HA HA! well any way any one played renalert? Its a mod for C&C renegade. It takes all units from C&C Red Alert 1 and puts em in renegade.

isn't that still a WIP?

anyway, I bought red alert the original game, yesterday.

I got Red Allert in a three for one box for 5 Gulden (1 euro is 2.2205 Gulden) when all I wanted was the extra missions for WC5. Never played it seriously and never played a mod for it.

I can't remember the amount of time I spent playing warcraft 2 wuth a friend of mine over my modem, We'd spend about 25 minutes troubleshooting for about 40 minutes of play, but at least back in those days you could save a multiplayer game.

u can save a lan multiplayer game in Warcraft 3:Reign of chaos or Ther Frozen Throne...

(I just love saying that name of the game)

WarCraft 2 was a very good game and seeing how this site is dedicated to old games, the people on it are more likely to to like older games. Plus, WarCraft 2 had this cute charm to it which 3 has lost in favour of more realistic graphics.

IMO W3 didn't lose anything, but in fact added many great things(heroes not limited to campaign, etc.) Anyway i think it was a great risk(new graphics, new gameplay, new races, new strategies... they changed a lot), but in the end i would have to say that W3 is better than W2.

True enough, but I would say Warcraft 1 is better than Warcraft 2.

WC3 is stupid. The great success of Diablo 2 made them make WC3 more RPG. The whole game is just getting a level 10 hero and owning their whole army and then using the return to base scroll or whatever. They got rid of ships which was really stupid. I think the graphics are the only nice thing, but in my opinion graphics don't matter that much unless they're REALLY nice (Halflife 2, Doom 3). The graphics are blinding you from the bad gameplay =P

I disagree, the gameplay style has changed a bit from the last game in WC3 but the gameplay is still good and the RPG charactor development element made the game interesting and made you want ti carry on with the game. Also, the story was exellent.

Yes i agree the loss of ships is a setback but the gameplay more than makes up for that

I really like dark reign and ut2004. Ithink that cc: generals is quite mediocre becuse in multiplayer it does not give you enough time to develop a really good and perfect working army.
In my opinion the best rts taking place in the future is Earth 2150. What do you think :wink:

Is dark reign abandonware? It could be included in the site ince I thing it's a dos game. In few months/weeks interplay will be closed so Fallout will be abandonware. It's a shame that they canceled Fallout 3. I think that the launch of its demo would make the company shares reach a record

It's a post apocalyptic rpg (it's on the box). It's just great. It has great dialog even greater quests. I can't get enough of it. If you happen to come in Greece it's being sold in a pack with fallout 2 (not that good) at the kiosks by a magazine.

I wanna go to greece and see the Temple of Athena and Zeus..

I prefer Baldur's Gate I+II. Never played Fallout though... 8)

Fallout 3 has not been cancelled, it is now being made by Bethesda Sotfworks, who made Morrowind which is one of my favourite games so it should still be a hit.

They are fantastic RPGs easly on par with baldurs gate 1 and 2 and torment. Seriously if u like rpgs ull like the fallout games (except tactics).

FreeFreddy and Kiddiarni relly go out and play fallout 1 and 2 they are so fucking good.

Fallout graphics do fall a little short (Fallout Tactics is an exception). The gameplay is excellent however and you will have fun playing it.

man in number 2 if u kill someone the right way his model just stands there and u see the bullets impacting with him, his body shudders from the impact it is so cool

fallout 1 and 2 are like immortal games that will always be very sweet
it will take a hell of a game to live up to that standard, let alone surpass it.

Fallout is an RPG, based a few decades after a worldwide nuclear war, so everywhere is a desert a there are mutants walking around etc. There are only a few humans left and they live in cities made of scrap metal and other junk, and people who have retreated underground, you play one of these underground people, you have lived there all your life, but the water filter (or something vital like that) breaks and you need to go to the surface to find another, you only have 200 days (I think) to find another one. It's a very good game and is unique in that you can do the entire game by just talking instead of fighting if you like, and it is just as entertaining, yiu can even persuade, lie and promise your way through the boss at the end of the game :) . Hope that answers your question.

And you have that nice option of being able to sell your crew-members as slaves if they get on your nerves! :twisted:

Fallout 3 is going to be terrible. As much as I liked Daggerfall and Arena, Bethesda is just going to butcher it by making it a first person Morrowind clone. I really don't have too much hope for it, the magic of Fallout was that it was third person, or at least that's part of it. I think Bethesda is just going to dumb it down... It's a good thing I live a few miles from Bethesda, I'll just burn it down... You heard nothing. :whistle:

Yes, change could be disastrous. But as far as I have heard Bethesda was talking about how they are going to start doing Fallout 3 all over again ignoring what Interplay did so far on Fallout 3. Interplay was half-finished with Fallout 3 when they sold it to Bethesda. The screenshots of Interplays Fallout 3 were great.

Bethesda is making a new Fallout 3 and they said that they are going to make new grafics. Those snapshots show a game that is canceled. Probably for ever.

I think that it can't be first person because you cannot count your moves as easily as with the red-tiles system

You really should be open to new gameplay's. I mean, the old doom was great but they couldn't just remake it. I bet a new RPG in the fallout universe in 3d would be awesome. I loved morrowinds scenic / epic landscapes. I would love to see what bethesda could do with it.

I only have 2 suggestions

They need BETTER coders
And better modellers / texturers

But fallout is excellent as is. A tb rpg cannot be first person because ap allocating would be terribly difficult
