A nice free picture editor. It may not have all of the photoshop options - but it's better than paint and is very intuitive.

A free 3D modeler. Wasn't been made for complex projects, but is very usefull at teaching how to create 3D objects.

This might come in handy for some. It's a multi-layer XCF file containing template for comic page margins and panel divisions.
The 50%, 25% and 33% divisions are on separate layers, so you can mix and match for different panel sizes and proportions. Don't be afraid to experiment!
