I know the game works except you can't cut the scenes...

Anyway, did you install the game before running the "fixed" EXE? Did you do what I said about compatibility (it has nothing to with fixing the file!)?

Striderzin 07-12-2006 05:07 PM

Yes, I have installed before running the fixed exe..and yes, I have set Win98 compatibility and disabled virtual themes..

So you have a new CD, without the soundtrack (maybe the game looks for it), but with a "fixed" EXE?

Now try without compatibility at all or with it but with other combinations.

Forget the need for a fixed EXE. Turns out it's easier than anyone could have have imagined!

Sorry all, I've just found this thread after searching for not a short time.

Does anyone have the problem as I do? the installation was less than 1 second long, and the folder of the game does not contain anything but an uninstall file, a text file and a .hqr file. And I tried any solution that you gave but nothing happens. Is it because of the installation?

btw, the PE explorer is the only way I cant figure out how it work, if my prob isnt because of the installation, someone can explain how this PE work in this case plz?

I was hoping that would be readme. Drat. *^_^

Did the installer create a shortcut to running the game in the Start Menu or on your desktop? Right-click that shortcut and choose "properties". Where does it point to (file/location)?
It's possible that the game only "installed" a minimum amount of data on your hard drive, and the rest is loaded from CD. It wasn't uncommon in that time period, given how large amount of data you could store on a CD compared to a hard drive (yay for 2 GB hard drives!)
