The path in your config file must be "C:\SAVE" if you mount your cok directory as C:\.

dosraider, thank holy hell for you! Clueless folks like me owe your ilk to no end! ROCK!

You're welcome.
:) That will be 20€, THX, I accept paypal. :hypocrite: |
Now that I've created & saved characters, it won't let me add them. I try in order to create the party and begin the game, but when selected/clicked, nothing happens at all.
|
Anyone can help? DOSbox running good on this game until I go to "ADD CHARACTER TO THE PARTY" it does absolutely zilch.

I guess the game never saved your characters. Did you follow dosraider's advice to put the game folder into your personal folder ?
You don't have to enter the mount command manually every time you start dosbox (the path will be tool long to enter manually), dosbox has a config file where you can enter the commands which shall be executed each time you start it. |
I guess not. It seemed like it did, but then again I know **** about this stuff. What would be the command text to type (or a general structure I could understand & base off of) if I were to dump it all into a personal folder? Originally I was just going off of C drive with the commands good'ol dosraider provided and when I didn't get an error message and it took me back to the main menu I figured it was fine and went ahead setting up my other characters too. I thought it did save the characters, but just wouldn't allow any sort of beginning to the game, not even by just starting with default characters. Same trouble Guest_tabukat_*, Stauf1186, goatunit , and the above quoted guest were having. But, if that were the case, I should be able to see some kind of file for each character in the save folder, right? I recall being able to do that with Dark Queen back in the day. But, having checked the Save folder for cok, there's nada. *palm/forehead* Crap.

Drag/drop your whole \oldgames\ folder and the underlaying game folders in it in
c:\users\your name\ Run dosbox and: mount c "c:\users\your name\oldgames\" c: ... etcetera, rest of the inputs are the same. The " " are only needed if your user name is + 8 chars or has spaces. But they won't hurt anyway. Good luck. |
MAN!
No dice. Definitely in the right place, definitely typing the right path, but no matter what DOSBox tells me the directory doesn't exist.
