i have a 267Mhz CPU. The game runs fine, and i can get past the copy protection, but about 30-45 seconds into the game it just closes. any suggestions??

Perhaps you selected wrong sound-card? Select either Soundblaster Pro or Soundblaster, one of these should work and other not, I just don't remember which.

My system is a P2 300MHz, 160MB RAM with Windows XP. I tried changing sound cards and increasing EMS to 8192 but this doesnt solve the problem. Any ideas?

Sure, you should play the game in DosBox. Though, as you say your PC is P2 with 300 MHZ, you can forget that. In that case you should play the game either in true Ms-Dos (which you can forget under Windows XP completely) or buy a new fast PC, as DosBox needs at least a Pentium 3 with 1000 MHZ to run games in playable speed. ;)

I have some problems with running that in DOS
I get an error msg C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXE.NT

you should be able to upgrade to a 800 Ghz chip for cheap find someone to install it and it should be easier to run.

Bloodline, when do you get that error message? When running the game? Or when running DOS? :D

Try to be a little more specific is what I mean...I haven't had that error, but I might be able to help if you can give a little more information. :ok:

Hey all.First post, second attempt(my comp just shut down mysteriously).This might be off topic but I'll wander back trust me.I want to say what an awesome sight this is.I can't beleive I found Star Control 2 here.I've been looking for it for a long time.ok now back on topic...I have trouble too.The crack is fine I just hit enter and I'm in.Comp.stats:400 mhz processor/win98 se/sis sound and graphics cards, on-board.

I start up the game,so far so good.Then when you play it runs INCREDIBLY fast and the graphics get really messed up.If by dos-box you mean when windows is running in the background then thats what I'm running it with.Sorry but I'm not the best on compyataters.
