some of you may have noticed a portrait of x-files actor david duchovny, which
i have published earlier in this thread. there were some details in this drawing, which
i didn't like, and some of you confirmed my doubts.

this and the fact that i haven't drawn for quite awhile led to the decision to present
something new. i decided to draw another portrait of good old "fox mulder" and after
working on it during the last night i managed to finish it today.

here it is. comments are, as always, very welcome...

Well, I for my part don't like ahletic women. They're too unattractive to look beautiful, at least it's how I see it. Athletics is for men, soft beauty is for women, that was always the main direction of beauty for people in almost every age and in every country. Of course it wasn't always like that, in the Middle Ages people tended to draw ill looking women with weak proportions, but that came from the life in closed cities and weak health. ;)

And you complained about my gurl's bottom! Hypocrite. :bleh:
Great art :ok: You've reached an awesome level, you should seriously draw more often. :)

I like athletic built girls. I think it's really sexy.

And I really like your drawings ;)

taikara 02-02-2005 02:41 AM

Sigh.

I should practice more often. Amazing. :ok:

Much better, Strobe. His lips are correct now. And the rest is also great! :ok:

I'm a big fan of david duchovny so I was thrilled to see such a great portrait of him here. Thanks, Strobe. You've really captured his mystique. Just one criticism, I think his eye (on my left) is placed too high. Awesome tonal work which really adds to the feel of the Fox Mulder version of David.

I read something he said in an article recently. "You can never be too humble, because no matter how much you learn, there'll always be someone who, although younger and less-educated, will know more than you."

hi @ all!

about wendy's message:
it's great to hear that there are other people admiring the person of
david duchovny like i do! and i agree to your note about his left eye :)

as all of you are right encouraging me to practice painting more often,
i felt driven to do another try. this time i made usage of "water colors"
(don't know if this is the correct english term, but it's a direct translation of
the german expression...)

this painting is called "the three wanderers"

taikara 04-02-2005 02:05 AM

The colors... so beautiful and delicate, like a coral reef. You're amazing! :kosta:

Tom Henrik 04-02-2005 09:47 AM

My eyes litteraly popped out of my head when I saw that water-colour painting!

There is nothing I can say except that it is perfect!
