We are going to need to know how you are mounting the game in Dosbox to be able to help you. The more information you give us the more likely we are to be able to tell you what you need to do.

Greetings,
I have placed the files that were compressed inside a folder named PRINCE, inside my usual C folder which is on a secondary hard drive (in this case D:\DOS\C). To mount the C drive, I typed 'mount c d:\dos\c', then 'cd prince' and finally executed 'prince.exe'. |
Greetings again,
I have discovered that, in order to play the copy of Prince of Persia that I downloaded from here, I had to mount the PRINCE folder as the C drive. I owned Prince of Persia (two years ago the floppy busted and lost the original files) and I never experienced issues like this one with DOSBox. IIRC, on my old 486 the game was installed at C:\PRINCE, which maybe has contributed to this mistake. Sorry to waste your time and thanks. |
Odd, that's not happening to me.

Just a quick post to point Prince of Persia 1 fans to apoplexy, a free Prince of Persia 1 level editor. I've created an informational video recently. Downloads are available for both GNU/Linux and Windows.

greatest game ever
For me it was also a first game I have ever played! I was a five year old when my father bought the game and he never passed it. I believe I was one of the first Polish to accomplish it in early 1991, just within 3 weeks since I started playing. I used to play it with joystick also- most of people didn't know what is "mouse" yet (that good old DOS times). I used to dream about all those things in the game. Princess, Jaffar and brave prince. And now when I see this intro, and this music which seems heavy- it is so full of memories.... ahhhh... priceless!! There is no other game like this, and I played hundreds of good games at that times: alley cat, captain comic, stargoose, another world.... prince is the best!

Even now I am able to pass PP for about 40 minutes.. If exercise I will reach 35 minutes, hurried without new life. :whistling: PP2 is so-so game. PP3 is not good at all. I finished to play PP3 when my protagonist started to up and up jumping like monkey. :hihihi: |
I liked PP2 a lot, the sword fights are better and harder, the game is longer and more varied.

This part is good in puzzles, story, controll, graphic and even sound(!). You can't tell that about the second one. |
