Are you sure it was a DOS game (or PC game)? Perhaps it had emulator build in...

Your description mostly matches Ghosts'n'Goblins (the graveyard and pile of bones when you die), so perhaps you try looking the game as GNG clone

Do check all Castlevania games.

Also, here are some C64 titles: Super Dragon Slayer, Sword and the Rose, Beyond the Ice Palace, Dragon's Kingdom

Mmm..., maybe "Horror Zombies from the Crypt"?

Well, parts of it remind me of Zombies ate my Neighbors, except for the side scrolling part. Also.. maybe Baron Baldric?

Nah ive played zombies ate my neighbors and Ive seen the screenshots for baron baldric...Ive also played horror zombie from the crypt and actually thats probably the closest match to the game..

One thing I do remember is that the playable character was dressed in like a greek guy..sandals and all...In the beginning an old guy sends you on a mission (almost like in altered beast..."riiise from your grave" except he says something else)

I literally have looked at every screenshot on all of the major Abandonware sites to no avail

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys..ill keep looking I guess!

OK wild guesses: Lost City of Atlantis, Gods, Risky Woods, Stormlord, Cold Dreams

Are you 100% sure it is DOS game? Or PS game at least? Because other platforms have large pool to look in... Like Amiga scrollers, since Shdow of the Beast looked something like that.

Some Amiga examples from the list: Torvak, Odyssey, Lionheart, Dragons Kingdom, Death Trap, Cedric, Ghost Battle, GNG2, FlyFighter

Marko,

Lost City Of Atlantis is kinda looks like it im going to download now....100% sure it was a DOS game for sure. I just remember the players life bar being a candle and starting off in like a graveyard or woods and the enemies shot arrows at you and something to do with a ring....anyway its been x amount of years ive been looking for it.
