Hey guys, long time fan of flashback here. I downloaded the one off of your site and it plays just fine, the only thing i can't work out is the sound. It sounds nothing at all like the mac version (actual gun shots and so on) so im guessing something is wrong with it.

I'll post my settings:

Code:

***Flashback PC Configuration**V 1.1
*
SFX = 1
MUSIC = 0
JOY = 2
***Configured on**13/09/107

I've tried using the soundblaster sound option, but it won't let me.
What can i do? Thanks for an awesome site!

Are you running the game in DOS, Windows or DOSBox?

Thanks! I did this, but when i try to enable ingame sound there is no change, and if i look in the ingame menu to see if anything even was saved, its still set to OFF.

EDIT:
OK, try this:
1. Run Install and go to Configuration
2. Sound FX -> Sound Blaster
3. Music -> Adlib / Sound Blaster
4. Return (Save setting? -> Yes)
5. Quit and run the game

I'm afraid that doesn't work... I saw your post about IRQ and whatnot earlier, but i couldn't reply. At any rate, the settings you advised me to use were the default settings for sound blaster, and would'nt work. Could it be it's just me and my sound card?

Clear the Read-only attribute from the game directory and any files in it.
Also, crank up the spund volume in Windows. Flashback's music and sound aren't too loud, so if your sound volume is low they may be too weak to hear.

That's strange, it's indeed "read only" but whenever i uncheck that box and accept the settings made to the folder, that doesn't stick. It's like the read-only is read-only. Time paradox!

I downloaded the CD version of Flashback and it was everything i remembered down to the sound, except for the 3d cutscenes. Thanks for all your help horseman! I suppose it wasn't meant to work for me! :P
