Sebatianos 04-01-2005 10:46 PM

I was wondering how many visits we got recently, because the game discussion thread always has more then one page of new replays when I log in - and what did I see???
We broke the record.
We had 52588 visitros on Monday!!!

Did anyone notice???

If so - how come no-one posted about it (at least I haven't seen any posts).

Koen 04-01-2005 10:48 PM

Congrats!!! :Brain:

Rogue 04-01-2005 11:23 PM

Puffin 05-01-2005 05:28 AM

It's great!!!
:Brain:

FreeFreddy 05-01-2005 08:58 AM

I didn't notice it until you told it now (I was relatively busy the last days), but it's cool to know that our glory is growning! :D
Unfortunately also the bandwidth use...

Maikel 05-01-2005 09:39 AM

Our averages grew also. beginning of the month it was hanging around 30k. Last couple of days it's always around 49 / 50k , except on newyears eve off course :)

The Niles 05-01-2005 09:45 AM

I noticed but it is an insignificant increase over the last record. The true growth of the site is in the average visitor increase.

Omuletzu 05-01-2005 10:36 AM

Yup just watch as Abandonia makes history! :tomato:

If you have Opera, you can get it to auto-refresh a page up to once/5 sec.. now just open 20-30 of them, and let it work overnight... ;)

Should tick in @ 14k'ish loads :)

MasterGrazzt 06-01-2005 02:03 AM

But that's a crime on the same level as ballot stuffing, Titan.

Or spinning the subway turnstile. Take that, Toronto Transit Commission. For your inflated rates, I now inflate your records!

Well, good thing we have a unique visitor counter to ;)

it's around 14k

goblins 06-01-2005 07:12 AM

with the increase in visiotrs - has that corresponded with an increase in banner ad revenues ? the extra bandwidth has to be paid for somehow - i know i click on each new one that comes up (google rotates the ads) no more than 4 times each a day but it is 5c a pop

Still good to see more visitors = more interest guess though it would be a large number of visitors coming over from HOTU which has been down (forum wise) and no new updates since november - hence a lot of them probably surf through here.

Just loving it :ok:

Sebatianos 10-01-2005 03:41 PM

Yup - 57544 so far... Look out Underdogs (we're closing in on you - in a really long long time).

Danny252 10-01-2005 06:43 PM

we shall rule the old games scene!!

Tulac 10-01-2005 08:27 PM

I just took a look at the stats and yesterday we had 19183 unique visitors to the site(not just the forum) that's a record!!

Maikel 10-01-2005 10:10 PM

Though it's nice to be big (as it is a sign we do a great job) It also brings a lot of problems. Things like the forum get less organized, things start to slow down. Etc etc. We'll also loose a lot of personal contact with the members of the forum, because it will be to many.

Big sites / companies / generally everything that's big always seem to get bad reputations because of that. Think of Gamespy, Microsoft, The-underdogs.org, etc etc.

Predator 11-01-2005 07:45 AM

Maybe that will happen here too. Perhaps not that fast, but it surely will.

Maikel 11-01-2005 08:35 AM

not if we start becoming hostile against new people! :Titan:

:D

Predator 11-01-2005 11:27 AM

I take your words as the opening call for hunting. :sneaky: Let's get the sculls of the guests!

Maikel 11-01-2005 11:29 AM

uhmm....I guess I shouldn't say that kind of stuff in front of predators!

The Niles 11-01-2005 01:17 PM

Being big also has advantages. The income from adds rises and with that it becomes possible to get a larger server. That then opens up new posibilites to upload bigger games.

As an admin I have realized that it has become increasingly difficult to keep reading everything that is writen on the site and I also realize that as an admin I have increasingly become more isolated from the rest of the forum. I regret that but it is the price to pay for both doing my job and the succes of the site. I think the advantages outway the disadvantages.

I think it`s already starting things like this :ok:

But we can make it...just do the best you all could :ok:

Can you explain why Picard...

I think admins just got more rights and that doesnt make them automatic isolated from others...

As long you`re fair to others they wont isolate you...so you can still be one of us :ok:
