Very good game, one of the first space shooters i played (came free with a magazine).
The review is ok, but there are some mistakes.
Particulary when it says:
Quote:

While you're shooting, your shiny yellow bullets look a lot like the enemy projectiles which makes it difficult to dodge them. Things get even worse when you get the stronger power-ups as the weapons only fill up more of the screen, making dodging nearly impossible.[/b]
This is wrong, they don't look like the enemie projectiles! (wich are small orange balls, big shiny blue laser rays, big shiny blue balls, huge transparent bubbles...). Plus, you only get confused at level 5, and that is because the background is of the redish-pinkish-orangish colors AND most of the enemies and their bullets too. Add to that the amount of enemies wich is overwelming.

This game tricks and lies to you. The first level is RIDICULOUSLY easy, but then once you get to the second level, it seems to switch tracks, and it gets incredibly difficult, with almost no screen room to dodge, yet the boss seems to be an uber wimp.[/b]
To this i have to say: try the easiest difficulty setting :P it only gets real tough in stage 4. Once you get used to the levels and use the right powerups, you can go up to stage 4 or 5 without losing a single life. Still, it is an unbalanced game regarding difficulty but my point is, what the reviewer wrote makes it look like it were an impossible game to finish, wich is not true.
oh BTW! there are two extra lifes at stage one, and at least another one at stage 2.

When you get to the weapons, it seems nice at first, but there's a very slim line of power-ups. You can get some extra support turrets, an intense lazer beam, or a spread of projectiles that go off in all directions, but it's all the same.[/b]
The powerups are lacking, but there are two power ups wich are very useful: fire cobra and fire ball. Fire ball is actually kinda wimpy... but fire cobra is truly something, anyway both release big fireballs, and they get rid of some of the enemie bullets (if i remember correctly, the orange balls and the blue balls).
Also, the support turrets can absorb some enemie bullets (only the orange ones, i think).

I love it when someone with a passion comes out of the wood works to defend their old favorate. It's how I became a regular here.

I just noticed that some joker (editor) thought it would be funny to replace my grammatically correct "its" with "it's".

(It is right, right? When you say "the monkey tucked its tail in between his legs" instead of "the monkey tucked it's tail in between his legs")

Sorry BP, the apostrophe still means it takes ownership, so whether it's abbreviated for "it is" or "it" being the owner, both ways it's "it's". heh heh

Actually I was correct, its is possessive, otherwise it would have no purpose.

It's only translates to "it is" or sometimes "it has" you can't make it "own" something.

For example, this "I give this game props for it's great value when it comes to sound." doesn't make any sense, and it's what I was talking about, I wasn't referring to all of the "it's" I think there's a few more as well.

I really must stop being surprised when AB comes up with a game I'd thought I'd lost forever. Very simple game, fun to play, but darn hard bosses!

Funny memories with this game - me and my little brother used to play the music (via the main menu) as background for our Foosball games. Intense. Fun as fun could be...even if I usually got my butt kicked. :doh2:
