rabadi 21-01-2009 11:39 PM

Yeah, great picture... I mean, great review

Shoelip 22-01-2009 07:56 AM

Awesome. A game about half topless amazon chicks and Jack Thompson!

Edit: No wait, it's a game about Jack Thompson repeatedly snogging with a hot half topless amazon chick.

Luchsen 22-01-2009 02:58 PM

Jack Thompson?

[edit] Now I even don't notice when something is written in German... [/edit]

What's your OS And where did you put the game?

Ermuli 23-01-2009 08:29 AM

I'll post a link to a CloneCD version in the appropriate section.

How about putting it in the folder C:\bermuda ;). I'm not even sure this old game supports a 4-folder nest. Also, did you read the readme.txt ?

Ok I'll try to put the game there, and yeah I have read the readme(lol), but I don't understand the
SRCPATH should point to the BERMUDA\SCN folder so if you installed the
game in c:\bermuda, you need to change it to SCRPATH=C:\BERMUDA\SCN

DSTPATH should point to the BERMUDA folder so if you installed the game
in c:\bermuda, you need to change it to DSTPATH=C:\BERMUDA
:(

hi everybody
i'm a poor osx user and i would like to play this game.

the game-page itself says: 'People who want to play this game but are running Linux or Mac OS X need not dispair. You could just use Dosbox, install Windows 3.1 and play it that way.' and i've tried the process and it works but...

but i have a 'gorgeous' 16 color graphic where everything is pink, white, cyan, yellow and so on... (and no sound)
tried to install win3.1 with superVGA - 256 colors support but win itself doesn't load at all, just the VGA option works (all the other dos games works with superVGA in dosBox why win doesn't??).

so i ask you: anyone knows a way to make it work properly in osx? (or a way to have 256 colors support in dosBox-win3.1?)

thank you (^__^)

You need drivers for the S3 graphics card because that's the one Dosbox emulates. Check over on the Dosbox forum :).

AlumiuN 27-01-2009 09:30 PM

Or, better yet, this CVS build that comes with S3 and ET4000 SVGA support. And various other bits and pieces like a small GUI. :)

Erm how is that helping :p. The problem is that he needs drivers - Windows 3.1 doesn't auto detect like Win 9X ;). And ET4000 support is pretty shaky in Win3.1. Stick to S3.

dosraider 27-01-2009 10:48 PM

This will help sort things out with the drivers:
http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=9405

As said by Red, best stick to the S3 drivers.
Works perfectly in dosbox0.72/W3.x

n1k4r0 27-01-2009 10:59 PM

everything done ^_^
installed the graphic drivers and the sound drivers and everything works now, full graphic and full sound

thank you so much

in osx i use a program called Boxer, it create games packages that contain dosBox itself (i suppose) and the program files and so they run just with a double click so i decided to install drivers inside that package instead of the CVS build, and also i haven't find an osx version of the CVS build that AlumiuN suggested, just windows and linux. maybe the linux version also works in osx but i preferred the driver installation method so i can have the double-click-and-run feature provided by Boxer.

thanks again to all of you :)

Oh. Whoops. Sorry. ET4000 support I think is in there to cater to the whim of Ken Silverman, who hard-coded everything for his ET4000 - Ken's Labyrinth map editor advanced features, early Build Engine prototypes, etc., I haven't seen anything else that wouldn't work with a good old S3. :)

arkanis 11-02-2009 02:16 PM

Finished the game a couple of weeks ago.

Nice graphics, especially the dino effects and background animations.

The game becomes somewhat boring when you enter the city though.

versus 05-04-2009 07:09 AM

One can play it on a newly implemented engine, here: http://cyxdown.free.fr/bs/
Should work on Windows, Linux and Amiga.

_r.u.s.s. 05-04-2009 08:44 AM

brilliant!

what exactly does the new engine do?

has anyone tried this yet?

_r.u.s.s. 09-04-2009 01:55 PM

what do you think engine should do?=P

finn 18-07-2009 07:45 PM

I don't get it. Where do I have to put the bs.exe and stuff from this page: http://cyxdown.free.fr/bs?

There seems to be no documentation at all on that page and the integrated readme is very cryptic. I'm no rookie but I am not a programmer either, so please help.

Cheers Finn

The Fifth Horseman 18-07-2009 07:57 PM

In the same directory you unpacked the game, most likely.

Well that certainly sounds reasonable. Naturally that was the first thing I tried. Maybe it just doesn't run on my machine.

Capo 18-07-2010 10:28 PM

For what i have read there is no difference between the "Get it" verision and the version in the Iso cellar, is that correct ?

And i have no clue of what is the stuff posted above this post.

Capo 20-07-2010 06:05 PM

change your desktop screen resolution to 640x480

tadah=P

DarthHelmet86 21-07-2010 01:41 AM

Without using the engine update I got it to work full screen. Simply go to the compatibility for the berumda batch file and check run in 640x480 screen resolution. If needed also check the run in 256 colours. Should work on the updated engine too.

Capo 21-07-2010 04:33 PM

Thanks guys, i will try that.

Edit: the first solution dont work because the minimum resultion is 800x600, using the second solution i still have the little windows.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/286906

also, there is this program called reslink which can change your desktop resolution to as small as you want

Capo 23-07-2010 06:00 PM

Thanks, that seems the only way to play the game full screen.

One question: The ammunitions are unlimited ?

i never played this game :dunno:

Capo 30-07-2010 10:10 PM

Im disappointed again: This game is absolutely not at the level of Another World or Flashback, the story is pretty crappy, the gameplay is decent but the combat is way too easy, the lady who follow you is dumb like my cat. The graphich is another flaw, poor colors and cant play in fullscreen. Only for die hard fans of Prince of Persia. 2/5

NTVDM.exe stops working when I start bermuda batch, in the background I can see the main menu but it's not responding :( Latest divx codecs, vista 32.

_r.u.s.s. 02-08-2010 03:46 PM

i'd really wonder why does it use divx codecs for it

it may sound like a weird idea but try booting into safe mode and running it there

You'd think I would have thought of that! I've just been playing it in a little window and I'm about half way through! Troubleshooting Windows 3.1 is a little outside my comfort zone :) Thanks heaps, changing the resolutions to 640x480 in Windows was exactly what I needed! I'm really liking the game!:smile2:
