I have had this /similar conversation about the moon like 10s of times and I am too fed up with the details. One example out of my head is about the american flag waving "but how can it be without wind on the moon?" but they forget you know, BASIC LAWS of physics. I don't know how exactly it goes in english but a rough saying would be, every object remains in its state untill there is a force exercised on it that makes it change. Take it from there if you wish.
Solar wind?

Well, for those who actualy do not know them, it is the first of the Newton's laws. Copy and Paste bring this: An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

:D

America did in fact land on the moon. America had the technology and the ambition to land on the moon, and why would they lie if they could get someone on the moon instead?

Besides, Japan is looking into a moon landing soon, and once they do it'll shut up all of those conspiracy theorists.

Solar Wind?
Solar wind is a stream of high speed ionized particles that came from the sun's corona. Solar wind is more likely to damage a space ship than push it around.

Also, in order for a ship to move around in space, it requires thrust. The thrust will increase the ship's velocity, which moves it in the opposite direction that the thrust is released in. Remember freshman physics?

Triton, I think, as he is a homophobe.

But that's not a matter that we should go into in this thread. Back to the moon (which I beleive humans did land on).

If nothing else, I'm posting this so I can for probably the first time agree with Triton.

Yes - the NASA astronouts did make a landing on the moon.
The photos might have been edited so they'd look better, but the landing it self did happen!

The only reason FOX TV is running such documentaries is because the moon landings were taking place with democrat presients not republicans :bleh:

The problem is not "who landed on moon and when", but "who will take the control of the moon?".

The planes are ready and all was waiting that it will became economically convenient!

Think about it: who will have a moon base is going to be able to launch from there ships wasting little energy (and they could do whatever they want on the other side of the moon... hide  )

Havell 03-07-2005 07:46 PM

What useful resources are on the moon? Bugger all, that's what. Unless a world shortage of grey rock and dust occurs. It will never be economically viable to exploit the moon (except for tourism).

Danny252 03-07-2005 07:50 PM

what if we run out of bugger all? can we import it from the moon then?
