I can't really wait for that game. I couldn't complete EP1 because of the annoying looping sound freeze problem, but I saw the ending in Youtube at least. I've watched the 7 total videos about EP2 and the Portal trailer and the 2 Team Fortress 2 videos (I'm not interested in that one but if it comes bundled... ^_^ ).

By the way... at the end of the second EP2 trailer you see Kleiner building some sort of rocket/missile. My guess is that it's related to Portal somewhat, as it's been stated to be located in HL's universe and storyline.

I don't think Portal got anything to do with HL2, naww what do I know. xD

That's an interesting thought. Maybe they're building up Alex's AI, personality, emotional response with the player in order to have her eventually AS the player character.

Well i've seen some gameplay footage and i saw alex hanging on the edge of a cliff. Some time later i see somebody(i thought it was Gordon) carrying her. So my geus is that alex will die.

We seen the screenshot with her by our side - so no! she lives!
In other thought - what about the two women from Half-Life:Decay

Gordon's glasses let nerdy guys easily dress like him for Halloween. Whereas most nerdy guys who want to dress like a Doomguy or a Duke Nukem will probably have to spend some time in the gym. Thanks Valve, for thinking of the cosplaying weirdos first!

Half life 2 episode 1 2 and three are actually supposed to be half-life 3 according to an interview with a couple of staff members in valve. Seems like we couldn't wait for a full term release so they've done installments.

Half life 2 ep 2 is pretty short, but I have to redo it all because of that groin itch of a gnome that unlocks an achievement....gah.

Anyhow, Alyx doesn't die, but comes close to it.

Also, Portal does link into Half-life 2. If you listen up in the credits music "Still alive" the AI says - who you gonna call? black mesa? Fat chance. The disappearance of a ship in mysterious circumstances at the end of episode 2 also links to the portal device. However I will see in episode 3.

Ok, kind of sidetracking: Just finished HL2 (basic) and honestly I don't know what to make of this game. On one hand, the graphics are wicked, and the physics are kinda cool... BUT: They forgot to add _weight_ to the damn objects... A barrel full of flamable liquids isn't supposed to go flying all over the place just because you happened to touch it with your foot... This "half-assed" physics, and the odd fact that your jumping skills are reduced to that of a legless beggar to avoid you getting out of the "lane" kinda ruins the experience. If they don't want me jumping out of the track, then why didn't they put up a fence or something? Jumping around happily until I got to this point where I just couldn't jump was too silly.

Enemy AI: Pretty impressive. These combines were pretty close to what I'd like to imagine as coppers with training. Not geniouses, but damn clever still.

Story?: Screw that, but it was a nice one.

Just getting it off my chest.

i am still waiting for December holiday time to play it through. i am not expecting much, cause my graphics card is not really one of the best...

The games are all good that's what.
Episode 2 is good, and it's a bargain considering you get all of the previous HL2 games as well.
I consider Episode 2 to just be a supplement though, TF2 was obviously the draw of the compilation, and when you're not exactly as excited to contend with online gaming's moronic population (which was basically my feelings) it's not exactly the draw it was intended to be, it doesn't have any singeplayer either, no bots or anything, which was rather disappointing to me, considering that if you buy it for the 360 you'll have no other choice but to play it online, whereas on the PC I'm pretty sure there's already some mods making bots for it.

Portal is absolutely fantastic and my favorite part of the package, I'd buy that for $50 alone, but it's quite short, it seems like Valve thought it would be taken as merely gimmicky and didn't apply too much to it. It's also evident that they didn't think it would be received very well by the mainstream audience because it's given the least attention out of all the additions to the collection.

The HL2 games aren't terribly exciting if you've already played/owned them previously, so Episode 2 is the only big thing there in the HL realm, it's still worth it and very good, but I'm getting tired of this episodic method and I felt that I didn't get the best effect from Episode 2 if I didn't play HL2 and Episode 1 all the way through in one continuous play through, instead of just playing it from the get go.

So my final verdict is that Valve was a bit too cautious with Ep2 and Portal, they didn't seem to be very confident about Portal doing well, and Ep2 is rather short although still very good and intense.
It's worth buying, and I did enjoy TF2 for the brief periods of time I've played it online, but just beware of the HL2 and Portal content because it's just too short for something so great.

Got it, love it and now I'm broke :p Still worth the money though, considering you get the whole lot on HL2 so far. I just finished Portal and now I'm busy with Episode one. So far so good, I really hope more maps wil become available for Portal though (or a mapmaker perhaps?)..
