Wanna show a great music vid? Post a link here. Wanna show a nice audio? Post a link here.
If the band can be though of as more than a bit obscure, feel free to tell us something about them. Here's one for Tito :ok: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGxmsI91JVk |
Here's one for all the ones who feel girly. ^_^
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyB_1wjbc_s Also some rock n' roll for midget from the same movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SGkWIEdHtk |
RHPS is "kinda cool" :D except when people go to the movie theatre, getting the "script" with all the cues, imagining they actually know the movie by heart. "Kinda lame".
Here's one of my all time favourite groups, the "dangerous" one from the 60's when all the others wore white dresses and looked "sugar sweet", beside Ronnie Bennet is one hell of a woman :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MCUO7F2xjzw |
I'd totally hit them.
This is also a great 60's band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvyDWGF290M...ted&search= |
That must be my Rolling Stones' favourite song.
This woman may be obscure elsewhere but she's very famous in Greece (we haven't any Greeks in Ab right? :( ). If you want to know more you'll be better served in her own website. Two very different songs from her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H_qi2y7_xo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibSrf3SuBaE |
my current fav - a recording :P
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AYLJbD7_go...ted&search= enslaved - path to vanir http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9xpIP1cKQ4 darkthrone - too old, too cold http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tVKRs4kfqc |
Here are "a couple" of great band from the 70's-ish
Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back In Town http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FmPhJkdTwU T.L. was a Dublin based hard rock band that had a few hits but never made it big sales-wise. You might have heard Metallica's version of Whiskey In The Jar: A rip-off of the T.L. version. Also, Gary Moore saw his career shoot to the sky while playing in this band. Undertones - Teenage Kicks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAtUw6lxcis A relatively unknown band (also Irish) with a very well known hit. The group was easily recognizable by the lead singer's tremolo voice. The Boomtown Rats (Bob Geldof's old band) - I Don't Like Mondays http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POl4vFp-5os (tragically relevant) Another slightly unknown band (Irish as well) that wrote this song after a school shooting, where the killer said she did it because she didn't like Mondays. And last, probably among my top 3 favourite bands (and to end on a happy note) Toy Dolls - I've Got Asthma http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQhGXE5Q_pY A UK (Sunderland) band formed in '79 and still going strong. One of the pioners in "silly punk". Mind you, the guitarist/lead singer soon got to be one of the finest guitarist around, although you may not think much of his playing here :D EDIT: I'll throw in this audio by Yat-Kha, a Siberian throat-singing/western rock group. It's just about the best tune I've ever heard http://music.yat-kha.com/Bootleg/Yat...otleg_ahoi.mp3 |
Hey, I hadn't noticed this thread 'til now! Thanks Midget. For me, favourite Rolling Stones performance and song, here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY9OYsl0uuc And another classic one, Credence Clearwater Revival: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X90T5sY5c2o |
|
It's all about Heart - a Glam Rock Canadian band fronted by Ann and Nancy Wilson who co-wrote most of the songs. Ann sang lead and Nancy played guitar
The recording - better version although music interspersed with a rdiculous TV show: If Looks Could Kill Heart playing the song live - not as good as the recorded version above: If looks could kill Barracuda Dog and Buterfly The Girls Dedicated to Himmler: Under The Sky EDIT: Here you go, Dino Alone |
Oh, I heard about Heart. I particularly like their song "Alone"... Very nice ballad. :)

some people love it, some people hate it .. and some people dont understand it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhjG47gtMCo |
Another thing I love. The fantabolous "Blues Brothers" (also present in this site):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ea9mV9EhPvE "I'M A SOOOUUUUULL MAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNN!" |
Tom Lehrer - LY (from The Electric Company TV show)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-jEMrBBDv8 T.L. was (he's not dead but still: was) a songwriter and satirist starting in the 50's when he quit lecturing math. Story goes he quit being a satirist when Kissinger recieved the Nobel Peace Price, there was no way he could out-do that as a satire. In the 70's he wrote songs for The Electric Company, an educational TV show for kids. In this particular song, he shows us the importance of the letters L and Y. EDIT: Some 70's and 80's stuff Men At Work - Down Under http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkWp19hbXrY Doctor And The Medics - Spirit In The Sky (A group I have a hard time figuring out, either they're just about the worst of the 80's, or they're onto something. But anyway, the song itself is... well... bad) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jor2WblIVg XTC - Making Plans For Nigel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVhNZGF65nU Blondie - Denis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s3WE0RiWvi0 Joan Jett & The Blackhearts - I Love Rock'n'Roll http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3T_xeoGES8 Joan Jett & The Blackhearts - Cherry Bomb http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uW_HCdU-qEY The Sweet - Ballroom Blitz (they started as a bubble gum band, but moved onto "harder" stuff soon. A weird but sometimes cool band) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrBDivsSe3k Slade - Run Run Away (another 80's hit) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHoPYLQvnQM Then, some of the finest vocal work by The Dubliners (w/Luke Kelly) - The Auld Triangle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqlnVbdLkos |
And now, something special for all of you. That is, one of the best guitar players ever, and one of the most impressive videos ever (from my point of view, that is). Not sure if this fits the art section better, but here it is:

MightMidget: I didn´t know you were from Norway :) , since suddenly when I heard your brothers band, then I was what the heck ? Danish comments ? and then I smacked myself , and said "of course" Danish and Norwegian , silly me :) But no worries, I won´t write in Danish at an international board :)

Det er dejligt at være norsk i Danmark :D thanks to Carlsberg, that is :P

Why, of course everybody do the ska :brain: That, and rocksteady is incredible music. There is no way you can stay grumpy with these tunes.
Desmond Dekker - Israelites http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KASYjduQHNU A re-post: Dropkick Murphys -Tessie (another song I really love) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYAijiz7nZM Two teenage memories Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXSpHpdRwkU and The Trooper http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgqxQmAbTBc (with a wicked guitar solo from Murray) |
Well, I thought to myself, why not adding a video of the song currently displayed in my signature? It´s been there for ages, and it is a great, great, GREAT band. So here it is:
