Darn, should I just do what he's supposed to do? I bet if I'd download this, in a day I could figure out what this pirate-room is...

I tried it again and it worked. I could pick up the key and book in the room after I killed the pirate. I guess the 7th time is a charm. I got through the rest of the game without any problems.
