Hey! This is a really fun game! I played it shortly at a friend's house when I was younger and remember loving it :kosta:

Very much fun indeed! This helped me out a bit though... it's a brief manual!

When Oscar arrives at the cinema, he walks into the foyer and sees the entrance doors to the various movies now showing.

The World Selection Screen:
These doors are where you are able to select which film World you wish to play. The Worlds can be completed in any order

World Doors:
Beside each of these doors you can see a poster depicting the film of the World you will enter through that entrance.

Bonus Doors:
These doors have Question marks on them. You can only enter a bonus door after you have completed a World, and you will be given a prompt as to when this is achieved. Note each World's Bonus door is situated close to the World door itself.

To enter a door select DOWN on the joystick / Keyboard.

Once you have selected and entered a World you will be told the NUMBER OF STATUES OF OSCAR you need to find to exit this land and that is excatly what you'll have to do. Have some fun with this game...

Doggy, Reup posted a nice manual indeed, just pres the down button when you come near the entrance of screen.

And you can start to play;)

It's a nice old game, but I must confess I have some pet peeves. <_<
While picking up Oscar's and other bonuses is all well and good, what can you pick up to recharge your energy or get extra lives/continues?
And how can I survive the level with only 3 life points and enemies that sometimes appear before I can react to them? :tai:

Hello! First i downloaded Oscar from this website, and now I can't get it to work, the only thing that comes up is the startup splash screen, and a message appears: "Please enter the word at - page 02 line 5 word 5 - including all titles and headings". im using dosbox 065 in win xp

I can't get the shoot option to work. All other commands work fine.
Any ideas?

You don't shoot to the enemy. You jump on them like in Mario.

So how do you get through blockades?
There is supposed to be a yoyo button.
You get to choose 5 control buttons: up, down, left, right, and shoot/yo-yo
but the fifth does not work no matter which button i choose to represent it.

You have to find the yoyo to be able to use it against walls. It should be somewhere in the level. At least that's how I remember it was. I haven't played this game for quite some time...
