I think that your first idea is cool, although you will need more colors! :D I remember that a lot of those ads you mention used color characters so at to provide a "background" to their ansi art. And at least epice megagames also used a black box with text in the middle of all the ansi.

And your idea of modify the exe... I don't like it. Yeah, it could be cool and all but... it will require to mess with the binaries of the game, and the game will be no longer the original game... I know we have some ripped version of games, but that is because of bandwidth... and usually we have the full version in the ISO cellar.

Besides, reverse engineer the game code to do something that it's not required to play the game goes against the ethic of respect copyright, except insofar as to make the game playable and available in the face of the abandonment of it (I hope I have not messed up my english, there).

But, I repeat, I like your first idea... specially if the get it button is just after that or INTO that :D... although the last one is not as easy to integrate as the first one.

I could be wrong, because I don't play one of those games since a lot ago... when I get back home, I will try one and tell you (or post a screenshot).

And I wasn't bad-mouthing your ASCII arts, I was just saying something that I'll like, nothing else. I think that your ASCII arts skills are cool! Although I haven't posted on your ASCII art thread, I like it ;)

No, it's not that it seemed like you though that my criticism was bad criticism (Is that sentence even legal?), it's just that you stressed that it was just an example and I though that maybe I came across as rude or something. Blame my feeble english skills.

And no, I messed up: epic megagames just prints text in different colors, that's why I though about an ascii art with a lot of colors and such. But my memory played it on me: I have just checked two epic megagames that I have and realized that I was wrong. Sorry to disappoint you ^_^

Ha, love the invader and the r2 :). Even if it will not be used, they are great!

Well the invader stays here as it is Abandonia's Invader.
The idea goes elsewhere to be used, as it is mine.

I've given this project to another site since there was no interest shown.

The Invader Ascii's that I did will stay as Abandonia images, however, so you can do what you like with them - the others, though, you can't use.

I've checked this and they aren't content of the site as they are hosted on my own pages - just linked (and AB doesn't own links, else AB would own a lot of youtube stuff, for example).
There's no problem with me applying this idea at another site, so that is what is being done.
