the rights to fallout are owned by inteplay and they are part of esa, besides I'm quite sure you can still buy it...

Games that are definitely not abandoned.

Altough CD-Access shows up only 1 copy left of Fallout 1, the game would definitely be far too large for the site, weighing in well over 400 MB.

Next time please check using the search function first, so that you don't unknowingly request something that has been discussed to death a dozen times over before.

Fallout

With Fallout 3 coming out in October, I thought that I might as well ask for permission to upload the original Fallout. I didn't see it in the oldwarez list.

If not, I'll be glad to review it.

Well like. Um...er...

Im not smart, BUT to my understanding, the game is still being sold, and is about to be being sold (G.O.G) So therefore, too not have the site shut down, or have to fight legal quarals or whatever, those ppl who runz it can't upload the Game legally...

And it's probably also protected by ESA (? Not sure?)

TheChosen 20-09-2008 06:28 AM

Im not sure about the ESA protection, but as long as it being sold or supported by someone, its a definite no go.

Mr. GOG is coming to f**k it all up, so can't do.

You know, this is the curse of brilliant old games, people don't forget about them easily ;)

You should improve your typing skills.

Since Bethesda bought the rights in and to Fallout, unlimited protection applies for the series.

... unless they choose to promote the release of F3 by royally screwing over GOG and releasing Fallout 1 as freeware! :D
(Okay, given their attitude this probably won't happen. Who said, though, that we can't hope?)

fallout 3 and fallout 1 has nothing in common except the name :p
