I think I actually own this game. Have no idea where it would be but its around here somewhere.

Good game though. :ok:

One of my favororites from the time period, definetly. I remember playing this through with my cousin and it was damn difficult, but we did it. We actually even wrote a walkthrough to it.

It was one of the darkest and moodies games then. A nostalgy trip for sure!

Well we won't mind if you actually find it and scan the box :whistling: ^_^

Check out Comportal, this guy created the bioforge tools needed to view/extract most of the file formats.

Website: http://comport.homedns.org

He hosts a bunch of production shots from bioforge, includes the box covers mentioned above... Along with high resolution shots and other misc. stuff.

Also here's hoping someone out there is interesting in helping him out making a remake of the Bioforge engine.

After hitting over 300 downloads of Bioforge Tools and 5 "Hell Yeah!" votes to the "Would you like to see a Bioforge remake for Windows/Linux?" poll I have decided to start on a Bioforge remake project! This announcement in no way means you will see a complete remake anytime soon, especially if I can't get others who are interested in helping. On that note I'm looking for anyone who wants to help out. So if you have any coding skills (especially game design and/or scripting), graphics/web design skills (I hope to start up a site/forum for this project), even if you have no skills you could always provide motivation! So if you're interested and want to know more click on the Read More link below.

The current status of the project:
The remake will be written in C++ and will be made cross-platform compatible for Windows, Linux, OSX (will need a coder who uses OSX to support this port). See next point for libraries which will be used.
Library set has been decided upon. After trying out a few options (SDL, Allegro, ClanLib, etc.) I have decided on GLFW (for graphics, input, threads), and FMOD (for sounds/music).
FLX reader has been rewritten in C++ (including wav/midi extraction code) and has been tested with FMOD sound system.
CAM reader has been rewritten in C++
FLC (SHO) reader has been rewritten in C++
SALSA reader is in the process (25%) of being rewritten in C++
Level IFF file format partially decoded (can now view wireframe model of levels and camera locations)

What needs to be done:
SCR (script) file format needs to be worked out and an interpreter written. Worst case scenario (format remains elusive) scripts could be rewritten in a scripting language such as lua.
FNT (font) file format needs to be worked out (should be fairly straight forward). Worst case scenario - just use custom fonts. This is not a priority but would be nice.
Lot's of small things ...
The engine!
Subversion source control setup (if I can't get more of you on board)
Dedicated website / forum ... let me know if you want to help out with this (if you have some server space, want to be a maintainer / moderator / news person, design some cool graphics and web design)

So if you're interested in the project I look forward to some help![/b]

The first time I played all worked fine but I forgot how to fight so I decided to restart and trie again but now he will never wake up again. I have reinstalled serveral times now...

Can anyone start the game and save just after he has woke up and send me a copy?

Bioforge is an odd game - it's definately buggy but like many old DOS games, the games that were buggy never got patched or the patches are incredibly hard to find.
