Donnie Darko rules - I'm not sure about the Director's Cut though, it loses a lot of the intriguing mystery. I'd also mention Almost Famous, Amelie, Shaun of the Dead, Being John Malkovich, Belleville Rendez-vous, The Incredibles, Human Traffic and The Big Lebowski. But there's plenty more too...

The Waking Life, followed by classics like Clockwork Orange, Donnie Darko, American Beauty, Run Lola Run, Requiem for a Dream, etc.
