Good old game, very funny. Can still remember playing it when I was young.

A little hint if you need money (and you will need a lot):
Buy 3 wothless Players you never want in your team, then let them train for about half an hour as frontmen (tactical or offense style). Afterwards, go directly to the market and sell them, although they are still bad players with bad skills, their morale is extremly high and you can sell them for about 7000-10000 apiece. Do this several times, try to visit every city in the first league and buy all bad players, train them and then sell them. If you donīt, you will soon run out of money, because later taxes will become very high (much like today). You will also need money to buy better and more specified players in later regions.
Beware, once you defeated all teams in one league, you canīt go back and play there again. So take your time and make lots of money early.

When you arrive in the last area (Ice), try to replace your whole team with scorpions as they are the best players and very strong - you will need them for the final.
Watch out for "Teut Busnet" (not completly sure about his name) in the first city, he will be your best frontmen in the middle until the Ice region.

It seems also very difficult to score 4 points in a row, if you got the first 3 goals, the computer will win nearly every fight and try to score itself. Afterwards, fight will become easier again, although the computer always wins more fights than you do.

Have fun, and break some bones. For real fun, try to win by eliminating so many enemy players that they have to surrender. :rifle:

Here I was, thinking there could never be a game to tide me over until I get Mutant League Football for my Sega Genesis back (or, to be accurate, until I get the Genesis repaired), or until I save up enough cash to order Chaos League from the UK. This game is going straight into my DOSBox as soon as I get off work!

Really funny game. I remember how we laughed about the stupid words they invented for AGES!

"I'll give you what, you Flonk!"
"Make me you Elfum."

Played it on C64 (i think..or was it Amiga? I'm getting easily confused as i owned most major systems over the time)

Now it goes to DOSBox...Whoopeee!

<update>No, definitely C64. I'm pretty sure.

Loving this game, but I only have time to play the quick Action mode: but in this, I can only play with very limited players: would it be the case that more creatures get 'unlocked' as you progress in the campaign mode?

If anyone has a save game where they've opened the whole game up, that would be particularly sweet :D

laiocfar 11-11-2005 04:14 PM

In last cup u need to got an army of players, they die too quickly :ok:

In Windows XP, there are lots of bugs :

Big Lag when I try to buy a men
Strange Song without end.

And many more...

So I've get DosBox.
But I don't understand how run the game with the DosBox.

Thx for Help. :tomato:

laiocfar 05-11-2006 01:17 AM

Run dosbox, dosbox is a fake DOS where you mount fake units to run old programs, example.
"mount c: c:/games"
"c:"
"cd muds"
"muds"
Each line between " is a command follower by an enter strike
c:/games is any folder where you save the old games. The first c: can be any letter since its a the fake unit. The rest is just like in DOS. if you dont found the executable or a folder type dir

You might want to check out the official DosBox FAQ, and particularly this part of it. It is quite helpful for users unfamiliar with DosBox.

Just a hint how to win:
I never played the arcarde mode but the campain is fun!!
First: ever forget to make a bet
second: Buy front players that wont be eaten by the monster (like the first blockers or the "lion" mans)
third: use blockers for the front and humans for the defense (until u reach the last league) and beat your opponent down ;)
that's it !

laiocfar 13-04-2007 05:13 AM

Monster is easy to avoid, maybe strikers that wont be eaten is enough. Also i use a full human players team. They got good stats for all positions. And for third cup, watch out maybe players will die by failing to ground. Have extra reemplacements.

Ede Frede 05-06-2007 08:14 PM

I loved this game so much, always let the computer play it, because the controls suck :wallbash:

But as mentioned Teut Busnet was always one of my favourite characters (maybe a little over-enthousiastic jumping in the water)

My favourite Name in the game was Ede Frede :-)

Some hints... try to collect all the 5 women characters in the game, if they got fouled the opposing player has to leave the field....
... at the ice fields... let only scorpions play.. when the monster comes it will die instead of eating the players

Have fun, I love this site :brain:

Co-ordinates

I downloaded this game but don't know how to get into it because there is no manual! Does anyone know where I can find this?

Much appreciated!

arete 26-10-2009 02:33 PM

Use dosbox. You can get it from our programs page under 'services'. You'll find tutorials in the troubleshooting section of the main forum.

Luchsen 26-10-2009 02:46 PM

He probably meant that he can't get into the gameplay, not the game itself.

That is correct Luchsen. I need the manual to let me get into the gameplay as at the moment, it will only get me into demo-mode.

So, anyone with a spare photocopy/pdf file of the manual lying around?

Cheers, Simon

Luchsen 26-10-2009 02:55 PM

Download the muds-m.zip from here. Or read the Amiga manual - if it is of any help.

Much appreciated Luchsen, but unfortunately it does not have the all-important co-ordinate listings! Very frustrating. Thankyou so much for your efforts but unfortunately I may have to go MUDS-less! Surely somebody else on this forum knows the co-ordinates though?

Cheers, Simon

Question?

Hello,

i really want to play M.U.D.S but unfurtunately I can't install it (or lets say i'm too stupid~ v,v"). I read the dosbox tutorial - and when i tried to install it, dosbox answered 'illegal command'. so i tried 'config' and it answered:
'config tool:
use -writeconf filename...[and so on]'
but now i don't now what to write... oO" sorry for asking so stupid but i can't find any .txt or .doc documents in the download.

greez kinin

The Fifth Horseman 02-08-2011 03:27 PM

This game doesn't come with any installer or setup program. You run it by running muds.exe and that's that.
