MMORPG suggestions

(or should this go in the multiplayer section...?)

I wanna play an MMORPG. BUT heres the catch. I dont want one of those everyday games where the higher your level the stronger you are. I want games where everything is more, oh i guess you could say "skill based"

Any ideas?

You should definitely try Savage and Savage 2. :)

Even though they are not real MMORPG, they still fit your description well.

Sooner or later, Infinity:The Quest for Earth is bound to release. It's still in development but you can be assured that it's skill-based.

Ya know, I also wanted to try these 2 out. I know it combines RPG and RTS elements. Are these 2 good?

Actully EoF, thanks allot for re-kindling my memory! When i had my old computer i saw those, and really wanted to play them but, my old pc couldn't run them, so naturally, I couldn't play them! But now I can, so ima try them out :D

And that infinity game looks really cool, too, but isn't it copying EVE jsut a little? :p thx.

With action mixed in, I might as well add. Even a bit of FPS/TPS. :) Highly original game. My only experience is the second one, though.

Try Runescape, you have it everything, skills that you can do a lot with and which are a firm part of the game, every month new additions / useful changes to the game, Easter / Halloween / Christmas Special Events with unique items. You can also play for free for as long as you like, with around 35% of the game concerning available skills, items and game world.

Runescapes the exact reason i want different MMORPG's. Its like everyother game. The higher your level, the better you are. I want a game hat doesn't just require levels, the players themselves gotta be good

Sadly, I don't think you're going to find ANY MMORPG that relies on player skill. The MMORPG world is dominated by hackers, dupers, bots, scams and more. No player skill, no fair play, none. At least, that's what I've seen.

However there are games that aren't MMORPGs but are multiplayer and really require skill... Like as Eagle mentioned, Savage. :)

runescape's got to be the worst "mmorpg" ever

Indeed.

I actually have to agree with that. No MMORPG have thrown me off as fast as RuneScape did.

It was boring. So fucking boring. Not because of the crappy graphics. I'm no graphics ho'. It was just boring. Plain boring. I actually did give it several tries as well (before AND after the ''huge'' graphic update). Boring through and through.

I'm glad I have a decent internet connection so I can actually DOWNLOAD my MMORPGs. And fast, too; Most are downloaded within the hour. Even 2GB ones; I get 1.3MB/s (NOT Mb - but actual megaBytes) @ BigDownload.com. :) God, I love that site.

Oh, and for the topic: I think I'd recommend Requiem: Bloodymare. Not only is it extremely spectacular for a F2P, but it seems like it actually relies some on player skill. You do require good timing, among other things. You don't just spam the skill keys. Or well, at least I don't. I actually use a bit of tactics. @_@ But then again, I do on most MMORPGs.

Anyway, exactly ALL OF THEM relies much on levels, by the way. If you're looking for something that doesn't rely on levels at all... well, anything-RPG is not for you. You gain strength as you level up. A high level character will be better than a low level one.

If you were referring to something that is simply online (that is, no MMORPG, but an online action game at least), and requires skills, go play GunZ, Rakion: Chaos Force or perhaps even S4 League (Capture The Flag-like football with weapons. :D). Three free online games that does require skills. I will have to warn you about GunZ, however... If you ever meet an experienced player, you will die. They have their tactics... *shivers* Oh, and the game gives me a freakin' headache, too!

I already told you once. Ultima Online : The Second Age. Imagine if you had Runescape, only it hadn't been made by a total fucking retard.

That's pretty much T2A in a nutshell, in many ways. It's good enough that Runescape and Endless Online have both ripped it off massively, actually to the point that if you took out the bits they stole from UO, there would probably be no game left, just a few sprites.

Srsly guise.
