Personally, I see it that enabling use of Attachments in Games Discussion forum would allow people to share files relevant to the discussed game - savegames, patches, crack files and other similar things - and thus be a useful addition.

Of course, there would have to be a sort of filter, so that only wanted/allowed attachments will find their way to the forum. If that can be done, I'd say it's a very good idea.

That filter is called crew ;)

I like the idea, and like you say Fifth, there we can share save files, and a lot more relative to the games we are talking about, so to me i like... :ok:

We have more than enough crew moderating the Games section to keep it in check.

Every user is limited to 200 K of attachment space provided by the forum automatically.
In other words, the feature is already there and in use (vide Programming and Art forums, you can use attachments there).

Personally I would love to know why are they against this notion. There's nothing better then a bit of constructive criticism.

Alright... most seem to be in favor, and I don't really see any points against. There is enough space on the server, so that shouldn't be an issue. Best way to test if it is a good idea is by enabling it.... enabled! :)

Another thing. I've increased the total space per user for the groups VIP and Member so they are as follows now:

Member group total upload space: 500 KB
Member group max size per post: unlimited (500kb)

VIP group total upload space: 5 MB
VIP group max size per post: unlimited (5MB)
