for all of those who don't know what adult swim is, it's a slot of adult-cartoons (no xxx stuff) that includes Aqua teen hunger force, sealab 2021 and perfect hair forever (my favourites :P)
if you wanna read more about it, go to The Official UK Homepage

as for the people that have watched it/do watch it, what do you think of it?

i love it :P (watching sealab 2021 on bravo right now :P)

The Fifth Horseman 08-11-2006 09:04 AM

It also includes Trinity Blood, or so I heard. :)

The Spider Mastermind 08-11-2006 10:54 AM

I watch it for Perfect Hair Forever, Moral Orel, and for Robot Chicken when they showed it. I also liked the one episode of Frisky Dingo that I've seen on it, too.
I find most everything else to be less then brilliant. Aqua Teen Hunger Force has its moments, but not enough of them for me.

I have to say that Perfect Hair Forever is an impressive achievment. A group of people contrived something into that much of a parody and actually managed to get it on TV.

Spider Mastermind and JJXB, what anime's are your avvies from?

The Fifth Horseman 08-11-2006 12:17 PM

I can answer for JJXB. His avatar is from the first season of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, where it is the logo of a particular sneaky hacker known as "The Laughing Man".

Mine is Nanvel from Burn Up Excess and Burn Up Warrior, I'm not sure which one that exact screenshot is from.

Thanks for the info :ok: .

Never seen Adult Swim personally, but I heard they had Stand Alone Complex on at one point so I guess they have good taste ^_^ I'll check it out sometime.

Fawfulhasfury 08-11-2006 06:23 PM

I watch it. All of the adult cartoons but FG, Futurama, and 12 oz mouse suck. Trinity blood also sucks. Want quality anime, watch: Full Metal Alchemist, Eureka Seven, Ghost in the Shell, and Bleach.

troop18546 08-11-2006 07:02 PM

With me back on topic I can say that:

If I had Adult Swim - I would definately watch it. I almost never have good shows on tv - I wish I had this.

JJXB 08-11-2006 07:31 PM

the content depends on the country and channel it's shown on. from what i can tell, bravo gets a very limited selection but it's good enough for me at the moment :) and thanks for answering for me horseman :)

Iron_Scarecrow 09-11-2006 12:44 AM

Futurama?

Anything that shows Futurama gets the thumbs up from me. Anyway I've heard a lot of talk about it, and more specifically Robot Chicken, I'm sure it would be good.

Iowa 09-11-2006 03:56 AM

I love Futurama...they really need to give it another season or twelve...

I disagree. While it may not be Hellsing (you did see the 2nd episode of the new OAV, didn't you?), it's pretty decent in its own right.

Yeah, they basically only have stuff that other channels don't want.
Sky and FX have the rights for Futurama and Family Guy, Paramount have South Park, and I don't think anyone seems to bother bringing in any half decent animé, such as StandAlone Complex or Black Lagoon.

JJXB 09-11-2006 03:21 PM

it really doesn't matter about SAC 1st gig since kura bought the boxset but waiting to buy the 2nd gig boxset. and i've seen so may eps of the other ones (apart from black lagoon) that i really couldn't care for them. i'll have to look into black lagoon.

I have the 1st Gig BoxSet too. There is a box set for the 2nd Gig that I could pre-order, but it's a "Special Edition" one that costs €120, and it's not released until December. I think I'll wait for the non "Special Edition" box set.

Black Lagoon, if you haven't seen it, is a fairly generic action animé with a generic hot chick, lots of generic explosions and really, really, stupid bad guys. But it's carried off well, so I like it. Unfortunately, one of my friends got it (probably illegaly) and I'm not exactly sure from where. So I can't direct you to it, even if I was allowed.

JJXB 09-11-2006 04:04 PM

as many people who have known me on here can tell you, i don't always need direction so there's no need to worry :)

Iowa 10-11-2006 03:45 AM

While we're (loosely) on the topic of anime, I'd like to mention the only two i've ever seen: Gungrave and Paranoia Agent.

The former I like a significant amount, and was rather enjoyable with it's grim and gritty atmosphere...but is no longer aired on G4 TV.

The latter I like, but haven't seen enough of to really understand the gist of the plot.

So, there you have it anime experts. Do these titles ring a bell?

"Expert" is a bit stretch for me... but:
Gungrave does ring a bell, and I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Haven't seen it myself, though, and Paranoia Agent's a new one on me.

JJXB 10-11-2006 10:28 PM

it's a pain to try and get hold of 2 particular anime's:
crying freeman
legend of the 4 kings

Playbahnosh 11-11-2006 08:43 AM

Futurama is awesome! :D But for anime, Trigun beats all in humour! Vash the Stampede is so L0L!

tea3rd 23-09-2007 03:34 AM

i would said trigun is the best one on Adult Swim but blood+ is getting better and better to me

Playbahnosh 23-09-2007 09:42 AM
