. It is said, that you may catch Morgul piracy ship and tell them about Kalls. This should turn Kalls hostile against Morguls. Well, I made it several times but Morgul-Kalls alliance was always formed. They destroyed Phelonians and later me. If you don't help Phelonians you will not get the battletank plans. |
What does it depend on to find that pirate-ship?
I found it the first time when I moved into the second solar system there is. The game before I didn't find it at all. Now I have a another game running and didn't find it yet. So? |
Quote:
You also need the tractor beam, but I think this is invented by your developper no matter what you do really. So that'll be no trouble. Eventually you get a distress signal, and if you sent ships there you'll pick up the Morgrul Pirate Ship. Tell them the Kalls will attack them and let them go. The Morgruls will no longer trust the Kalls, so the Kalls cannot ally with them, and instead ally with you. (Kalls are basically a bunch of traders who'll ally with whomever they think will win at the time.) The important steps in dealing with the Morgruls are to make sure you get everything you can from the Jaanosians (Sent them your scientist, buy their artifact, help the defend them.) Exploring Jade (for the radio) Talking to your informer once you get access to Phoenix and find the Phelonians, and trade energon for the battletank. Don't accept the money, ask for techonology. Making sure that before you do that you have one colony that produces alot of energon, since you do not want the shortage. You also want to put lots nad lots of derricks on your homeworld and maybe on another world with detoxin. And you will want a world that is rich in raenium as well. You will also need some texon. (But you seem to need less of this.) You will need to colonize Penelope and Mir at least (both in your homesystem) and you want to do this ASAP in the game (Start with Mir, its a desert so you can build windtraps for cheap energy there.) Finding Explorer 2 (I think its in the Mirach system. You will need to land on one of the planets. Could be at Phoenix, but I'm 90% sure its at Mirach.) this gives you extra technology you'll need. (Destroyers I think are gained this way.) Doing the whole pirate-ship thing and telling the Morgruls that the Kalls will attack them before letting them go. (They can't send a message if you kill 'em! And throughout it all keep building both spaceships and tanks! You will not need troopers, so don't bother with those. But you WILL need hunters, starfighters and destroyers. Focus on starfighters but build lots and lots of hunters as well. (They do make a difference.) You won't need many destroyers. But I'd advice building more then one still. (You'll need one at least to get your army out of the system!) For money, make sure taxes on your homeworld are as high as possible. (But to keep them from revolting do make sure you buy them stuff like a stadium and all.) When you got a reasonable sized fleet, kill the Morgruls and go straight for their homeworld. Anything else won't even faze them. (In fact consider all alien colonies irrelevant. Only their homeworlds matter.) Once the Morgruls are dead, the game won't be nearly so hard. :) Just don't kill the Erans. Build a colony with an observatory in their system instead. And when you meet the league be sure to immidiately ask your barman about them. (He is the one that tells you to break up the league. And if he doesn't tell you, you can't actually break them up I found! And if you don't ask early on you can't ask anymore, stupidly enough.) But anyway, if you do all that you'll be able to rescue the Erans when their sun goes nova and befriend them. And then you can send them to bring the Undorlings to your side. (Which gives you aircraft.) |
i probably still have the original cd lying around in one of my boxes with old computer stuff.
I like this game it was a great game to play. |

You are right, the Explorer 2 is in the Mirach system. |
Hi all,
One thing was always interested for me. I tried to play as male and female character, but did not see any difference. I finished the game in the same way as usual. The only issue was that woman Commander has less money at the begin of game. Did anyone notice other differences during the game? Best Regards |
took me 2yrs to finish the game...to hard....moguls take the piss after 2 yrs they come and nearly wipe your behind away...........i have aend game somewhere LOL
|
PLEASE HELP ME...
I can't go to the other star systems... I've killed the mogruls and build another army but now only my satelite ships can travel through systems 4-6 anyone know how to trigger a discovery or something to get to the next systems? |
Hallo, what follows is part of the danish sollution...
it not complete.... i made it many years ago, but, just to preserve it for my self i clip it into here.... and for the 1 or 2 other danes on this site: REUNION 1.del: MOGRULS Begynd med de mellemste r?dgivere. Phelonianerne vil betale 100000 for 10000 tons energon. 2.del: THE LEAGUE N?r mogruls er banket flade, f?r du mulighed for at bes?ge tre nye solsystemmer. |

Thanks for the reply. but.... I already have the trade ships. Is the galleon the best trade ship? If I try to travel to the other systems it will just say "Your pilot cannot travel that great distance" or somthing like that... I have researched all but the last two lines in the research page(I've researched solar plant and rad shield... Anyone have another solution? I already have more than 30 mil and a whole lot of ships cause I just kept speeding the time. |
Means you gotta hire a better pilot. (And if the best one isn't good enough, sent her to the university.)

I have getting smashed by those lousy morgals too many times......
Do any one know where i can download a save-game.... after the morgals are extinct?? I would like to have such a save game.... please Here is a picture from the game, that aint on this site: http://img371.imageshack.us/img371/3589/reunion1lf.jpg |
Quote:
My advice is to build hunters, starfighters and battletanks simultaneously. And one important thing. When an enemy fleet approached to my homeworld I always attacked them first. Thanks to it I managed to defeat joint Morgul and Kalls forces. Kalls arrived 3 seconds after the Morguls Fleet Seventh Wave. It was enough to wipe out Morguls first and wait for the Kalls. When you build 3 destroyers (should be enough) take army and go to the Mirach 3. They space forces are not as strong. You would need about 40-60 tanks and some tactics described in this forum earlier by Nostalgicus, kodiakai, and others. Just search forum. The Morguls are very important part of the game - without them the game would be not as interesting and exciting. |
But maybe he ís right...
' Attention those who have who have finished the game: Can you please send your save-games, different places in the game, to the administrators of this wonderful site. This game is so much harder and exciting than any game i have ever tried. But I do also get smashed all the time. I am to dumb to finish this game on my own hand, I admit that, but i would still like to finish it anyway too. All i want is to jump over the chapter about the mogruls...... All you have to do is find the save-games in the renion-folder, then put it in a zip-file, and send it to the administrators. That would also be a good way to preserve your own save-games. This is one of the few games, that are that hard, that some-one-elses savegame can help VERY much. If you cant get it on this site, then do any of u know where i can find such save-games??? Please help a dumb, but please help a fan of reunion. I would be very glad then. |
Buildings are limit, there arent any patch to fix it?
|
Has anyone but me notiched anything funny about the topmost screenshot on the page of description of reunion?? Where the fighters should have stood, there stands some guy in green clothes, or is he the cheapest pilot???
|
hey is there any reason why my mental radar research stopped at 99%?
my research dude(the best one) has full stats already 9 on each. I can't go through this game unless i research that stupid radar. |
Ignore my last post... :)
it must have been another bug in the game... Anyway I just decided to start a new game for the 5th time! :ranting: and finally used the trainer for ores n money. :D I couldn't get the plane and the ion cannon since i couldn't get the erans to use their shapeshift ability and I refused to wait another few hours waiting for it to happen because of the bugs n stuff. anyway, I am willing to share my last savegame just before I attacked earth. Just need to know what to do so that I could upload my savegame. |
Den:
Heyyy, im glad to hear that you are willing to share so much :D :ok: Thanks..... that is also a way for you to preserve your savegames. I went into the reunion folder, and there was a folder named "save", i went through it, and it had as many files named "spideysavexx" (xx for the number of svaegame) that i had save-game. So what you should do is, that you should right-click on the "save"-folder, and choose "ad to archive",,,,, that is: make the whole folder a zip-file.... then we (I.E. us that are not as good at this game) should then just replace our savegame-folder with yours, or maybe erase ours and place yours there.... then we should be able to play a game in reunion where it is easy........ I just hope the administrators do also allow save-games to be downloadeable here - it should be, because this is one of the hardest games ever made, and therefore very good. ps: are your savegames only before you attack earth??? or are they also earlier in the game?? like after the mogruls have been smashed, or when hyperdrive have been invented, or after the league have been smashed??? cause if you, in your save folder, have made save games in very different places in the game, then we could just play the game after the mogruls........ becourse that is where i am stuck..... but if i can only play the game before the reunion with.... yeah,,, umm, then let it be, i have no other choice...... save completing the game myself.. all in all, your savegames would be mostly aprieciatted, if the administrators of this site allow, as i hope. Just ad your "save"-folder in a zip-folder and send it to the administrators, with the explanation, that it is a very hard game, and that a savegame-folder from somone who has finished the game, would be very useful to many |
Oh yeah, i forgot: if you have those save games with much ore and money, send those, along with save games, where mogruls, the league have been smashed, or are about to.
I useually get smashed by the mogruls 3rd wave of attack... and then, this screen apear, that shows that i have been defeated (it is pretty well-drawn, but i dont like it): http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/6...ndefeat2ce.jpg :help: but please send in your save games-folder in a zip-file.... Thanks :ok: :ok: :D  |
Send savegames to us? I'm not sure we could host an unlimited amount of savegames for this game. If you need to exchange save games, wouldn't it be easier to simply use your emails? |
Administrators: There would just be talk of one zip-file with a save-game folder. And may i remind you that this is one of the hardest games in the known universe. But OK it is you site.
Else you could have an undersection with downloadeable zip-files Den: I would be very glad to recive your save-game-folder in a zip-file. Just send it to this email: *************@*******.*** If you cant, thanks anyway :ok: This post has been PWNED by the_fifth_horseman Reason: Don't post your e-mail adresses in public - for your own safety! |
DO NOT POST YOUR E-MAIL IN PUBLIC!!! There are many kinds of people and bots going around the net, and since this part of Abandonia is public, all of them can see the adress you post.
Ergo, by posting it you are just asking to get it flooded with spam. As for hosting the savegame, it just isn't the purpose of this site here. There are free file hosting servics, like www.rapidshare.de or www.megaupload.com, and that's where these can be uploaded. |
I`m from Russia, sorry for my english.
This post about Money, Aircraft, Development, Unknown device and WAR. ------------------------------------------------------- 1) How get money fast ? This is not spam :-) Usually mistake consist in building MANY SMALL colonies. I`m was wonder, reading some such recomendation in this thread. Small colonies cost 100.000, have 10.000 people and High tax. Big colony cost 300.000-500.000, have 20.000-40.000 people and Very Difficlt Tax. Moreover, because strange bug or feature small colony growth to 9970 people and DO NOT required "new living space". Big colony has this bug also, but with less annoing result. The best start is place Mining Station on Zeus/Penelope, collect 250.000 and build big colony on Amnesty2/Mir Build hospital, med.plant, crush, stadium, recr.center in first queue and set Very Diff. tax. After you may build mine, spaceport, etc. You may build 2-3 big colony before 1st Morgruls attack. ----------------------------------------------------------------- 2) Aircraft After defeat Morgruls fly in 4,5,6,7 systems with Sat.Carrier. War trigger checked ONLY after you Trade/Army fleet fly in this system. It`s not required for AirCraft, but very userfull. Save Errans in usual way. After it, him start drinks in bar. Let it, not bother him yet. Build fleet, not tanks. About 30 Destroyers enought. Destroyers and Cruiser - the best. Fast for build, equiped with fast build Missile and Plasma. Fly to 6,7 system, meet Janosian, Undorling, 3rd race (his name not in my memory, sorry). Go to bar, ask barmen about League, ask informator, ask Erran. Now, Erran agree infiltrate in League and break it. If you choice Undorling - they leave League and give you Aircraft plan. I`m not check, but may be other races not give Aircraft, only decreese League firepower. ------------------------------------------------ 3) Unknown research. It`s Meteorite Desintegrator. Same thing, as Radiation Shield, but for 6 system colony. ------------------------------------------------- 4) Bounty Hunter Don`t known, but may be for kill telepathic renegate without war with Earth ? |
ABOUT MY SAVEGAME:
-I can only remember my savegame just before I attacked earth. (which I cheated because of some bug that won't allow me to finish mental radar research even though my science guy has 9 on all stats.) -The savegame has no airplane plans and Ion cannon since I couldn't get the erans to use their shapeshift ability on the undorlings. -I have other savegames but I didn't really label them or anything and I don't know which part of the game that was and which game was it.(cause I started a new game 5 times because of bugs.) So the other savegames are pretty much useless to you guys. -I just want to upload my savegame here or send it to the admins if possible. I don't want to send emails because..... because..... because I'm just too lazy to log in yahoo or gmail and type your email addresses  sorry If you want some tips on how to beat the mogruls baddies. Well as everyone would say.... "Keep building military hardware." :D. build it in such a way where it's efficient. DON'T build like 10 hunters and 10 starfighters and then you won't be able to build any lasers or dual lasers cause you've run out of minerals and have to wait. "A hundred ships without weapons are only useful if you want the mogruls to have a target practice". * :sniper: * You have to be fast and save your mineral trips.(like picking up minerals only when you have nothing left to do but wait). * A happier population = faster growth rate = more $$$$$$ income $$$$$$ Later on if you think you have enough income to support your military expenses. You can just ignore your people's demands and concentrate on ships and tanks. * Try and get the middle advisors at the start of the game except for the fighter.(I only got the fighter guy when I decided to attack the mogruls). Not too sure about this but that's the way I did it. * Get the best science guy as soon as you can. (It's cheaper than to send the middle guy to the university a LOT of times.) :D *In the long run it is better to get a colony than to just send a miner thingy. (Mo pop mo money) :ok: * In my experience useful planets in the the 1st system would be: --- The earth like moon on planet Jade is a nice place. --- Best detoxin is still on New Earth. --- Amnesty 2 moon mir is good for energon and raenium. --- Zeus' moon penelope has texon and raenium. * To get tank plans you need to speak to phelonians (Phoenix 5) and instead of trading money for energon, tell them that you would prefer technology instead. * When in battle set up your tanks/troopers like this: -> X X <--------------------------------M (ENEMY TANK) X <--------------------------------M (ENEMY TANK) -> X DON'T MATCH UP YOUR TROOPERS AGAINST TANKS OR THEY'LL DIE WITHOUT EVEN FIRING A SINGLE ROUND. Other people say that to never use troopers. For me I just build them just to beat the mogruls cause I need all the military units I can get. After mogruls I stop building them. That is all I think about beating mogruls.... GOODLUCK! :ok: After beating the mogruls don't forget the airplane plans! (You'll finish the game faster with it :Brain: ). Go to system 4 and don't worry about the league declaring war on you since you will only trigger it if you go to systems 5 & 6 with a trade or army group. To speak with the erans you have to... create a colony on 1 of the moons and make a power plant and and OBSERVATORY. Don't make your colony fancy cause you will soon discover that their star will become a supernova and you leave your colony there. Don't forget to help the erans once you speak with them. :D After you get the eran in your bar. :) continue with your job building military harware. At this stage don't bother with troopers anymore just build tanks. If you feel you have enough to wipe out the league go to them and let them start a war. It is important that you should let the erans use their shapeshift ability on the undorlings to get the airplane plans(Since I cheated I couldn't get them to use it "More reason for you not to cheat" :max:.) This causes the undorlings to leave the league and join you with the very nice airplane plans. :) NOTE: Airplanes become obsolete once you get the missile launchers. Missile launchers will wipe out anything comming near it. :D GOODLUCK! :Titan: |

Hi,
Sharing the savegames is like a spoilsport to me, but... Yesterday I found my savegames on my old PC. The one is just after defeating the Morguls. I agree with administrator and recommend mailing savegames by sending messages between registered users. Best regards |
ok fine.... now im registered.....
how do you " mailing savegames by sending messages between registered users" is the button under the user.... or something else. i dont know, im new to this system. Just to sum up: I would like to get a savegame when the mogruls are smahed...... also savegames with lot of money and about to attack earth could be useful. |
I hate repeating myself.
Use Rapidshare or Megaupload and post the link here. |
I have to say that this game's intro is pretty damn stylish.
|
thanks the_fifth_horseman!! I used megaupload. :)
Sorry for the late post. I was busy at work. Well here you go people. The savegame your looking for. :) Started a new game for some of you who really just want to get back at the mogruls. :ok: there are 2 savegames here 1 for the mogruls and 1 for earth. Again I cheated on the earth savegame cause I couldn't be bothered making another army. Good news though is that the mogrul savegame is not cheated. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7S3FLGCG I understand that sharing savegames is spoiling the game. But I know how frustrating this game could be especially with the mogruls. I couldn't forget about this game for years. After you download the savegame try and do it again yourself, you'll see that it isn't that hard getting past mogruls. Lastly... I take back my post above where I said not to get the fighter guy until attacking the mogruls. I just found out that It's actually better to get a middle fighter at the start at the game and probably get the cheapest pilot at the start cause you won't be able to afford all middles. |
Thanks very much Den :ok: :ok: :ok: :D :D
im thankful once again, thanks :D |

He'll tell you that the league doesn't like the speed at which you are developping and that you need to break them up. You need to do this right after the League declares war. Else the barman won't say it at all anymore, for some reason. After talking the barman, talk to the Eran. |
Hello!
I play this game when i was young, it is a good game ^^ But do you know where can I have the french version of the game? Because i just found english/german & italian version :s Thx! |
Someone wanted to know whats bounty hunter good to - he can kill the spy unless you have already conviced him to work for you. Since the spy is the only way to get coordinates of 3rd system I don't recommend doing so :]
Maybe theres a good use for bounty hunter too... I've done some colony buildings research, because the game lacks way to check how much people can colony support with current structures. When "need food/building/hospital/stadium" report comes its too late, because population already decreases. I wanted to know, how many people each building supports: housing: - colony center 10K - building 7K food: - colony center 20K - food processor 20K (better than farm) - farm 8K health care: -colony center 20K -hospital 20K tropical planets are complicated, it seems that you need one medical plant and doubled hospitals. I needed 2 hospitals to get population past 20K entertainment: stadium to get past 50K (not sure if you need 2 to get past 100K) Once your population grows out of support, It's morale will fall down until it's fixed, which can happen naturally, because morale lower than neutral reduces population (it has some inertia, so you'll lose about 2K (bad)). -- Some other findings - Underpowered structures work as well as fully powered ones, proven even for derricks. - Morale affect tax incomes a little, 20K loyal people at normal tax level will give you more than 20K neutral at normal tax level. |
Den: thanks for the savegames..... i smashed the mogruls, but i almost got smashed on the gound-war...... does anyone know very good tactic to win on the ground.
And there is talk in the solution and here about an airplane, rocketlauncer and carrier as weapons..... does anyone know where to find these things??? a quick answer would do just fine........ please |
Quote:
Airplanes can be researched after helping the erans in system 4(read the text file in the zip file). Rocket launchers and other advanced tech can be discovered later on as the game progresses. |

thank you for reply ^^ |
Now im kinda in a stalemate of a situation.
The mogruls are crushed, and i have 4 new systems. I have sent satelites to the 3 systems. In the 4th system i made a colony, and made a observatium. and then found out that their should be a supanova explosion soon..... Then this fine gentleman contacted me: http://img488.imageshack.us/img488/6229/reunion25af.jpg i agreed to save his people.... i only said yes, and now the shape-shifter-alien appears in the bar. My problem is: it is a stalemate, nothing happens - i cant send trade-ships to systems 4, 5 and 6, the computer says that the ship cant surstain such a long journey. And i have no airplane, carrier or rocket-launcheres. I hope it is not a bug.... but i cant see what else should habben, shall i wait???? sometihng must trigger, and soon. i try to talk to the people in the bar, but the say the same thing..... A quick adwise would be greatly appriceated.... this is the hardest game ever made, therefore very hard to let go. |
If you don't have the best pilot (advisor) get her.
|
Quote:
I have to check. I will let you know about the results. |
But how do i get the airplane, cruiser and rocket-launcer???:help:
Or will they, as i suspect, just get invented at some moment (without you having to trigger it.), and ten you can research it. I dont know why i love this game?? maybe because it is hard, and it most unique game ever made. |
I have no idea.... all i know is that im stuck trying to kill the morguls main planet colony :sniper: but they got 20 airplanes, witch kill all my battle tanks and my troopers easily... :wall:
will if anyone find out how to get airplane tech plz post here fast :D :bye: |
nevermind puted like 400+ batletanks on theyr behind they died
by the way, when i stoped theyr biggest atack (they had like 9 destroyers or mbe little less) and destroyed theyr colony at jade planet tehy stoped atacking me |
Now i have finally destroyed the league, but i have a problem:
Does anyone know how expensive the cruiser is???? I tried to bye one, and i had like 300.000!!!! it cant be that expensive i dont hope i have a bug :help: |

After beating morgrul, money is not a problem for me. I managed to eliminate them before 2929-11-18 when morgrul-kall alliance defeats phelonians, but I cannot attack kall until then so good bye phelonians anyway. I got the message that the alliance declares war to me, but kall were still friendly - I couldn't attack them. Later kall fleet arived and battle started but no enemies appeared on battle screen :] The kall fleet remained on New Earth orbit for the rest of game and even appeared as green dots on the right side of battle screen when I was attacked by League :] After defeating morgrul It took me 5 months to fortify economy and building army to 100 fighter and 15 destroyer. This army was sufficient to defeat league (with addition of 20 aircraft). So I fast forwarded a lot :] For Earth I bought 5 destroyer, 2 cruiser and 20 missile launcher more. Also I had to buy some fighters to get 100 again as I lost about 40. Again sufficient. It was too easy :( had only one regular attack after defeating morgrul :( |
One thing that I experienced I found extremely annoying:
All of a sudden every Trooper costs 68647 Raenium but all the other raw materials are still the same. Too bad I saved before I noticed and now it's in my savegame!!! Not enough: From some moment on Amnesty I goes high speed around the sun. That's also locked in my savegame.. So it's all  because I have to start over again and my savegame is really good!!! :ranting: |
one question:
when defeating earth??? should one attack earth first, or mars or europa first???? |
Hi again, i would also like to have answered ?sop question:
when defeating earth??? should one attack earth first, or mars or europa first???? Now i want to talk about battle-tactics, on the ground. Cause until now i have lived with very poor battle tactics on the ground, i always end up destroying most of my tanks. But then i read someone talk back there about making a kind of trap for them. Making their tanks roll toward my forces, and then flank them..... And does the same tactic aply now that i have misile tanks and airplanes??? anyway here is my battleplan: http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/4...battle35oc.jpg my new tactic is now, to place my units in a semi-circle, then let their forces aproach me, to attack the bate (tanks), then flank then with airplanes and missile-tanks Does anyone have a better tactic (please), because i would like have a better tactic, because i get beaten a lot. To host image, i just take a screenshot, with either the print screen button or dos-box built in function ctrl+f5, which will lay a png.file in your capture-folder under dos-box folder, i then used http://imageshack.us/, to host the image. and the host it here. (this i wrote was mainly something i wrote to my self, so that i did not forget |
If you have technological advantage, number of enemy units doesn't matter.
You just let them come into firing range of your unit and hit retreat before they can return fire :] Unless you are defending... If both you and enemy have missile launchers, notice that missiles from one tank kill two target tanks, missiles from two tanks kill five, so its best to lineup groups of 2 against enemy groups of 5 :] |
how do you get your troopers/battletanks/airplanes into ground battle i just cant figure that out! :wall:

When you fly your army to a enemy system, make sure that you have added your troopers, tanks and airplanes to your army. Fly to the enemy system, zoom out, so that you see the planet and its moons, chose your fleet, and chose the option attack ground, which takes the form of a riffel or blaster. The first your fleet does, is eliminate the enemy fleet. The they attack the ground. Before the attack, you have to add your tanks and airplanes into battlegroups or units or whatever, add them there, and press on attack, and the you should attack with all units...... but the computer, should also add them for you. |
ya but i wass wondering how to ge them on the ships but that website helped me because i didnt notice the red arrow in the bottom right corner thanks anyways :Titan: :sniper: :tomato:
|
ok what the fudge i keep on getting a security message which asks which day is it how do you get past that
|
Yes you said yourself, you have to add them to your fleet, by selecting the army group, going down one level, by pushing on the red arrow, and then add them there. Else du what Hrothgar said Quote:
It asks you questions from the story of the game, which you can see in the manual, which also can be downloaded on this site, or else it is the copy-protection codes, which also is on this site. When i was asked a question, it was about when explorer 1 was reported missing, i think, and that was 2589, or then it was when explorer 2 leaved the solarsystem (2616). Either way, all the answer is in the manual, which you can download at this site. but continue this game, it is great. Secondly: there was someone back in the thread that talked about that it was to easy to kill your enemies, if you have the upperhand.... that is true, but remember how difficult it was defeating the mogruls! I see this as a battle-analogy: It is like the battle of El-Alamein: We, the humans, are Fieldmarshal Bernhard Mongomery of the Allies, and the aliens is the desert fox (fieldmarshal Erwin Rommel). The aliens have much less material, but at first more advanced, and they use this at first for quick bold attacks, which can be succesful, if you dont build up enough defences all the time. And you should be like Mongomery, build up a good base. Build up enough strength, hopefully eneough so that you outnumber the enemy two to one (just like at El-Alamein). Just think about that, it would make it much funner. Though you have to be bold, like Rommel, if you want to get rid of the mogruls quick. Enjoy this cool game :D |
this game is awesome.. have the original.. bought it back in `94.. completed the game, but its damn hard.. good luck guys. :D :Brain:
|
I have problem:
when I'm starting it on XP i crash (of course), but when I'm trying it on dosbox, it crash too (just after clicking NEW GAME). On my friends computer it works even on XP when I extended memory i windows options, but it did not helped me. Sorry for english. |
WinXP is known to produce varying results depending on its version, the hardware it is running on as well as the drivers used.
In other words, what works for your friends' XP does not have to work for yours. Have you ran the game's internal setup and configured it accordingly to DosBox.conf? I'd wager a hefty sum you didn't even think of it. There is the lesson for you to learn, boy: when dealing with old games and emulation, patience and persistence are very important virtues. Critical, I'd say. |
Is there anybody who had the french version? :s
|
what gives! its a great game adn now we have to buy it!!! :sos: :tai:
|
Deal with that. Abandonia condones no warez.

Just started playing this game again. I've had it for years, and still never managed to defeat the Morgruls! So... hopefully, the time is now ^_^
|
Hi,
how can I prevent the Kall-Morgrul alliance? I talked to the Morgruls from the pirate ship, told them about the Kalls and their intended attack and let them go unharmed. The conversation ends always with their statement that they will contact their leaders. I did this in several games. However, sooner or later I always got the message that the Morgrul-Kall alliance was formed, that they defeated the Phenolians (sp?) and that they declare war on me. What is going wrong? What am I doing wrong? Is the forming of this alliance stalled only for a certain amount of time? I usually wait quite a long time before I wipe out the Morgruls resp. the Kall and after that the Morgruls. I love this game. Never thought that Alien Legacy has a competitor. Thanks in advance. R. PS: Got lots of trouble getting the aircraft. Extremely frustrating, seems buggy to me. It isn't. Just for the records: In this thread there is a post from Nicolay_P_I. Follow his instructions and you will get aircraft. It seems to me that the correct sequence of steps will trigger the aircraft stuff. When you talk too early to the bartender it won't work, talking too early to the Eran is also not recommended. Nicolay, you saved my day. Thanks. R. |
Does anyone have any ideas how to start out, cause I haven't a clue on how to start, except for following the manual quick tutorial instructions.

Choose your Instructors: cheapest pilot, medium scientific and builder, no fighter for now. Research sats and mining droids. Deploy Sats. Research and build a Sat Carrier. Deploy sats throughout the whole system. Research everything that will be offered. Build at least one Transfer Ship. The first part of the game is mostly about money. Colonization is pretty expensive. First colony IMO should be Mir (place a miner station there before colonizing), second should be Penelope (again use a miner station before building a colony). (You have to "discover" both of them though) Take care of your colonists. In this thread you can find a post about the infrastructure and its relation to population. You must build in advance, if you get messages about lack of food or housing, you already lost thousands of colonists and their taxes. If you discovered Jade send your Transfer Ship. This will trigger the main storyline of the first part. The race is on ;-))) Hope this helps a bit. R. |
I'd really like to play this game again, 1 decade later, buuuut, it crashes in dosbox just after the logo screen :/
Setup was ran normally and according to the values in dosbox so I donno what to do :/ Any tips? Hagalaz |
What version of DosBox do you use?

DosBox and VDMSound are always better then trying to run the game in Windows enviroment, IMO.

Im a bit confused.. I've played, and a bit with the help of the guide..
I did manage to set up the Kall to fight the Morgals. Further I found some tech at planet2 moon2. (or was it moon 1? somewhere there ;)) Now I have only been attacked one time by the morgals. Further, the planet Jade does not appear to be in system1 anymore, though the spy reports it exists.. I only have the trooper unit to do ground attack and that aint enough to attack the morgal's main base (they have about 120+ and keeps growing) whereas I only have about 80.. The development of more troopers takes too much time :S In space I have no worry's.. Am now in year 2930 and have 3974276cr on my bank account :\ Can someone give my a pointer? :sos: Im quite desperate right now :titan: |
IIRC you have to go to the bar and talk to the informant (the guy near the bartender). He will tell you something about a planet with an advanced civilization in the 2nd star system. Meet them and help them, DON'T do it for money. They have something to share with you which should solve your problem.
Hope this helps R. |
Thanks a bunch! It indeed helped :ok: :brain: !
Only I progressed to far in time that the morgal's come with a pretty large fleet and kills me quite a bit ;) maybe I should take a save game further back in time. ^_^ (I still wonder why Jade has suddenly disappeared from my 1st starsystem :whistling: ) |

In your first post you wrote that you set up the Kall to fight the Morguls. I never managed that. Did they actually fight each other? In my games the Kall and the Morguls always work together and defeat the people who gave me the battle tank plans. (Even if I wiped out the Morguls before. In any game there is a message that the Kall and Morguls defeated the "Tank race". Always wondered how the Morguls achieved that, having no planets or fleets anymore). R. |
i been searching forever how to get the aircraft and it was as simple as speaking with the barman and asking, i wondered why the first time i played i had it, LOL, well i am still missing one tech development located under destroyer right of solar plant left of ion cannon and above cruiser
dont know what it is, but im missing it, though doesnt stop me from destroying the earthlings i have 60 destroyers so air was no problem and 60 missile launchers and 60 aircraft and over 200 battle tanks so the destroying earthlings where easy, but when i destroy them the game shuts down. not sure if the game is suppost to just quit but i use xp with no sound to run it. i was so surprised to see people still play this game like me, good old games never die ^^ i had 30 destroyers to deal with the morgral they where easy to fix too. i even let there 4th wave come just to see them crumble LOL my ground tactick is with the morgral is to bait them, as such Use one unit of trooper Here is how i arange it a little diagram X = Tank O = trooper K = enemy tank X O L O L O L X after you bait and destroy the tanks on the side you retreat and come back ^^ - Leo - |
My drawing didnt wor
--X O---------L O---------L O---------L --X the spaces where deleted, so there you go |
ohh i found out what the missing tech was it was the meatior destroyer after being on the a planet getting hit by them for a while your scintest come up with it, so im missing nothing they earthling come and attack heaps but they just break off from my army i have so many missile launchers it's immpossible to use them all on the attack but i dont need it as the bopard of missile launchers wipes them all clean, and i have so much cash it's not funny LOL
the way i did it was i made all my first collenies as high tech as possible and make the tax very high, and then leave it, and any new places i get i just dont bother |
This game is an amazing game! One of my favourites, mostly from nastalgia probably. My brother got frustrated with the game, i had no manual but figured it out (with some trial and error LOL). I liked the story line, and the gameplay was simple but had some depth to it. Overall i really like and recommend this game.
Its funny i told ppl about this game, and tried to buy it, but no luck its like it didnt exist. This is my new favourite website. |
I finally finished this game, after 10 years of waiting. But i used the well known solution by OrinThomas, found here:
http://files.the-underdogs.info//games/r/r...reunion-sol.txt But i just thought that it was a little too unspecific. So i have made a revised version of it. Were ive added all the things i found useful to finish the game: What i have added is in italic T H E R E U N I O N H I N T S F I L E ------------------------------------------------------- version 1.01 by Orin Thomas Revised by Narkooegle C O N T E N T S --------------- Part One : Beating the Morgals. One A) : How to Attack. Part Two : Defeating the League. Part Three : Reunion with Earth ----------------------------- PART ONE: BEATING THE MORGALS ----------------------------- Try to hire the middle people as advisors. The cheaper ones are basically useless – though you at some point later in the game have to have all the top-advisors . But when you have the money, then first and foremost upgrade the scientist and the fighter. It is generally cheaper to upgrade the scientist than to retrain him 4 times. From the start of the game, you should constantly think of minerals and credits. Credits you get from more tax and more people on your planets. Minerals you get from placing many Mines and Derricks (for Detoxin) on your planets quickly – but not higher than 9, that is the capacity of the planet. But with the mines, it is imperative that you buy as many minedroids as you have mines, and place them in the mines - because the mines does not yield much minerals without the droids. When it is possible, then make mining-colonies on other planets and moons (especially those with many resources that you can use). Also colonies are preferable, if it is a planet with the most useful minerals (planets with the minerals: Energon, Texon and Rainium are preferable). Jades Moon Russel is one of these planets/moons. To contact the Jenossians, as soon as the planet Jade becomes visible to your astronomers send a TRADE group there. (not a satellite carrier). The Jennosians will make contact with you, but you have to invent the translator to talk to them. When the translator is invented The Jennosians will offer you an improved trade ship. Later they will offer you an artifact for a price. Take it. It turns out to be a hyperdrive unit. When they contact you about helping them fight the morgals agree to help. There is not much that you can do, but they then give you the plans to the Hunter and the Laser Cannon. Start building as many Hunters as you can. If you have about 10 Hunters and the middle "fighter" advisor, you should overcome the first morgal attack – though you should keep in mind that you should get the top-military-advisor as soon as possible. When the Morgals kill off the Jennosians send a trade group to Jade and land on the planet. This enables you to find a radio transmitter that is helpful later on. To defend your planet, put all of the fighters in the New Earth Defence Force group. This means that they will defend your planet. But don’t place troops and fighters in your colonies, they will never get attacked anyway. Generally you should constantly think about producing war-material. Transport as much mineral, get as much credits you can, and then simply use money and minerals constantly on fighters, troops and tanks!! It is very important. When you can, build a galleon and send it to the Pheonix System, planet three. You will meet with the Kalls and some sort of alliance is formed. When Pheonix Five becomes visible do the same thing. This time you will meet the Phelonians, they will offer you 100.000 for 10.000 Energon, this you shall refuse. Instead you shall ask for something else for the 10.000 Energon. This turns out to be the plans for a Tank, which gets very important in invasions later on. Try to set up a base on Pheonix Two. You will lose it due to radiation sickness but this allows you to develop the radiation shield. Set up another colony on Pheonix two, this time with the R-shield. Set up an observatory and you will find the planet pheonix-one. Send a trade ship there and you will capture a Morgal ship in distress. Tell them that the Kalls are fighting them and then let them go – this is very important for your survival! Doing this forces the Kalls to begin fighting the Morgals. Otherwise they ally themselves and you are attacked by both. (they also kill the phelonians). This must be done before Nov 2928 You can survive past this date but from here on in the Morgal attack forces seem to grow faster than you can produce defence forces. Also, their military advisor becomes more competent, making it harder for you to win. When you get the opportunity send a satellite carrier over to planet 2, moon 2 of the Mirach system and scan the surface. This gives you more technology. You have to keep building military hardware to survive. Use the function to “Fast-Forward” by clinking and holding down on the date in the upper right corner. This way you can avoid getting bored by waiting for your army to build up. The Morgals attack your home planet with regularity. The only way I have found to overcome them is to invade their home planet (Mirach 3). When you destroy their home planet, all the colonies go as well! You will need several units (1 unit = thirty tanks/troopers) to take Mirach 3. When you launch your ground assault the Kalls also join in to help. When defeating the Morgals you have to have a special mind-set. Patience and boldness is very important. The strategy you should use, I compare with a famous battle from World War 2: El Alamein. You have to see yourself as the cautious Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery who fought the clever and bold Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. The Morgals constantly makes small bold attacks against you. And as Montgomery you should be defensive, build up your forces, and only attack when you are sure that you have more Fighters, tanks and Destroyers than the enemy. ------------------- 1 A) HOW TO ATTACK ------------------- I have received a surprising amount of mail asking how to attack. Here is an example of what you do to attack. Okay, you need to create an army group. Select new group and then click with the mouse until it says army. Name it whatever you want (mine was always STARFLEET). Now shift all your military assets into this group. The first screen will hold Hunters, Fighters, Destroyers and Eventually carriers. On the Far right is a red arrow pointing down. Click on this and you will come up with a similar screen. But here you can put Troopers, Battletanks, (eventually) Aircraft and Missile Launchers. Once you have put together the equipped group take off. Wander over to a morgal planet. (lets say jade for this example.) Don't land! Okay, you arrive. Click on the "planets" icon. You should see a representation of the Jade system. Over in the right you should see a picture of a planet with a RED arrow around it. (your fleet). Click on your fleet and then the attack icon should appear. You will not need as many starfighters/hunters/destroyers as you might think. All you have to do is take out the space forces on Mirach 3. The hardest part of taking any planet is the ground battle. When doing this, remember: THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN OVERKILL! -------------------------------- PART TWO : DEFEATING THE LEAGUE. -------------------------------- When you defeat the Morgals you find the co-ordinates of three more systems. Two of these systems contain an alien alliance called "the League". As soon as you turn up in a trade group to a League planet the whole League decide decide to attack you. So it is a good idea to wait a little, before entering the systems with a trade or army-group. Just to rebuild your forces. Explorer-units are fine, though. In some versions of this game you are asked some question about the game. It is a copy protection. The question could be: “When did Explorer 2 leave the solar-system?”, this was 2616 – or “When was Explorer 1 reported missing?”, this was in the year 2589, which has to be typed into the copy-protection. You can find all these answers in the intro or the manual. After having the same problem with the League that I had with the Morgals I loaded a game where I had just defeated the Morgals but hadn't explored the three new systems. I then made up an army of about 450 tanks, 50 troopers, 20 Destroyers, 200 Starfighters and 100 Hunters. (this took a while). A good and useful strategy is to use a satellite-carrier to explore the 4th solar system. On the only planet you can build a colony, you build a colony. For this you need the best builder. The colony should NOT be big in any way. All the colony needs is an observatory. This observatory will discover that the sun in that solar system is unstable and will collapse into a supernova within a few days –destroying the whole solar system. At this moment a memner of the league, The Erans, will contact you. They live in the 4th solar system, and wants you help to evacuate and save their whole race. This you shall accept, because they are in dept to you. You can use the Erans to easier destroy the league. The Erans are shape-shifters/changelings, you can use them to create turmoil in the League – which makes them easier to conquer. But you can first make use of the Erans once war is declared between you and the League. Use the Erans special powers to make one from the league join you. This should be the race Undorlings, because this race gives you new Weapons-technology, namely Aircraft-technology, which is useful in the ground-invasion. I then, using my satellite carriers, located the "League" worlds, and, using the spy in "local", worked out each race's main planet and their military-strength. I then took my army group in and destroyed the league. The Morgal that appears in the bar is useful for finding minerals and war-material – he will get a share in the spoils though. When you destroy the League you will find the new Rigel System. -------------------------------- PART THREE : REUNION WITH EARTH -------------------------------- When you explore the Rigel System you find some interesting stuff on the first planet. This enables you to develop some new technology: Carrier-technology (a carrier costs 340.000 credits!) and mental-Radar Technology. The mental-Radar Technology finds a new metal-planet with a new and friendly race (Syonians). The Syonians reveals to you what actually happended to Earth, why you are in exile. They also give you the co-ordinates to the sol system (Earth) . Again I decided to build up a force (this time with the newly invented missile launcher – which is VERY useful). Also it is an idea to arm your destroyers with the plasma cannons. I then, after I had built up my force, sent in my spy-satellite group and scanned planet earth. As soon as I had detected an alien presence there, I sent in my army group. The earthlings declared war (what else?). Build about 80 missile launchers for the last battle (you can ONLY filed 80), and of course rebuild the battle group from last. Attack the Earth Directly – forget the troop-concentration on Europa, Mars and the Moon. The Earth had about 80 hunters, 60 Fighters, 4 Destroyers, 3 Cruisers, 30 troopers, 60 tanks, 50 aircraft and 30 missile launchers when I initially attacked them. But it didn't matter; I had more, so I kicked their butts and reunited the Earth! ORIN THOMAS ------------------------ Revised by narkooegle |
whew, finally got this game running, but it seems a bit overwhelming. It looks fun, but I'll have to give it some more time. I'm glad to see all of these 4X games getting more attention here. It seems the mid to early 90s produced a ton of quality space strategy games, and i'm enjoying playing them all again or discovering new ones.

Err... it's just me or this game is not available anymore? :\

CD-Access has four copies in stock. Therefore by our own rules that means we cannot:
1. put it up for download on Abandonia 2. provide you with links to any source of download 3. send you the archive through e-mail or instant messengers |
Okie, thanks for the reply. :)
|
The site says that its all sold out now :)
|
I just checked - still 4 in stock, no "sold out" message.

Yes. And because the up-to-date version has the "sold out" tag, the game should be available for download again in short order.
|
YES!!!!!

You may now download this game again :)

Reunion is one of the best computer games ever!
Too bad the sequel (Reunion 2) has never been released (as stated in the end scene)... I've played some games in this genre simmilar to Reunion, such as Imperium Galactica. Does anyone knows any other recent games like Reunion? Cheers |

hi soory for my english.
i have eng, fra, deu and ita vertion of the game if your are interisting tell me. julien |
Ok, serious noob question here guys, but how the hell do I get my ships off the ground?
|
If you have all the ship controls in front of you, pull the lever on the left.
If you have no idea how to get on the ship just click on them in the menu and in the squares on the top screen there's the access to the control panel. |
Ah thanks ;) It's a good game, but it feels a bit too complex, although the first thing that came to mind was 'gee, does this remind me of Imperium Galactica? Could it be Imperium Galactica 0? :P'.
|
Can anyone tell me how does it end? Does anything happen after ground battle victory?
Thanks |
Can anyone tell me about games like this...space strategy but with no end (like sid meiers civilization)... It can include colonies, alien racees, alliances etc...diplomacy etc Ive heard about galactica and oteher stuff...could you advise me? |

Man i love this game.
I just downloaded it a few days ago, and i just completet it after 2 days constant play :) I must say it was hard, because i never got the aircrafts... so i had to build 400+ battletanks, to be able to defeat the league. But after that, it was easy defeating the Earthlings with 80 missile tanks. Really fun game... deserves a followup ;) |
great game indeed

The very first time i finish the game like you i was needed to produce 300+ tanks. But here is idea - when u find 4th system go there, meet Erans and colonize one of the planets there. Produce only observatory and generator - nothing more. Few days later you will receive that the system will go to super nova. Now go with cargo ships or battle fleet and meet erans. They will ask to save them with your ships. After that remove fleet from the system and go to the bar. Ask the customers about the erans... After you meet the League go to the pub and talk with the eran again. Ask him to make some trouble or civil war or something in the League with the Undorlings. After his mission is completed you will make alliance with Undorlings and they will give you Aircraft. Now you wont need tons of Battle Tanks to defeat the League :P Enjoy. |

I started playing Reunion once more. This time I ended it in about 3 hours :ok: Here is my research screen: http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/3817/reunionqe0.jpg If you have any questions, ask me:) Cheers |
Hello
I found Reunion on this site after a very very long time (last time I played was over 10 years ago on my Amiga ^_^ ) while looking for some other old Amiga game. This game is great. I can still remember loosing all my Summer break to it, but I've finally won :brain: Back then did it with no help on save-load mode haha Looking froward to play it again :) to bad I've forgotten so much, ore great I did. now i can discover the world of Reunion from the beginning. All the best to all Reunion freaks and fight on :titan: |
Is a good game.
But I have a problem... after destroing the league no appear 7th system... Why?? I need something?? |

i posted ages ago and i thought the forum was dead but i book marked it and i find it is still going i made the post about the tank position when in ground battle, i just love this game, i been searching for a game like it but so far i have found nothing, reunion really captivated us all, it's just a pity it was abandoned, if only the put more work into making a second one, or even multilayer functions.
well, it's great to see others who love reunion, Leo. |

Hi all
wow, i played this game like 15 years ago but got frustrated because of all the crashes (I feared a bit for my shiny 486 SX-33 :kosta: Now I tried to play it again but it is so damn hard! You 'guy playing it in 3 hours'?! :ok: Are you kiddin'? My main problems are all the bugs, :wallbash: but later to that. First, after several tries I thought about the following starting strategy: Increase tax to 'oppressing' or 'very difficult' as fast as possible. After 2 seconds or so the next day comes and you get a bit more tax that way. Get 2nd builder and upgrade her for about 20k (later it will get more expensive). Build 3 additional derricks and maybe one mine (you have one mining droid in stock). You can keep the tax for one or two days on 'oppressing' but then your people become 'neutral'. Now leave the tax on 'very difficult'. Just fast forward in time and get 250k money while your mines and derricks produce. By achieving this money your population should be around 35k. New Earth supports 38k people without additional buildings I think (just check the other post in this forum). Employ Klatoo (3rd scientist), this saves 15k for the middle scientist plus one upgrade for the colony-research (worth about another 35k). After this research and exploration with satellites (first pilot should be sufficient). You might feel being behind but I think that it shouldn't be a problem. You can get very soon new colonies (mine on Penelope and a mine on, hm, I forgot, well, the grey-brown planet has a good moon with energon, after that a colony on Mir and probably on Apollo and after that on one of Jade's moons) and there should be sufficient time to get all the research done, contact with the aliens on Jade and an economy running before the Morgruls attack. So much for the theory. Unfortunately I cannot try this out as a bug always prevents me from shifiting resources into the transfer ship. I recognized however, that there is red painting in the left frame of the cockpit-screen (when you fly your spacecraft). Maybe the bug occurs because I take the 3rd scientist first? Does anyone know anything about the bugs and how to avoid them? This game rocks so much (and it indeed got personal for me! :titan: ) that I really want to play it... By the way: I'm using dosbox on my old Win89SE notebook ^_^ Thanks for any ideas or comments |
Well, :whistling:
it could only be like 13 years ago... ^_^ |
Okay!
I tried out something different: I chose the female player in the beginning and - probably more important - did not land with the transfer ship on the planet while building up the mining station. Now it worked out, without any sign of bugs. I have now two mining stations (on Penelope and on one of the Klatoo moons, Katanga?? , well the one with Energon), two colonies (Mir and Apollo --> cheap wind energie) ready with medical plant and housing for 17k, New Earth is build up for about 55k people but without stadium and I just got the unknown device for 16k from the aliens on Jade. No sign of the Morgruls yet. Thus the above strategy seems to work out quite well. Look good, eh? ^_^ |
I've encountered a NICE bug. While in 'buying' screen I bought some aircraft, than bought 1 space station (to enable simultaneous production of 2 big ships), then clicked back on aircraft, then speed up with right mouse button on the clock, and when the space station is finished the aircraft queue boost from 3pcs. to some 1200 pcs. :max: .... later, when misile tanks became available the taks queue also was automagically filled without spending a single 'star-buck' or 'credit' or whatever currency they have.
OK - yet one spoiler or tip: when fighting with Morguls - do not hurry with rescueing a ship in 2nd. starsystem (s.o.s. signal...) I have done it just before my invading forces was ready (20 starfighters 20 hunters 1 destroyer 30 tanks). First rescue that ship in 2nd starsystem, then fly to mirach 3, wait for Kalls fleet to arrive, and begin assault. The Kalls will help in da fight. And later on they won't attack Phelonians. :w00t: |
Question!
I have my fleet orbiting Mirach 3 to smash the Morguls, but when I click the fleet icon (the circle with a red arrow) no "Ground attack" button appears! I've double checked that my fleet is on the planet's orbit, not grounded or in one of the moons. Could this be a bug? |
Some useful tips on problems you'll run into in the game;
Hiring Personel; Hire the middle advisors at the start of the game. The best ones are to expensive, but the least skilled ones really suck and won't help you much. Replace the scientist first when you got the money, because you'll be needing to research some stuff the middle guy just can't handle. And then after that the fighter for a bit of a combat boost. You won't need to upgrade the other two until after you defeat the Morgruls really. Resources; You will need to build colonies to mine Raenium and Texon as they are not present on your home planet. You will also need to make sure you are mining Energon on other planets, and you want to make sure you have lots of those oil derricks to pump up Detoxin. Because you can run into a shortage of both minerals if you do not do so. And you do not want that. You also will need to have a good stock of Energon in order to get battletanks. Also, make sure to run high taxes at your homeworld. They'll hate you but as long as you build the stuff your citizens want or need, they won't revolt. And you'll have more cash, which you'll certainly need. Getting the Tanks; The Phoenix system contains two races, the Kalls, whom you get the starfighters from, and the Phelonians. You can find the Phelonians by either building a colony with an observatory at Phoenix, or a cheaper alternative. Talk to the informant at the bar. Who will tell you about them for a fee. The Phelonians will tell you they need energon. And they are willing to pay you for it. Ask them for weaponry and you get the battletank design. Making sure the Kalls don't ally with the Morgruls; The Kalls will do whatever suits them best, so if they decide you are losing to the Morgruls they'll ally with them! This however can be prevented. Make sure you have landed on Jade (I think, if not on Mirach 2's second moon. Where you should also land anyway) and you'll get the technology for a hyperwave receiver. You'll pick up a Morgrul distress signal at one point. Retrieve the Morgruls and tell them the Kalls will attack them, then let them go. The Morgruls will no longer trust the Kalls. And they will not form an alliance, kill the Phelonians and then turn on you. Mind you if you fail at this, its not a huge deal. The Kalls are a joke and you don't need to defeat them, just kill the Morgruls anyway. This DOES however buy you more time to build up a fleet and tanks. (Make sure to build lots of hunters. (But don't skimp on fighters and a few destroyers either. Don't bother building troopers for your groundforces, they suck.) Getting the Aircraft; After defeating the Morgruls, you'll discover new systems. First go to Antares, where you'll run into the Erans. Contrary to what some people will tell you at the bar, these guys are not dangerous. In fact you'll want to make friends with them. Build a colony in their system with an observatory and you'll discover their star is about to go nova! Go pick up your colonists and the Erans will talk to you. Help them out and they'll be eternally grateful for saving their species. An Eran will then appear at the bar. In the other systems (Make sure you've build up your fleet before entering them!) you'll discover the League, a group of four alien races who don't like how fast you are developing. And declare war on you. Scope out their planets with spy sattelites and you'll learn that the two most powerful leaguemembers don't get along. You can use the Eran to get one of these races on your side. If you choose the Lisonians, they'll sent a fleet over to your system to help protect your homeworld. But if you choose the Undorlings, and those are the guys you really want. You'll get new technology! Including the coveted aircraft. Now I have one question though... Whats that bounty hunter you get after you defeat the league good for? Is there a way to use him to kill of that rogue Syonian controlling Earth so you don't have to attack the Earth fleets? |
Here, have a guide to getting ALL the tech in the game. I'm not 100% sure if I'm right on the Spy Satellite and the Spy Ship, but those you'll get anyway during the course of the game. The rest, I'm completely sure on;
Nuclear Generator Start with it. Mining Droid Satellite You can research it from the start. Satellite Carrier Launch a satellite at any world other then your moon. Miner Station Transfer Ship Discover minerals on an alien world. Control Center Build a mine on a habitable world. Communicator Meet the Jaanosians at Jade. Trade Ship Agree to send your scientist to the Jaanosians. Hunter Laser Cannon Agree to help the Jaanosians out against their enemies. Radio (Easy to miss! Useful.) Find on the Jade after the Jaanosians are destroyed. Twin Laser Gun Automatically invented after the first Morgrul attack on your planet. Hyperspace Drive Buy from the Jaanosians. Galleon Automatically invented after the first Morgrul attack on your planet. Starfighter Get from the Kalls. Trooper Automatically invented after the first Morgrul attack on your planet. Tractor Beam Invented after the first Morgrul invasion is defeated. Pirate Ship Capture the Morgrul ship at Phoenix 1. (You also get this by defeating the Morgruls.) Spy Satellite Invented during the war with the Morgruls, to allow you to get information on alien colonies. Battle Tank (IMPORTANT!) Buy from the Phelonians for Energon. (Find out about their planet from the informant at the bar, after discovering the Phoenix system.) Missile Destroyer (IMPORTANT!) Wreck on Mirach 2, Moon 2. Space Station Invented as it is needed to build a destroyer. Spy Ship Either invented during the last part of the Morgrul war, or after defeating them. Aircraft (IMPORTANT, easy to miss!) Get from the Undorlings by using the Erans to ally them with you. Solar Plant Invented automatically sometimes after the Morgruls are defeated. Meteor Disintegrator Develop a colony in Orionis or Lyrae, a building will get hit by meteors and be destroyed. Ion Cannon Get from the Undorlings by using the Erans to ally them with you. Anti Radiation Shield (Fairly easy to miss.) Build a colony at Phoenix, it will get irradiated. Plasma Gun Missile Launcher Find the wreck on Rigel 1. Cruiser Get after defeating the League. Mental Radar Developed after discovering the wreck on Rigel 1. Energy Shield Get from the Syonians. |
Finally, prime colony locations are Mir (Moon of Amnesty 2) and Penelope (Moon of Zeus) both in the Amnesty system.
Mir is very rich in Energon, and you will have shortages of that. Penelope is rich in Raenium and Texon, which you do not have on your homeworld. Mir is also a desert planet, and allows you to build the cheap sandtrap powerplants, making it the most affordable of the two colonies, and thus the one you should snag earliest. It has Raenium as well, and you won't need to much Texon, so a mining station on Penelope will suffice for a while first. (But DO build and develop a colony there later on as well when you can afford it!) Other colonies are not really that neccesary actually. Also your homeworld is rich in Detoxin (which you may also have a shortage off!) so put lots and lots of derricks there. (other colonies generally produce Detoxin only half as fast so aren't really worth the bother I'd personally say.) Alien Homeworld Locations are; Amnesty - Jade (Jaanosians) Phoenix - Phoenix 3 and 5 (Kalls and Phelonians) Mirach - Mirach 3 (Morgruls, Kill 'em!) Antares - Antares 3 (Erans, DON'T Kill 'em!) Orionis - Orionis 3 (Druedians, Kill them too!) Lyrae - Lyrae 3, 5 and 7 (Undorlings (get them on your side!), Hirachi (Kill 'em!) and Lisonians (Don't get these on your side, just kill 'em.) Rigel - Rigel 2 (Syonians, hidden, explore Rigel 1 first.) Sun - Earth (Hunams, I guess you should kill 'em but I still wonder what that bountyhunter's for.) Never bother attacking an alien colony. It does you no good and just costs you valuable ships and troops. Always attack only the homeworld. That takes them out! For your starfleet make a mix of ships, lots of hunters and fighters. And a few of the big ships for good measure. For your ground forces, only bother with the most powerful troops you can get. (Never buy troopers, replace tanks with aircrafts when you have them, and aircrafts with missile launchers when you get those. Tanks don't do you any good once aircrafts come into play, and the same goes for aircraft when there's missile launchers available.) However, should you fail to get the Undorlings on your side. (Don't forget to talk to the bartender about the league after you first encounter them! If you don't do that, I've noticed you can't get them on your side!) you CAN destroy aircraft with tanks by positioning them so that the aircraft end up being fired on by two or three tanks. (Which destroys a few of them, even though the tanks take heavy losses.) |
When I played this game some 12 years ago, I remember a purple earthling called 'Treasonable' sitting on the steps in the bar. You could pay him/her(?) some cash to raise a rebellion on earth, and I believe that the bounty hunter could be hired to kill the leader of the Earthlings.......

Thanks either way! |
Some additional info! You get the spy satellite and spy ship automatically, after you discover Mirach 3 (Done by getting the spy that shows up in your bar after the second big Morgrul attack on your side.)
Also, it might be better to rescue the Morgrul ship at Phoenix 1 later rather then sooner. I rescued them early in the game, and the Kalls still allied with them. So maybe its best to make sure you discover Phoenix 1, but not to go there until the Kalls are about to attack the Phelonians? (I think at that time a Kall fleet shows up at Phoenix 5.) Maybe there's a timing issue like that with the bountyhunter and treasonable too... Because so far I can make the bountyhunter kill the renegade Syonian, but it doesn't do any good... |
Also.... final bits of interest about the game;
To make sure the Kall's are on your side, don't rescue the Morgruls at Phoenix 1 till the Kall fleet first shows up at Phoenix 5. That means they are attacking the Phelonians. Rescue the Morgruls at Phoenix one THEN, and the Kall fleet will instead go to Mirach 3, and aid you both in the spacewar and groundwar, leaving the Phelonians alone and allowing you to win with less ships and tanks. (Which is good, means you need to spent less time and resources, both of which are precious.) It does make things alot easier at that stage of the game. Second, guide to the people at the bar, those are important too! Bartender How to get: He's there at the start. What he can do for you: He can tell you about people at the bar, such as the spy or the morgrul pirate captain. He also tells you that you are not alone in your own solarsystem. Most importantly though, you need to talk to him after you first encounter the league. He will tell you to split them up. Which he needs to have told you for you to be able to get the Undorlings on your side. (You should do this straight after meeting the League.) Spy Hunter How to get: He's there at the start. What he can do for you: Kill the spy, but you do not want him to do this. Actually this guy really isn't any use. Informant How to get: He's there at the start. What he can do for you: He sells you interesting information. Particularly important when you find the Phoenix system as he will tell you where to find the Phelonians. (However you can also do this by flying back and forth into the Phoenix system. (Your ships might detect the planet.) or by building a colony and observatory at Phoenix 2 (but this is expensive and elaborate due to the planet being irradiated, and you having to invent the anti-radiation shield, which takes an 8 in physics to invent etc.) Not all of the info he gives is useful though. He's wrong about the Erans. Spy How to get: He pops up after the Morgruls second wave of attack, talk to the bartender about him, then offer him at least 30000 credits to join you. What he can do for you: He can figure out stuff about your enemies. He'll also tell you the location of the Mirach system when you hire him. You will need that information to defeat the Morgruls! So don't let your spy hunter kill the little guy. Morgrul How to get: Defeat the Morgruls What he can do for you: Sometimes you pick up messages about ores or weapons being transported. He can attack these for you. He seems to benefit from having many well armed pirate ships in your fleet. These ores and weapons can be a nice little boost to your forces. He will always accept half the cargo as his prize (if you got a fair amount of ores and not so much money this can be good for the ore raids.) And also often will accept the middle prize for hiring him. (good for raiding for weapons, so you'll get more of these.) Sometimes he'll want more cash though! Eran How to get: Build a colony at Antares 3 with an observatory. You'll discover the sun is going nova. When you sent your trade group to rescue the colonies, the Erans will talk to you. Offer to help them and he'll be at your bar. What he can do for you: He can get the Undorlings or Lisonians on your side once you encounter the league. Get the Undorlings as they give you technology. Nearly vital! Undorling How to get: Get the Undorlings on your side with the Erans help What he can do for you: Tell you about the three other League races that you are fighting. Not that useful. Just you get him anyway when you make the Undorlings join you, and you want to do that. So like... enjoy him. Bounty Hunter How to get: He shows up after you find out about Earth What he can do for you: Kill the telepath controlling earth, however this does not seem to be doing any good, weirdly. Treasonable How to get: Shows up at the back of the bar (Easy to miss!) once the Earth declares war on you. What he can do for you: Give him money and he'll tell you about the telepath controlling Earth, so you can sic the bountyhunter on him. Doesn't seem to do much though. |
And a final tidbit... the solar satellite is quite useful!
One of them will produce energy for an entire colony, seriously reducing the costs of having them as you no longer need to build powergenerators. You get them a bit late in the game though. And you don't really need colonies beyond Mir and Penelope. (And the brief one on Antares 3 of course. And one of Phoenix 2 if you want to invent the Radiationshield, but I digress) You do however end up with colonies on Mirach 3, Orionis 3, Lyrae 5 and Lyrae 7 as you conquer these worlds, so if you want to keep those. (If nothing else for extra tax incom.) Give them a solar satellite! |

looking for cheats
You know I first played this game in my cousins computer. I got a serius flash with this game. well he had a cracked version with unlimited resources and money. Does anyone know how to get that?(I mean unlimited resources and money). I know that you miss all the fun. But I have finished the game about what 7 times. I can't get bored with it. But I hate that back and forth for resources. Any ideas?
|
Perhaps hex editing the save would work?
|
come again
can you be a little more specific? I am not sure I understand. Details please. Not everybody is a computer wiz.
|
http://www.the-spoiler.com/ has the hex editing instructions for Reunion.
As for explaining how to do that ...... I'm not very eager to do so, if you have no idea what a hex editor is, don't think it's a good idea, those things can be harmfull. |
no real strategy there
Perhaps the only real drawback to this game is the fact that you have to send trade ships to uncharted planets (like when you lose the satellites in Jade, you have to send a trade ship there to contact the aliens and progress the research. It is the same thing in the second system) Which in my opinion is a total lack of strategy because the trade ship doesn´t have any other clear function apart from transporting gear and ore to and fro known planets.
Also the control room scene is very still and has a few redundant controls. Apart from that it is quite a good game where you actually get to travel inside the space ships and build stuff on the surface of the planets instead of just playing everything on a sytem radar screen. |
Getting the Phelonians to talk - or the battle tank...
-Battle tank problems.
Ok, so I tried umpteen restarts, wating til 2829-12-etc, doing and researching various stuff inbetween fighting off the Morgruls +++ BUT, the Phelonians NEVER talk to me ?? (no pleas for the 10000 Energons, nothing...) And the Informer in the bar also never speaks about that 5th Phoenix planet, so only way to find it has been to build colony+observatory on 2nd planet. I arrive with satelite transport first, then the Galleon later, which trigger the Kalls to contact me. But after several variants of action/non-action, nix Phelonians (even deployed spy ship, landing with Galleon, etc etc) - SO, please, could someone tell me what exact order of events trigger them to TALK to me (not to mention actually giving me the battle tank plans...) ??? Me seriously starting to lose patience here.... :notrust: (I've read this whole thread, and google EVERYTHING, but still nothing...) Tried with the original CD, and the abandonia version... ....help ? |
Ayone have any comments whatsoever ?
Pretty please ? Of those of you that have completed the game, or just half way - could you tell me WHEN you are contacted by the Phelonians ? (and what you have researched by then) Is it immediately after you find their planet and approach it, or land on it with a Galleon ? Later ? Much later ? How many Mogruls waves has passed by ? * Oh, and the informant in the bar, what does it take to make him tell you about their planet ? |
To People having problems with the Version at abandonia, note that the cracked start.exe which is included is bugged, and it will crash the game.
I have tried this version on both an older dos machine, as well as through DosBox, and the exact same crash occurs. Then i finally got the orginal from another site, and then simply used the codes, which was downloadable separately from the manual. If you experience this crash, try getting the original exe. Cracked exes often make the game crash, as in this case. I would prefer the orginal exe was included as well, because the Manuel is not hard to get. I already finished the game a few times before, and i never had any problems progressing, i was asked about the enagon each time. Its pretty much straight forward, and i would say it would be hard to get stuck. In your case, try playing the game, instead trying to get things to happen. People say this game is hard, well i actually find it easy now that i'm older, and hopefully somewhat smarter. I didn't even understand English when i first finished it, which of cause was the source of the majority of the problems i had. |
Quote:
Not sure what you mean, otherwise ? As I was playing for at least another game year(!) after discovering Phoenix, with not much happening besides the Morgruls attacking me.... (and I don't think I can invade them successfully without Tanks, using just the Troop transports) Phelonians never spoke, no matter what I did in whatever order. For the record, I DO have the original CD, check my first post. |
reunion
You can really destroy reunion if you learn the best way to go about winning it. i can beat it in about 2 hours. I have a weird obsession with this game...every year or so i play it and refine my strategy for beating it lol. i set the taxes to oppressing right at the start then with my first bit of cash i buy the second level builder commander then i buy 4 hospitals, a vehicle plant, a stadium, 4 food resources, and 36 residential buildings ( yes 36 ). while keeping my power levels above 50% of course, which i think takes 2-3 nuclear generators. during this i set my taxes to very difficult, which becomes necessary after building the residential buildings or your colony will stop growing. This is all before i even get a researcher or anything else. This can give you about 10k credits every day. Now i buy the second level researcher and the first level pilot. I research satellites and buy 3 of them. I then launch one at the moon and then at zeus. I send my researcher to study electronics so he can research colony center when it becomes available. I put a mine on the moon. The moon is important cuz it uses the wind power plants. but doesnt require tons of medical plants and hospitals to maintain a large population. so build a colony on the moon first. Just as a side note i haven't built any mines or derricks at this point. on the moon you build a builder plant and a vehicle plant, a stadium, a leisure center, a church, a park, a university, 4 hospitals, 4 food resources, and 36 residential buildings. While keeping power levels above 50% with wind power, which takes about 8 or so wind power plants. then move on to zeus's moon penelope and and do the same thing and then onto amnesty 2 moon mir and repeat except you need to double the number of hospitals and build as many medicine plants so 8 of each. with all that youll be making anywhere from 20-30k credits a day. now start building mines on your home planet and putting miner droids in them. then move onto mir and build mines and a spaceport repeat on penelope then repeat on the moon. sometime in the middle of building the mines you should visit jade the last date possible is 2928-5-9-12 i always wait till the last moment to visit jade and get the communicator. once you get the transport ships buy ehm and start transporting all the resources to your home planet. You'll be making tons of cash by this point. as the money becomes available buy all the best commanders and you also need to build 80-100 derricks (yes i'm serious) all on your home planet. This takes a ton of nuclear generators as well but its necessary to make enough detoxin. sometimes around this point i buy another 36 buildings on the moon and on the main planet with another 4 hospitals and 4 food resources to go along with them. but you also have to drop your taxes to difficult and maybe even high for your population to grow any more, So there are trade offs. Again youll be making plenty of cash at this point so start building a constant stream of hunters. i normally get around 30-50 before the first attack. once the jaanosians are destroyed build 2 more colonies on there planets kepler and russel. Russel is an amazing planet for energon. you dont need to make them money producers just build all the happy making structures like the stadium, university and leisure center and then set there taxes to oppressive and they will grow slowly and wont bug you too much with there needs. build mines on them of course and get miner droids in those mines. You can get battle tanks before you even get twin laser guns if your quick enough. With this start you should have no problems crushing this game if you follow it closely and make sure you get all the good technology later on, just keep transporting resources and keep a constant stream of units producing. You quickly see that the real limit to how many units you can produce is how long it takes twin laser guns to build lol. By the end you can easily have 50 hunters 50 fighers 20 destroyers 10 cruisers and 50 missile tanks, Which is way more than enough to win the game. Ive left a lot of little details out like how exactly to get battle tanks and aircraft and the radio and all that stuff...but its covered elsewhere so get that info where its already posted

crash
Hi, i have a crash problem while playing reunion. Everything works fine until i start my first "colony", then it always crashes when i click on the "ship" menu.
Does anyone know a workaround or fix? |
Missing battle tank
It seems like I've missed out on getting the battle tanks in the second system. I've even killed the Kalls without battle tanks. I only have troopers. There's no way I can reach the Morgrul's main base with only troopers, though. Is there a way of adding the battle tank to my save-game file?
Thanks, warhawk |
1 out of 5, and that's being generous
I don't get why everyone is raving about this game. It sucks hard.
1. Time limit to do everything, and no way to pause or slow down. That would be fine if not for... 2. Terrible documentation that doesn't really explain anything. 3. Endlessly increasing uber-stacks of enemies = game cheats against you. Nothing stops ye olde rape traine. 4. Extremely repetitive gameplay due to an asstastic interface. You want to fetch minerals from your home planet's moon? Okay, go to the fleet window (1 click), pick the trade fleet you want (1 click), order them to take off (1 click), enter the course set window (1 click), pick your destination (1 click), and wait for them to get there. Then you have to manually land (1 click), manually go to the transfer screen (1 click), manually transfer what you want to the ship (several clicks), exit the transfer screen (1 click), take off (1 click), set course back to the home planet (2 clicks), wait again, then land (1 click), then manually go to the transfer screen (1 click), manually transfer what you want off the ship (several clicks), exit the transfer screen (1 click), and then you're done. Total clicks to get from A to B to A again with cargo: 16 or more. During this time, other things are happening, you'll be getting other messages, and you might be managing another fleet in the same way as well. What could have been a simple task is a massive journey of clicking through a dozen windows repeatedly. The Amiga game Deuteros, which came out half a decade before this one, starts off with a similar click-heavy interface, but it then lets you research automated shuttles which reduces this stuff to zero clicks. In fact, I get the impression that this game is trying really hard to be like Deuteros, and failing at it really badly. 5. It's possible to make mistakes without even realizing it, putting the game into an unwinnable state. You won't discover this until potentially hours later when you can't proceed. If you didn't keep a series of paranoid backup saves at regular intervals, you have to restart from zero. 6. Bugs, bugs, bugs. Also, an embarrassing amount of misspellings (phisics? colonysible?). 7. Every click, EVERY CLICK, is accompanied by a female voice announcing what you just did. After about 5 minutes, it makes you want to find the bitch and slit her throat. 8. You'll never know what you're supposed to build to support your planet, since there's no indicators of how adequate your facilities are. You won't know you need more farms until starvation has already begun. There's nothing in the manual explaining how many homes to how many farms is an appropriate number. In fact, there's nothing in the manual about most of the buildings, what they do, what they're actually good for. And the in-game descriptions leave *everything* to be desired. 9. When you get a new technology that you can research, the game announces it by telling you that the said technology "is fully researched". But it's only at that point that you can START researching it. 10. Satellite carriers to carry the satellites. Was this really REALLY necessary? Honestly? Especially given that each one can only carry one satellite anyway? It seems like the developers entered into a conspiracy to make launching satellites as difficult as possible. When the game first starts and you get your first satellite, you are LED TO BELIEVE that all you have to do is locate the planet you want a satellite on, and click the satellite button to launch one there. Then the game destroys that satellite, says NO THAT IS WRONG and makes you research and build satellite carriers, which you have to navigate manually like the trade ships, making it a click-fest all over again. 11. The only strategy guide written for this game implies that the only real way to win is to know in advance what is coming and build up your own uber fleet of death literally as soon as you are able to build the necessary craft. There is apparently no "right" way to play the game except to fail repeatedly and then invoke your in-game psychic powers to know what's about to happen. "Why are we building this massive invasion fleet, sir?" "Oh, to destroy the enemies we don't know we have yet, but which will start a rape train on us in about 5 minutes when we discover them." 12. These rape trains are triggered by exploring the wrong places at the wrong times, after which you're screwed if you don't have aforementioned uber fleet of death. This discourages the player from exploring at all. 13. There really is no story to this game, notwithstanding the intro. It's just a series of pointless, meaningless wars that either end with you sending an uber fleet to their home world, or them sending an endless rape train to yours. 14. Did I mention rape trains? 15. Did I mention LOTS OF BUGS THAT CRASH THE GAME? This is not attributable to dosbox, I assure you. It's just as unstable in real genuine DOS 6.22 I submit that everyone who says this game is good is either saying so because they perceive that everyone else thinks so (herd mentality) or else they remember it being good when they were young children in the early 90s, back in the days when gaming technology sucked and it was easy to mistake "complicated and stupid" for "deep and rich". The game is ass, and that's why no sequel was made, and that's why Amnesty Design changed their name to Digital Reality after they made it. To disavow that they ever did make it. |
I get a distinct feeling you didn't like the game.
:hysterical: |
having problems with overflows.
I haven't played the game in a while, and decided to start it up, and I was working fine until suddenly I started getting weird numbers. The price of satellites went up to 26,000,000,000 or something like that. When I tell it to buy 10, it buys 8 and costs me -46,000,000,000. When I attacked jade, the space force causalities were -2,000 hunters. So when I went back with my ground forces, the 2,000 hunters destroyed my space force.
Once I save a game in which an overrun occurs, it stays screwed up, and I can't tell when they are occurring. I've run it before with dosbox .72 and it worked fine. I tried it with dosbox .73 and that didn't help. Anyone have any thoughts? |
weird numbers showing up
Quote:
Now, the first time I played Reunion I did not know that there is a speed up feature and I also did not notice these "bugs" that are so often mentioned on the forum. Obviously, I lost the first couple of tries at Reunion because - well, like youmustbenuts said in section 11 of his/her rant: you have to know what's going to happen ahead of time. So, I tried playing the game again by using the sequence of saves which I had put together. It was *only* after I began using the speed up "feature" that I started noticing weird stuff going on - like losing a battle involving 8 of my fighters against 1 of their fighters and then getting a report that I lost 2000+ fighters , or that one where you try to invade Jade and there's a fleet of 200 Kall fighters that doesn't jive with your spy's report of the Kall fleet. After a few repetitions of reloading, speeding up and running into bugs, and paying attention to different counters, I came to the idea that these "bugs" are really just variations of one bigger counting critter which you will not see if you let the game run at its own pace - but which will surely show up as soon as you use the speed up feature. I hope that helps. I only ever made it to the point where I attacked the last opposing alliance race's homeworld (the homeworld of the race in system 6? with a picture of some kind of man bull in their description). I would win the space skirmish and I would win the ground battle itself but then some kind of error report would be displayed along with the victory report and the game would freeze. I briefly considered picking up again from an incorrupt save but the joy of the game had left me. For one, the resource transport system is a pain in the you know what; and second, I find it unfeasible to amass resources at the game's own pace (without using the "bug-inducing" speed up feature.) Ah, what a pity. |

I'll dig out my original CD and see if that version has the same bug. |
Thank you, areyounuts; That was truly interesting reading. :D

Bugs...
During my struggle to get the battle tank plans, I discovered one particular numbers bug:
- I am strongly convinced that it is triggered by the Supernova in the 4th solar system. It was very consistant, as the second the supernova 'video' was done, it would be pointless to add a miner droid due to the -3000ish in stock, as explained below. I notice this only because I have built an actual colony on the Keplar moon(don't remember which system it is in atm). If I want to add more miner droids to my mines, I HAVE TO be quick enough to do this(including building 9 mines) BEFORE the supernova, or else the stockpile number have changed into a negative -xxxx, and same goes for the 'Missile' item. - The 'plus' part of this is, that later, when I finally* get the battle tank plans(and researched them) as well as aircrafts!, the good folks on Keplar suddenly seem to have a huge stock of these, 2-5000+ !!.... (problem is then to produce enough lasers, heh !) *: after umpteen re-starts trying to get the Phelonians to talk to me, and still having no idea what triggered that spy in the bar FINALLY telling me about a new race in Phoenix system and their location/planet(Phoenix1) ! (as discovering it myself does not seem to trigger communications whatsoever) In my final attempt/restart I DID try to research things faster, gunning for the best researcher from get go, sacrifcing building too much stuff to pay the 250.000 + 1 or 2 upgrades, all so I could go to the Phoenix star system with a Galleon before the very first Mogrul attack - BUT, no idea if that really is the trick, though... I DO believe the cracked version actually IS worse when it comes to bugs, as my success was achieved with a full restart on a freshly installed original copy (acquired some time after I started playing). But even this one gives me the Keplar bug. ...mind you, I have not researched or tested this properly, like a professional QA tester would do, so there is most likely factors and random bugs that will affect things quite differently... but I'm just happy I finally got a bit further... As for this beeing a good game, weell... not really. I only play because I got some flashback looking at the control room screen on the Abandonia download page, obviously having (tried to) played it a long time ago but totally forgotten all about it! (weird feeling... as I normally remember the games I play) |
There are a few nice bugs in the game before (havent tried after patching)
later in the game when you get acces to the plasma gun, its possible to swap twin laser guns directly for plasma guns. how to do this: - make as many twin laser guns as possible - load them in youre cargo ships - go either to: Jade moon russel, jade moon keppler, zeus moon pennelope, new earth moon. (dont know for sure wich planet it was just make as many colonies as possible and try) - go to the colony and unload the twin laser guns. - you see the moment you unload the twin laser guns an equal number of plasma guns show up. - after you unloaded the twin laser guns fill youre cargo ships with plasma guns this bug can realy save you some recources during the war with earth (after you defeatedt the multiply system alliances) |
HI! Mirach system doesn't show up...
Hi everybody, I'm playing Reunion again after a long time but mirach system doesn't come availabe to expolre or even show up in the map...Can somebody tell me if i have do do something?I've beaten the third morgul wave and broken their alliance with the kalls, obteined the tank, reserched the spy ship, but nothing happens, just other waves or morguls arrive...Thanks.
|
Hi! Can anyone tell me what am i doing wrong. I cant build a base on other planet. I have a transport ship loaded with mining station. But still I cant do nothing. Please help!
P.S. Now I am in the stage where I found another star system. |

In order to research the colony, you have to have found a habitable planet, and I'm not sure but it's possible you have to have built a mine somewhere first. Even when you've done things like this, it will take a while before the research pops up. (Save your game, ultra speed through time to see if you've met the prerequisites, reload) |
Trading??
Need a little help here,
the manual said there's green for pirate armada and blue for trade armada but everytime I make an armada whether with a prate ship or not there's allways be green, not a big problem tho, so what I wanna ask is there's a way to trading with another peaceful aliens such as phelonians, erans etc |
Second best DOS game EVER!
Well, this game is only beaten by The Legend of Kyrandia, in my books, but nevertheless one of the best games I have ever played, including the so-called "modern", "graphically pleasing" and "intriguing" games.
What Starcraft2 is for the modern game, Reunion is for the DOS era... :-) Bliksempie:hello: |
talking with Syonians bugged
After they tell me what happened to earth,
there's a bug in my game that makes me only be able to reply with something like: z 3 ' C b v ! 6^& and then I get a blank reply, nothing happens; no last technology, no last solar system. I tried skipping time for quite a bit, but also won't help. (I do get messages about weapon and cargo shippigns in and around the earth system though >.<) I've tried reloading a bit before my last save, and replay the stuff, but same thing happens :( That Den save linked earlier isn't available for download (anymore). Would anyone please upload a save (for the abandonia version) sometime after triggering that event how it's supposed to be (either just discovering the new system, or before the final attack). I would be very thankful. This is driving me nuts. (cool game, but horrible bugs ><) Martin |
What the...!?
I love this game, but it's glitchy as hell.
Now I've found another glitch that does not allow me to get Energon from some planets! (Mainly Rocky planets, when I try to send some Energon to my ship, it transfers it to the planet instead, and I cannot get it back!) Does anyone know how glitchy the Amiga version is? If it's not so glitchy,or even not glitchy at all, I will play the Amiga version instead... |
Well, I remember they released Reunion New for PC which should be much better working... and I remember playing it back then... but I was unable to locate any info about it on the web now...

Not long ago I've read at some gaming site that somewhere around 2005, Reunion had been officially released as freeware by Digital Reality, but I can't find any official proof of that fact. Neither Wikipedia nor the developer's website even mentions this, and Googling yields no immediately relevant results too. Anyone heard anything of this? I think it's quite possible, as the game does not seem to be too well-known, that this event had been generally unnoticed...

I remember playing this back in '95, but game is hard as hell, I never got trough 3rd invasion...

it is nice to play again ( time of amiga 600+ )one so great strategy game and to see that more veteran gamers zijn I need your help for any tip or trainer , hex editor , for money cheers |

resource production
Hi all, just did some research, here is a table about the resource production of the first three systems:
planet detoxin energon kremir lepitium raenium texon colony new earth 7 3 2 3 no no yes apollo 5 1 3 1 9 - yes amnesty2 no no 2 2 3 4 no mir 5 7 1 2 5 - yes vostok no no no no no no yes klatoo barada no 5 no no no 2 no zeus ithaca no 2 3 no 2 2 no penelope no no no no 9 7 yes syren no no no no no no yes jade 9 2 2 3 no 9 yes russell 2 9 no no 8 4 yes wright no no no no no no yes hartmann no no no no no no yes galillei no 2 7 no no 6 no kepler no no 9 3 3 6 no phoenix1 no yes yes yes yes yes no phoenix2 no 2 5 3 2 3 yes phoenix5 no no no no yes no yes (phelonian) moon1 no no no no no no yes (phelonian) mirach2 no no no no no no yes mirach3 4 4 4 4 2 3 yes (morgul) moon1 no no no no no no yes (morgul) mirach4 no yes no yes no yes no moon1 3 3 2 1 3 8 yes moon4 no no no no no no yes mirach5 moon1 no no no no no no yes moon3 no yes no yes no yes no As far as I experienced the resource production is limited to certain number of buildings. You can build more but those won't produce. I'm not meaning the maximum of 9 mines / planet, but my first four colonies actually produced anything the rest - although had mines - not. Therefore it is very important to choose the right planets for mines which according to this should be the following: amnesty2/mir jade/russell (phoenix2) - produces more energon than apollo (2 vs 1) but not too much, can be skipped, but available much earlier than mirach3 mirach3 mirach4/moon1 jade apollo zeus/penelope is NOT necessary since you don't need texon to produce hunter/laser and after the defeat of jenossians you can have russell which produce texon. raenium is present on mir. apollo (moon of new earth) is also not needed for mining. I haven't tested that what causes this: the number of mines, or the number of colonies. |
Bugs in ore resources building up?
I was playing, trying to beat the game (this game really MAKES you try, really good in that way!) and noticed something odd. Sometimes, when I visited my colony on a different star system, I noticed how the ore levels seemed surprisingly low - even though I had fastforwarded for let's say a hundred ticks just now.
So, I used Cheat Engine to track the values of ore on different planets. This is what I noticed: Only the LAST SOLAR SYSTEM VISITED produced ANYTHING! If I looked at System 1 with New Earth on it, the ore amounts from New Earth started to build up. When I looked at System 2 with Phoenix 2 and my colony on that, the New Earth resources stopped building up and the Phoenix 2 resources started to build up again. Also: Sometimes when I look at the mines on Phoenix 2, (for example), the Energon production is 18 t/tpt. This is true sometimes, as the ore increses by 18 per hour. BUT sometimes it increases 36 per hour, and sometimes even 54! Just what is going on? The issues: 1) Resources stop building on other solar systems than the one last visited 2) Resources randomly build up by multipliers of 1, 2 or 3, in a seemingly random fashion and ONLY by whole numbers 1, 2 or 3. Anyone else experience these? |
More oddities
Seems that my Lyrae 7 is bugged once and for all, hence I can never eliminate the League to advance in the game. I've tried to load pre-Lyrae explored games only to find this same thing happening:
I cannot launch a satellite, spy-sat or, of course, a spy ship onto Lyrae 7 or moon 1. This is the planet you end up on once you enter the Lyrae system. So, I can never detect the Lisonian presence there - and therefore cannot start a ground for and thus eliminate the Lisonians and the League. I've come so far in the game only to end up like this! I'm not giving up. It's a fun game cause it makes you fight not only the game plot itself but also a myriad of bugs and glitches :D Really entertaining! It's like a meta-game, making the gamer use all kinds of tools and programs! Hex-editing, Cheat engine - not to cheat but to make the game work :D ahahaha |
A-ha!
Mwhahaha, I figured out a solution! I load a save where I haven't allied with the Undorlings - and never do that either! I'll just ally with the Lisonians instead (it will cost me the Aircraft but at least I can still play.. :D) so I'll never have to destroy them and so, beat the "can't send a satellite on Lyrae7"-problem!
Makes me kinda sad, mad + happy all at the same time, this one :D |
hello guys, i don't know if anyone still interested but i've discovered how to modify save file and add battle tank if you forget to get from Phelonians or Kalls...you have to open save file with hex editor and modify like in the picture

Hi to you all.
I am playing the Amiga version (with wUAE) and I encountered a problem. I don't know if it is a bug or I failed doing some right procedure. I made first contact with the Jenossians, researched the communicator and now it's ready. Am I supposed to buy/produce one now? Because I can't. The bottom bar says that I need only one of this stuff, but when I click on the BUY icon nothing happens. I can buy anything else but as in the case of the control center (which is built), I can't use the buy button on the communicator. Therefore I need to produce it in some other screen but where and how? Tell me if you have encountered this before. |

BTW i can't find that purple guy in the bar (Earthling that is supposed to give you information about alien that is controlling the Earth) could someone post a screen shot with big red circle where exactly he is, its driving me crazy :P |
The game is only hard in the period before you eliminate the Morgruls...
After you kill those you have unlimited time to build your space and ground forces so by the time you attack the league you can have loads of destroyers/fighters and 600+ Battle tanks fully armed. The only thing that always bothered me was that thinks could not be managed automaticly. Resources had to be collected and delivered to a planet by the player. Also colonizing worlds was important, but defending any world but New Earth was a waste of time, because no other world will ever be attacked. I always tend to play this game once every few years and might play it again before the year is over. It remains forever in my top 3 older games of all times... Colonization, Reunion and Master of Orion. |
Quote:
* Option for automatic transport routes (from planet A to B, with specific goods). * Option for automatic exploration (by satellites and/or trading group) newly discovered planets. * Brief (on one page) report of all colonies condition. * List of all natural resources available on known planets. Besides, this game has huge potential as a sandbox game, without rigid storyline (but still with essential artifacts placed on some random planets). Every new game should start with random planetary systems (with fresh characteristics) to explore. Then it would had incredible replay value. |

how do I play reunion using dosbox?

Im back
Hey :)
I was wonderinf if this game still crashes alot ? |
I was wonderinf if this game still crashes alot ?[/quote]
It crashes sometimes...but the main problem are bags you cannot avoid or load earlier saved game. For example, one time Hitachi has over 4000 launchers) after I escaped the battle 3000 were killed automatically. But there were still too many launches and you can't win win with tanks or aircraft. I can add that using cheat I tried to save jennosuans and sent destroyers to defend them. No way, they will die anyway. At the and if the game I met human from earth. She asked me for help with money for revolution and also asked to kill three leader telepath. After sending killer he was really killed, but nothing happened. She appeared again with the same words, but that was no killer at bar any more) So I afraid there is no alternative end, or it was bagged too. |
problem
I can't get the game to run :(
I tried every sound setting, but the game crashes during the intro - so I played without sound. But as soon as the intro is finished, the mouse is stuck. Does anyone else have this problem, and maybe even an idea to fix this issue? |
Just installed it, work's fine for now
Thank you for this game! Such a precious jewel of strategy...
Played this on Amiga for first time, than tried it on PC, but always the same problem (no freaking tanks :suspicious: , now i read all of this 34 pages) but now I want to play it again, and like 17 years later try to finish it... Thank you guys for info, I'm gonna contact you in few days :OK: |
No tanks? That's strange.
|
[quote=marko river;466325]No tanks? That's strange.
Got those tanks :) I was playing amiga version, witch is different (at least mine is), but now game just freeze, after like 3 hours of game every time I jump to galactic map it just freeze, and there is (and I'm totally serious about this) some strange screen with something like mushrooms and everything else it's just fuzzy... Don't know, tried it 3 times, almost every time same bug... BUUUUT I'm not surrendering gonna play this until i finish it :smugulon: And you are hired  I saw that  but I never hire him :) P.S. Just one Q for you :) (koji deo BG-a?) |
Hmmm, aren't mushrooms part of jungle planet scenery when you land on it? Maybe it mixing what to display and breaking. I didn't have this problems, although I heard lot of stories that game is buggy in the second half, only my bugs didn't prevent me from playing. Good luck then with your persistence :)
P.S. Auuu moram da update-ujem account, ne zivim u BG vec godinama :D A i drzavu bih mogao da updatujem kad malo bolje pogledam :D |
Nope I'm totally assured that mushroom bug is actually simple bug (not one of that green planets surface), now there is no bug for now... Been playing for like hours yesterday and nothing, we shall see :max:
P.S. Meni te opcije uopšte ne prihvata, stavio sam mesto i grad ali ništa i dalje kaže updejtovano, a onda stoji N/A :oh: |
Yeah, could be our website is a bit buggy... I mean there are lot of bugs, could be changing adress is one of them.
Anyway good luck with Reunion bugs. The game does deserve to be completed, although I'm sad it didn't add even more diplomacy. Good game still. |

I will add more details. • I do not know if the Game Wizard works on Winsows 95; • I would like a more detailed and complete Walkthrough - Wikipedia gives an overview since the beginning to the end of the game; • The Game Wizard is very versatile, because I remember it worked on Syndicate (before we know the cheat codes), Master of Magic, Gods, etc. It was a wonderful Mega Trainer / Editor... :OK: • The Game Wizard leaves you so powerful that you are able to defeat the last hostile alien race. I remember my brother had a powerful squadron that was defeating the enemy squad when it suddenly boomed! Big Bang! And the game has always crashed on the same spot so be abandoned forever... :headslap: :palm: :picard: In relation to marko river... • He only needed to have an avatar among the Admins, Updaters and Mods in Realms of Abandonia :ninja: :frodo:; • I think the marko river just does not have the Elite, Staff and Grammar Squad badges. :yahoo: :smugulon:  EDIT: Unless someone releases a bug fix patch to the game Reunion, I doubt anyone will be able to reach the end of the game. If anyone managed to finish the game, there must have been quite a few players. And no wonder there are just a few walkthroughs about the game and only with information with few details. I have a lot of desire to play the game, but I prefer to avoid the frustration of not being able to finish the game merely due to the bugs. :lame: EDIT: It would be nice if GOG.com tried to fix the bugs of the game and release it on its store... EDIT: I may be mistaken, but maybe after and epic stellar battle, it would be the last step before humans could return to Earth. Unfortunately, bugs in the game do not allow humans to reunite with their fellow humans on the home planet. Lost in space forever... I sincerely hope that GOG.com can offer this game with the other classics (Dune series, Gods, Flashback, etc.) to its customers. |
Hi, all!
I have played this game since I was a teenager (mid 1990's)! I have developed some kind of obsession with it... Anyway, since Dosbox was launched, I never had trouble making it work. Also, after all these years, I have written a guide to it, available in Gamefaqs (I won't put the link here because I don't know if this breaks the forum rules).:max: Quote:

• Bad copy mentioned by you with corrupted files; • (Old) Game patch with bugs. Bugs of Sam & Max have already caused problems, but those do not compare with bugs of FFVIII :hairpull: :wall:. Probably the bugs of FFVIII are comparable to the bugs of Reunion; • Use of the editor / trainer GameWizard at this point in the game; • Unknown causes? By the way, thank you for the Walkthrough / Guide. :kosta: Unfortunately, Reunion does not have many tips or guides in an organized way (Walkthrough, Guide, etc.)... :headslap: |
I copied the files of my original CD to the hard drive a long time ago (and have been copying this image when I get new hardware). Here, it works perfectly. No bugs that compromise the playthrough.
Lucky to you all! :OK: |

Depending on the file size, the link for game could be made available in Forum The ISO Cellar. We would be grateful for your offer. :OK: |
Just finished sorting the game to work on DOSBox for myself, so of course I had to check its Abandonia topic before I depart :)
Here is best DOSBox tip I can offer: use Gravis Ultrasound for sound! The quality is superb compared to Adlib/SB variants. I even think the music was composed specifically for it - that's how better it sounds. And speech is there too. For Gravis to work you'll have to run game's own SETUP.EXE and choose it [1.], then change following DOSBox lines in .conf: Code:
sbtype=none @Hlges Thanks for the Guide! How is 2018 treating you? :max: @Mystvan Looks like the ISO Cellar already has the CD-Image :) |

My great regret is that many tools like GameWizard no longer work on the latest Operating Systems... PS: |
