Can't remember the year but I remember the action! FASA Corperation's Battletech:MechWarrior 2 (Never played no1).
Excellent robot simulator taking place in the BattleTech® Universe before the final battle of Tykayyid on Strana Mechty(Earth) and the fall of the Clans.
I've got the game, I can do the review. :ok:

Mechwarrior 1 abandonned..

For mechwarrior 2: Still sold...

MechWarrior 1 and Crescent Hawks Revenge are quite worth putting up on the site. I don't care about what Picard said about so-called "quality treshhold" a while ago, as Crescent Hawks Inception was far worse IMHO then Crescent Hawks Revenge.

Does anyone know where to find Mechwarrior 1+2?I played the second part and it was a great fun game. I still remember how i got it with my new matrox graphics card and i definitly want to play it again.

Mechwarrior 1 has been reviewed by me and is waiting for an admin to put up the download and review. Meanwhile you can find it at The Underdogs.

Mechwarrior 2 is harder to get. Try some P2P network, I found it in Emule myself. However, the thing does not work under Windows XP (neither does MW1).

For running Mechwarrior 1 - DosBox recommended, suitable alternative might be Microsoft Virtual PC with DOS installed on the vHDD. It's running pretty frigging fast at even low-end machines, so DosBox is better option here. Slow it down to about 30 Mhz for a playable speed... LOL

Mechwarrior 2 will run in either an extremely low-end machine, under DosBox or Virtual PC. However, if its Titanium Trilogy that you'll get your hands on, then either a low-end machine with Windows 95/98/98SE or MS Virtual PC with any of these systems installed are viable choices (TT was re-made to work under Windows and is no longer compatibile with DOS)

ouch this underdog site is very slow at the moment. You know any other source i can get it from. I can hardly navigate on this site.

I've got Mechwarrior 2 cd from a bundle I bought years ago. It works just fine in XP.

That's interesting, cause I could get neither original nor Titanium versions to run on XP...

hey im a mechwarrior fan i think you should put mechwarrior 2 mercineries in,i don't think esa controles the company anymoreat least i think. it was made in 1994 and great graphics for it's time

Exactly. Given the 15-year rule, the game will become qualified as abandonware somewhere around 2010. IF it's not sold anymore at the time, that is.

There was great joy today as I re-discovered my old copy of MW2-Mercenaries. Sure if you look hard enough you can find a .iso for the game (the Titanium Edition is Win95 only) - but can you get it to work (On XP)? I sure as shit can't. This makes my discovery that much sweeter!

This disk contains THE DOS INSTALLATION!

I want to share this version insanely badly. I had to install it via dosbox(because of the CD), but have since moved the entire directory just to check the stability. It works simply using the XP compatability for win 95, and running the Mercs.exe. Doesn't even need dosbox! I was gibbering for about an hour.

I've just uploaded my version with the dos installation. This is one of my favorites.

I haven't figured a way around the cd in the drive thing - a Nero copied cd works fine - but this works in XP. For starters you have to make sure you install from the DOS directory on the disk using Dos-Box. Run the MERCS.exe under Win95 Compatibility, and you're sweet.

I've been told that it's too large for the site. Would you mind uploading it to an online hosting site and sending the link to the ISO cellar?

We don't have enough bandwidth to host very large games.
