It is your duty as a Netizen.

I love Wikipedia. Where else can I go to look up vaugely remembered 80s TV shows. I use it all the time.

The extend the question:

Have you donated to Abandonia ? (besides your time)
Have you donated to the Free Software you might be using ? (Firefox,DOSBox, some movie codecs)

Nope, I never donated anything to anyone :whistling:

I'm afraid I am a little "big" Mr Scrouge :tomato:

I donated £10 to Wikipedia. That's $20 (about). That got doubled to make $40 (If you're planning to donate, I'd wait for a day when donations are being matched, they're fairly common).

That's $40 total. I'm so generous.

I've given £5 to Abandonai total, but that was ages ago, when £5 was a pretty significant amount of my total money.

There are loads of things I really should donate to, such as DOSBox, I use Firefox as standard and have for a while, but they're probably swimming in cash by now what with all the users. Sending a postcard to Thomas Biskup is also on my list. So much alturism, so little time.

Hahaha!

Our duty? Don't make me laugh. The whole word about internet is free, my friend. Of course, you can always donate if you like what you see and want to support the thing or the people who are doing it... But our duty? You won't catch me with something as simple, friend. ;)

<Hem haw> er, um, well <stammer, stutter, gulp >

I better go buy seven T-shirts right now. One for each day of the week.

Hail Mary, full of grace....

I don't see why you are amazed, abandonia is also a community based site which makes no profit at all, by your logic if you've ever downloaded from here or read any of the reviews it's your duty to donate.

aaberg 12-01-2007 07:01 PM

Posting in this forum and telling your friends about Abandonia, is making the site more popular and famous, which is a kind of donation. Mainly because of the Google ads.

I doubt anyone (that will probably be Kosta) will make any serious money, though!

Mighty Midget 12-01-2007 07:32 PM

I haven't donated to anyone on the Internet. I don't have a card, I don't care much for having that sort of personal data running loose on the Web, which is one reason why I don't need a card, and last, I don't have that much money to spend.

About covering costs: Well, it's sad when people die, but we all do. It's part of the whole show. It's sad when great sites "die", but they do that all the time... Ok, we die, but there's plenty of time to have fun. Ok, sites die, but there's plenty of time to have fun.

Ok, you can hammer me to pieces now.

Hmmm, I'd rather spend my hard earned pennies (and believe me, it's only pennies ;)) on something other than preserving the memory of 1980's television, and don't you "Pop Culture" me young man! Tch! I'll give you "Pop Culture!" Geeze, when I was a girl we had to walk one thousand miles in the freezing snow and glaring sun with our feet bare just to look at the box which a television set came packaged in, and we felt lucky let me tell you! Young folks today *sigh* youth is wasted on the young....mumble mumble....rhubarb....

:)
