Now that I think 'bout it .... I would probably go back to late 70'ies early 80'ies and give myself some extremely violent buttkicks.

Then I would tell myself to sell my car -(and if needed my house)- and buy a 1% share in that new Cie Microsoft, when we first heard of it on the BBSs we all thought it wouldn't last long, seriously, who needed a bootable disk when you have all that space on ROMs ...... what a weird idea, bootable disks ....

Not to interfere or anything, just to get that 1%.

If I had access to a working time machine, I'd destroy it.
With things so tempting and incalculably dangerous, any hands are wrong hands.

well, altering your own history could be dangerous, making you parents rich or helping yourself find that girl you fell in love with again (see Back to the Future series for examples) could change too much of it to completely screw it up. I myself would go back to 1979 and buy like 10 copies of the original Akalabeth from Richard Garriott, couldnt be too much risk in that :)

Those 10 missing copies will be the reason the AppleII will never become popular, cause those 10 gamers that otherwise had play it will never know it.
One of those 10 would become a gaming addict and a major investor in Unix/Linux/Mac.

So your little incursion in the past will be the reason that we ALL are on Windows now.....

I hate you.

Yeah. My family call my Mac a 'Cr'apple computer. Damn Windows.

I'd travel forward in time one milisecond after I traveled back in time, yes back, by back I mean I traveled back in time then at the exact milisecond after I traveled back in time I'd travel forward in time inside the time machine where I am currently using it in the future one milisecond into it. Therefore I'd be stuck in an infinite loop.

Ka'swish Negroes, next please.

what if one of guys seen you and said "jesus christ what a loser buys this game, i'm not gonna buy it", then nobody'd buy that game, richard gorriot'd commit a suicide, then everybody who seen it'd commit a suicide too, cause it was really really ugly. and you have 12 DEATHS ON YOUR HANDS

edit: wow, actually 4 people managed to make a post while i was writing mine

I don't think it'd matter much since like 10 copies of Akalabeth were sold in plastic baggies in a nearby hardware store close to his home. You'd probably just buy the ones that he sold before anyone else did which might inflate his ego a little more than it already became back then.

Or maybe it would have prevented him from creating the atrocities that were U8 and U9.

You never know.

Also, no time travel theory in this thread. It's crap, it's not even fun to read or argue about, every body argues about the Donnie Darko retard theory or the Back to the Future buttcakes theory or the Terminator shitnanny theory. No one cares, the only theory there is is the one that Einstein made while taking salvia and chewing on quids of processed fetal syrups.

or maybe you overagrued about it. for a newbie it'd be fun =P

I'm a simple person. I'd go back in time and ride on the back of a dinosaur, then I'd go forward in time and ride on a laser-shooting robot. I'd also probably stop off in between and go dancing at a smoky jazz bar in Berlin during in the Wiemar republic, and perhaps make a detour in Aquitaine to tell Eleanor that she rocked.

That's because they were using the time machine.
