You know it would be nice of your for once there, if you not release any information that might spoil the enjoyment of a brand new movie to people who haven't seen it yet. Or am I expecting too much?

And I hate the Rock, and I know hes not the main DOOM char, the Eomer guy from LOTR is, the rock dies?!?!?!
Eomer is in the Doom film? :drool: :w00t:

Why did no-one tell me this before. Now I have to watch Doom! :whistle:
What lameness have I stumbled upon. It's not out here yet, but I intend on wasting my money to see how bad it turns out. I mean it'll probably have a good opening scene, muck middle. What are they going to do? Shoot up imps for an hour? Then waste another whole hour on defeating the final boss? The end I suppose will be ok.

The worst horror movies ever: The Grudge, The Village. These weren't scary at all. The Grudge was mostly stupid.

In my opinion The Village wasn't a horror movie, but rather a story about an intriguing experiment. The setting works, and the mystery entertains. It's not an exceptionally brilliant or intelligent film, but slightly above average and more interesting than most of the stuff they put out these days.

Same thing with for example The Others and Signs. They're obviously not *horror* movies.

Funny you should mention that. I never got around to watching the whole thing. I got up to the part where the little girl seems to be possesed by that old lady. It seems like it's a lot like 5 Days A Stranger.

I watched a part of the original Star Wars film when it came out, and laughed myself sick over the bad, overwrought writing, stereotyped characters, and over-use of special effects. A bloated, pretentious film. Certainly one of the worst films I've ever seen, if not the worst.

I agree with Chuck, DOOM the movie is stupid, and NO, I HAVENT seen it. But, I must also agree with Piggy, from what you would come to expect, its good for WHAT IT IS, but, compared to other movies, in my opnion it looks stupid..

Plot: 1.Mars taken over by zombies
* * * * 2.Rock shoot zombies
* * * * 3.Rock act corny
* * * * 4.repeat #2

Personally I think movies based on video games are pretty dumb, I have yet to see a good one...

And the Rock is a corny actor, hes one of thoose actors that is in movies where you go and see them for the pure action, NOT the acting (like DOOM) which is probabaly why some people think he sucks, but others like him, his movies only appeal to certain groups, much like Ahnuld!

Arnold is awesome, if you don't believe me, watch Terminator, and tell me it's crap.
I wouldn't get you.

The Rock doesn't star in Doom, in fact, he gets killed.
The only good video game movie I have seen is Mortal Kombat.

Dude, I love Ahnuld!!
And I hate the Rock, and I know hes not the main DOOM char, the Eomer guy from LOTR is, the rock dies?!?!?! zomg!!! U gave awayz teh secret!!
Answering to that (Getting annoying huh? What with all the discussion on the film.)

"The Rock" stars in "Doom". He is the main char in the movie ALONG with Reaper. He gets "killed" in the movie but his dead body isn't shown at the end, so there could be a sequel with him again.

P.S. Movies based on games ARENT stupid, but hating a movie for the actor is STUPIDER. What's "The Rock's" problem if he gets a part in a movie that makes him the toughest.

"NOT the acting (like DOOM)"
WTF? :eeeeeh: So what ARE movies for crying out loud? There is acting in any movie.

"Plot: 1.Mars taken over by zombies
2.Rock shoot zombies
3.Rock act corny
4.repeat #2"
Havent seen the movie and youre already commenting the plot, I tell ya - stupid... :whistle:

Chuck the plant 27-10-2005 01:43 PM

Comparing Arnold to "The Rock" is a major insult to the biggest action-star of all times. <_<

Besides, Arnold could always do more than just "be the tough guy"...
Maybe, if SOME day, Dwayne Johnson manages to star in a movie with only a QUARTER of the depth of "Conan, the barbarian", I will start to credit his work, but until then...

And if someone says "Scorpion King" now, I will add them to my "people from abandonia you'd like to meet"-list... for the whole purpose of slapping their face... <_<

Nah I'm not getting annoyed, just trying to lighten things up a bit :)

Ahhh...ok, first of all, movies based on games are not stupid, I wish to change what I said, movies based on games with limited story or no story what so ever are stupid like say....DOOM, or Halo, or Tomb Raider, or Alone in the Dark, or Resident Evil...

And I don't mean that there is no acting in DOOM, what I mean is that the acting isn't why go to see the movie, you go to see action, pure action, are you seriously telling me that if the Rock were to star in some drama or romance movie with no action whatsoever that you would go and pay to see it cause "hes a good actor"?

As for the plot, I may not have seen the movie but I still pretty much know what I'm talking about when I start a arguement, trust me, I already did a wholeeee bunch of "reasearch" on the DOOM movie when I had this arguement on another forum.

Needless to say, strange things are happening at the facility. Inhabitants are dead or missing, frayed lab coats and severed limbs are discovered, and there seems to be little explanation as to why. Long story short (and this is no spoiler for those of you familiar with the game): the facility's experiments have somehow unleashed monstrous, infernal beings and now it's up to John to save the day. That's Doom in a nutshell.

In the case of Doom, you're basically left with an Alien clone.

Marines chase and get chased by monsters in outer space. Seen Aliens? It's like that, only not as good.
Taken from Movies.com review. Basicaly, the reader reviews, and movies.com review supports my opinion, its good if you like pure action movies with gore and shooting, but bad if you want a deep involved film. There are tons of people that like action movies (myself included) which is why many people will like DOOM, there are also huge fans of the game, but the rest of us could really care less :)

I rest my case. :yawn: (meaning = tired of it).
P.S. Just finished watching "Evil Dead 2" - funny, funny... LOL
