Looks like I won't be called out on this mission, so I'm gonna fire up the grill. Who wants a burger?

The burgers are done! I'll just leave them in the break room for anyone who's hungry. Beef, your kipper has to smoke for quite a while, so if you survive the mission, it should be done by the time you get back. If you don't survive, we'll cremate it along with your body so you can enjoy it for all eternity.

Mission 4: Terror site-1. Melbourne, Australia

The Skyranger lands at the site, next to a road.

- Alright people, listen up! This is a terror site, so our top priority is to save those civilians.
BeefontheBone - Shouldn't killing the aliens be our top priority? I mean, the civilians are dead to begin with.
- Well yes, but that's not the point! We've got to clear this city out of all the alien scum. Also, this is a night mission, so proceed with extreme caution and keep your eyes wide open, you wouldn't want to mistake a civilian for an alien.
*laughter*
- Ok, everyone move out. Go go go!

BeefontheBone moves out first, immediatly being shot at the minute he steps on the landing ramp. Luckily none of the shots hit. He fires back but has the same luck as the alien.
TheChosen immediatly runs out and fires a Heavy Cannon round at it, but it doesn't kill it.
A1s comes out next and wastes the alien full of lead with his Auto Cannon.

Duckpatch and ReamusLQ head north but spot nothing.

Lots of plasma shots are heard and civilians dance.

ReamusLQ and Duckpatch keep heading north, TheChosen and A1s take the east side, BeefontheBone and Spookyfish head northeast and Overlord goes southeast.
Nothing spotted.

A plasma shot heads for A1s, but only zaps the wall right next to him.
He moves out, spots the alien that tried to kill him and blasts it away.

One small advice that will reduce number of casualties: Wait 'till daylight and then send the troops on the mission. Night missions can be tough.

Yeah, I never fight night missions, I always wait until morning (occasionlly sending intercepters to the the terror/crash site to make sure it doesn't disappear before morning).

I didn't know about this game.. I'd like to join in if it's not too late. I have never played the UFO Games.. I tried to play them before had trouble and didnt bother fixing them.... its a cool concept though.

Let me know If I can participate.

A1s takes another step and ZAP, is hit by a plasma shot from the northeast. It doesn't kill him, however, it causes 1 fatal wound which means he'll die in 17 turns if the mission doesn't end by then.
He throws a flare which reveals the bastard alien. TheChosen fires a shot from miles away and yet kills him! He really is the chosen one ;)

ReamusLQ is shot at while moving north. He spots the alien and fires an auto shot with his laser rifle, but misses. The alien takes advantage of this and fires again, hitting him and causing 3 fatal wounds. (ETD: 8 turns)
- Argh... now I'm pissed!
He fires another auto shot, and once again misses, only managing to fry some kitchen utensils on the nearby house.

Overlord moves south-east and spots some sort of dinasour alien.
- Holy s***, what the f*** is that?
He fires his laser rifle and fries the thing.
