Oh, sorry, I didn't know you don't know the 10-years-rule. It applies only to games of subsidiaries of ESA companies. We don't have a minimum-age-rule anymore, practically. But wherefrom comes the 2008?

[edit] Btw: I mentioned the 10-years-rule explaining why there are ESA-protected games on site, so I thought that should be clear. [/edit]

Blood-Pigggy 27-08-2007 07:04 PM

But it is protected by a company, because they HAVE the rights to resell the games, including Re-Volt, isn't this making any sense? I don't think a company necessarily needs to be part of the ESA companies to have this sort of rules applied to them.

They didn't put the updates on there for show, it's just like how the Commander Keen games weren't available earlier (ignore the fact that they're on Steam now).

We are on an abandonware site! Don't say you are here since early 2005, wrote 2381 counting posts and some reviews, and still don't know, what we are doing here!?

Blood-Pigggy 27-08-2007 07:21 PM

I know what we're doing here, and the issue of Re-Volt being suitable for this site has been brought up multiple times, I took the screen shots and wrote the review myself.

What I'm saying makes PERFECT sense, it's still being sold!
Not on sites, but in retail stores, almost all of those games are back in print, didn't I just mention it in a post above?

If you can prove this, the game will be removed, of course.

If I managed to take a PICTURE of the thing in my nearest Best Buy with the copyright symbol marking that it was published this year would that do it?

Luchsen 27-08-2007 07:39 PM

Yes, but that would be very weird since Throwback states on their site that they didn't re-release it yet.

Blood-Pigggy 27-08-2007 07:41 PM

It's one of those "Classics" boxes that you see around the place, I don't know if it was Throwback, but I know for a fact that it came out recently.

Found no information that it is "public domain" ( ) or something like that, so it is:

Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy | 2000 | Atari | [REJECTED: ESA]

Protected till 2016.
