Ah, Bubble Bobble - this is the best game in the world :D

This very version is no way the best - the original arcade machine one is the one to play (on MAME, I have never played the actual thing).

Me and my brother used to play this for hours (days?) when we were kids...and I still am a great fan :)

Try to speed up with f12 and F8

Actually you should DECREASE the speed to about 500 cycles (CTRL + F11).

Works like a charm then :ok:

Need help!

I bought my wife the GBA SP for Christmas along with Bubble Bobble New & Old. I have been on level 98 for the past 2 days and see no way of getting past it.

How in the world do I kill the highly strung monsters?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

sorry..

Never made it that far :not_ok:

if a game was originally an arcade game, the home computer/console/pc ports are never better!

if it runs to slow, look for a patch "bbfast.exe" and start with that instead of using "bubble.exe". that should do it.

There's very little difference between versions of Bubble Bobble - I have the Spectrum version - which I and a friend played 2 player religiously, crouched over the same rubber keyboard. It was a lot more innocent than it sounds.

The Mame version is of course great, being an exact emulation of the original arcade, but every version I've played plays just as well as the old Speccy number.

For arcade-style games, i think this is the ultimate classic. And possibly contains the best use of an umbrella in any game ever.

Is there a way to stop it making the sounds from my computer? The sounds are too high pitched and ive already got an ear infection :not_ok: :help:
