Though the word was originally a sentence, it was combined into a single word for the effect equal to an onomatopoeia. Some speculate that "gandy" could actually be referring to "Ghandi," yet others speculate that it was meant to utter the Christian god's name in vain. Regardless, it's a word that often makes men cringe in pain at the thought of its origin.

Ah, the lapshaddy!

Haven't seen them used for quite a while. They were really popular in the late sixties and early seventies on nudist beaches. They were there to provide the shade for your lap, so your manly body parts which should remain as cold as possible, would not get too heated up by the sun while sunbathing.

In the eighties they wanted to reuse the word by saying it's a sort of shades you should wear while having a lap dance - so you could detect if the dancer has natural breasts or "silly-cone", but the usage never caought on.

The use of lapshaddy: Honey, can you give me my lapshaddy so my ballballs don't boil, please!
