Should i not be honest?
I thought i was supposed to give fair judgements on all the games i review.. |
I'm just not used to hearing such honesty.
|
I have the original CD, bought it many many years ago. The music is unbelievably good, the graphics look great... wonderfull game.
|
Stroggy im an honest person get used to it...
I don't lie in my reviews... And please dont turn this into an argument like the one you and Raff (Kon-Tiki) had! |
Jurassic Park is a an average game, I can only agree on Magics review about that. The first impression is much better than the game really is. As I played it, I never made it past the T-Rex scene, quite frustrating. I cheated past it but quickly lost interest. Nevertheless it will make fun for an hour or two, and it if you are an Jurassic Park fan you might even get a third one.

I had this on my Sega Megadrive (or Genesis to you USA guys). It was okay, but i can't remember beating it. :ranting:
|
I hate that term ''genesis''!
Raf, sorry about the 2 f's And Fenris thanks for agreeing with me, i was worried i would be the only person that disliked the game. |
Anyone remember the old one for SNES? God that game was a POS!!!! :rifle:
|
Actually, it wasn't that bad...
|
I remember playing this as a Nintendo game, a long time ago. Possibly before Super Nintendo. I had the flu and was stuck in bed for a couple of weeks and played this all the time. But I never got very far. It was both frustrating and fun. I thought the music was menacing and creepy. I'll have to check out the pc version.
|
The second part of the game, which you obviously did not get to, is a first-person shooter using an engine that is, at least in technological areas, somewhere between Doom and Duke Nukem 3D. It's an extremely fun section of the game. Very moody and involving, and you aren't as 'left out to dry' as you are in earlier sections of the game. Have to beware though, it can slug along fairly slowly on a SX-33 to the point of a crawl.
|
i started playing it its kinda stupid. has anyone read the book.
its soooo different from the movie for instance Dr hammond dies in the book but lives in the movie and dr malcome dies in the book but lives in the movie and the layer lies in the book but dies in the move and the try-hard aussie(i would know i live in australia) hunter muldoon lives in the book but gets eaten by raptrs in the movie. thats hollywood for ya. |
Also in the book, the raptors could shoot lasers out of their eyes.
|
You my friend are a tool
|
The book is better than the movie, but that's almost always the case.
|
very true
|
hah the snes one was very flawed. in terms of gameplay that is. it was a good looking game with nice music and graphics, and technology. first person shooter! it shouldve had a savegame feature. it wasnt playable otherwise.
"trespasser" was a great game on pc.. i wonder if its abandonware? it was on sold out label, but i dont know if they still sell it |
What type of game was it. FPS?
|
Does anybody know of any cheat codes? I can't get past the first "scene"...and i can only find Tim :/
I actually bought this game, and still have the manual/box etc, but it doesn't change the fact that i want some help to move to another level.... cheers... |
I cant get it to run at all... I've tried it in XP and win98 on my big computer it just crashes, and win95 on my 486 laptop, shows the JP logo then crashes. I have the snes game and i liked it alot(but hated the cant save function). How can i fix it...it says something about qemm or emm386 which i installed and still asks to install it.
 Pleae help. Mors. |
Run the game through DosBox and you shouldn't have any problems!

Just came across this website and was poking around at the games and thought I might contribute. I had the SNES version of this game and sadly it was the first game I ever finished. Extremely repetitive with all the ID cards you had to collect in the various FPS areas - buildings, ships and caves. Way too much doubling back on yourself so take a notepad and write down wear all the cards are as you find them, it helps. It looked very colourful though but I must say the end 'cinematic' is the lame-est one I've ever seen. I think it even got featured on Gamesmaster once as one of the ten worst ever.
|
Dr. Malcom doesn't die in the book.... he almost does ;) It seems he does die, but if you read the 2nd book ;) You'll see....
|
Added a couple of scans for the game :D
|
Jurassic park 1 and 2 for SNES are evil. EVIL!!!! they are even more difficult than the Sega ones. ugh.
Need to play this game to see how rediculously difficult it is. I'm sure it has to be, like asking you to fist-fight a raptor to the death and expecting you to live. |
I remember you could get to the 3D-part of the game immediatelyn by renaming the 2d.exe and then start the game. It wouldn't find the 2D-part then and load the 3D-part directly :)
|
Wow, I didn't have to fist-fight with a Raptor. Yet. Anybody else like to zap compies to death? Wheeeee :sniper:

Second half of the game...scared me half to death when I was a kid. You ought to try it
|
I re-discovered this fantastic adventure game with pleasure :ok:
There are great moments which I shall never forget. Levels are vast and varied, they respect the movie and the player will meet many different species of dinosaurs. The only passage which is rather boring is the sewer (when you have to rescue Ariana in an inflatible boat, if my memory's good). I highly recommend to draw a map. After all, that's what you've got to do in Myst, too... I didn't enjoyed the FPS levels because they are mazy and stressful. Still, they bring some variety to the gameplay and made this game the first FPS I ever played. As far as I can remember, the only thing that frustrated me as a kid was the intro and ending sequences :D Even for the epoch, the end is a bit violent. |
there was a very good jurassic park rts.. can anyone remember what it was?
|
I think the game was called "Tresspassers".
|
Nope, Trespasser was an FPP action-adventure.
What keremix is looking for is called "Jurassic Park: Chaos Island". |

ok ok page :P

The game originally ran like a snail in DOSBox, but after turning off the joystick, and remapping the keys, it runs smooth as butter :)
But I can't get into the sewer, how do I do that? |
You need a wrench... Go to one of the radio towers, press Enter when a computer screen appears, and you should be able to figure it out from there.
However, my brother and I are both having our own trouble with this game..... We found the girl in the sewers, but when we move near her, she won't follow us like Tim did... Why? |
If I remember the book, the girl is _extremely_ scared of the dinos.
No idea how to get past that in the game, though |
Ahhhh...What are the controls? And can you change them?
Cheers dears! Never mind, I found it |
