Black_Hand - Star Trek Judgement Rites manual + boxshots of Dominus
hi,
the title says it all, would you be interested? i own them both (original), star trek is only a standard edition, not that collectors edition one from the box shots already there. i might even add the shots of this regular version, if youd like to. the manual for judgement rites might come in two forms, PCX files right of the CD (yes it is the cd version), or scans, altough i have to warn you that the printed manual has a funny printing error, it lacks numbers of stars on the copy protection map, but that is no problem, since you have the copy protection picture there already. so are you interested? |

will send you FTP-Info in a PM. |
Wow, really nice. Of course we want them. :) About the manual, you can add the PCX images in a zip file (I assume they came on the original CD). It would've been nice though, if you can make a PDF file out of them instead. But zipping them is also fine, so don't worry.
You can upload both the Dominus and Star Trek stuff using the ftp instructions I'll send you in a PM. Of course you can also upload those boxshots of the different Star Trek - Judgment Rites edition. PS: ok, Paco will send you the info instead. He was faster. |
ok, pulling out my camera, itll be ready in no time.
|
We can always compile PDF's (or I could) of the image files that Black_Hand uploads...
|
oh man...it is too dark here already. i started lining it up right after i posted it but it happened really fast,...omfg, plus if i try to do it with a flash, then it gets reflected on the boxes (of course). as a result of that, ill have to take the shots of judment rites box and cd (front and inside) tomorrow.
i got a few good ones of the back side of cd of judgment rites. i also took a good one of the first page of manual, which is NOT included among the PCX images on CD as well as front and back side, and it is nice, since it is an introduction plus some autographs of the authors (dont freak out, they are just printed, not handwritten :P). dominus boxshots turned out ok, along with a shot of of manual and diskettes (8 of them). now i just have to compile those PCX manual pages into one PDF and im ready to go. btw, i think itll be for the best to include the shots of the frontside, backside and the introduction page of the manual in that PDF. as i said, they are not present on the CD, but they are definitely part of the manual. |
dont worry i can handle it
|
ok, so dominus boxshots are there so is the manual for star trek. i've accidentally put there unzipped version of the manual, and then tried to upload the zipped one, thinking i could delete delete the non-zipped one... :wall:  well i know silly me, why would you have such a general account as "incoming" having other rights than for upload. whats worse i stopped the upload of the zipped one...so yeh it is most likely corrupted. so the ok version is the PDF version NOT the ZIPped one.
ill have the boxshots for star trek ready tomorrow as i said before. enjoy. |
boxshots of star trek have been uploaded, enjoy.
|
Ok, thank you. :)

btw, is interplay still part of ESA? ive read somewhere they arent anymore. that could mean unprotection time right? there are some links, for ST 25th Anniversary in ISO Cellar, and one of them features Judgment Rites too, altough the links seem to be a bit quirky. anyway if youd ever be in need of ISOs of either of those, id be happy to oblige :). Judgement Rites CD is 604MB, packed 569MB, and 25th Anniversary is 520MB, packed 252MB. on the other note. would you beleive that i bought these two ST games blindly, totally unaware of how awesome they are? i stumbled upon them in a bargain bin at our local market back in the 2nd half of 90s (my guess is it was around 1998). when i started playing 25th Anniversary it blew me away, since it featured a lot of something that even THE masterpiece (yeh i know its subjective) of adventure games, mighty indiana jones and fate of atlantis didnt have in abundance, that is multiple solutions to most of the challenges. i was shocked by just how many ways there were to finish a mission. and thats just one aspect of it. for me these two ST games would be one of the fundamental ingredients for the ultimate ST game, along with Bridge Commander (can you imagine how cool THAT would be?). |
Yes, we're considering a reevaluation of their status. But it's also probable that we have the ISOs of the games. We'll say if we need them. :) If there is an entry in the ISO Cellar you can upload your own links in the Requests thread in the forum section. The game will probably unprotected on site, anyways.

How do the camera pictures of boxshots look compared to scanned ones?
That could be loads quicker, if they are of a fairly good quality, for getting copies of stuff that isn't required to be perfect. Not that scans are either, but they can be shopped to look as good as that. |
Actually they're really good compared to what I've seen before. Almost the same as scanner-quality.

ive done some more cleaning up and ended up with this: http://img686.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=backwj.jpg the "more" edited ones that arent in the uploaded batch are 2, 5, 7. number 3 is present in the batch so no need to fix that one. and yeh, keep laughing at fish eye :), i must have been blind not to see it before. :omg: |
Cool - what camera are you using, Black Hand?
They came out pretty good. |

so do you want the new ones on the FTP, or imageshack is enough? |
Oh yeah... :p I never really used imageshack before.
I think putting them on the FTP would be the best move, as that's all someone else would have to do in order for them to be sorted out. Nice one geeza |
coming to think of it, i still have a 5,25'' box filled with 3,5'' floppies. i do have like 2 games that you dont have here....but you know how was it back then with...well....buying games, now add to it that im from central europe, where buying games was damn near impossible, you get the picture.
what ive dug out are two things LHX, Morkin 2. i have no idea if the floppies are still in shape. after more than a decade it would be a miracle. since i dont have a floppy drive in my current PC (ha!, i know), ill be able give it a try on monday, what do you think? |

Morkin 2's Moby page says it's a freeware title. I guess that means it is for Reloaded.org. Paco or TA will say.
I'm sure that AR would love to have it and the images if we don't host it :D LHX was good fun, but Jungle/Desert Strike was more fun on Megadrive. I never played the PC version - hope you can get the floppies working :rocks: |

ok then, ill take a look into it on monday. EDIT: oh my i think i found another one on the floppies you dont have here The Cycles: International Grand Prix Racing. |
Actually we have both games, LHX and The Cycles already [ON FTP], so we don't need them anymore. But thanks for the offer anyways. :)
