Actually, the nice thing about Commander Keen, (and other Apogee games) is that some of the episodes are available as shareware. Hail Apogee, and all other producers of Shareware :kosta:

Commander Keen 6 IS abandonware. This means you can actually put it up on the site.

This is true. The game rights are owned by Atari these days (they bought GT Interactive, which earlier had purchased FormGen that developed the game) and they're not selling the game. 3D Realms has ran out of their stock. The CGA version has been on id Anthology, but that's not available anywhere anymore, either.

And my apologies to Omuletzu. Concerning the game(s), be sure before posting to request a title that it's truly abandonware: ie, not offered for sale new, through any online retail store. That makes the chance of it's being accepted at least reasonable.

The Keen games, AFAIK, you can still buy from Apogee/ID Software/3d Realms/Whatever they're called now.

The Keen games aren't even that hard to find if you look around - they're not bad as games but it's often a lot of saving/reloading everytime you die. Aliens ate my Babysitter was one of my first shareware games back in 1993! I didn't even know what a demo was back then.
