I have an older system, Windows 98 SE so I don't have the
problems more modern systems have with this game, there
may be suggestions in the earlier posts here, or on Source
Forge, which sometimes has good technical info.

Hi,
Sorry I have not had a chance to see about the problems you
mention with Kyrandia III, I have played the game but not
the full version that is now up on the site, just more limited
versions, and my old Windows 98 SE was fine with it, but it
did not have the sound files and all that to challenge it, I was
hoping to try it out today but have not had the time yet,
I will try over the weekend if I can. Don't despair, some of the
masters of the site may chime in, hopefully. :kosta: :ok: :ok:
It is great that the admins have given us all the files on this
one, even though I don't like Malcom as much as Zanthia
or the Prince in the earlier games. They did go way out there
with the imagery in this game and the various tests, and
puzzles and labirynths are great. There is even a part of the game
where you come back to the same place but it is a differnt time
of day, that is really unusual for early games.
hopefully more soon.
:ok:

Hi Folks! i've just tried your version of Kyrandia 3 from your site, which works pretty well under linux 2.6.12-rc2 with BOTH dosbox-0.63 AND dosbox cvs. i use dosboxfe as configuration/profiling interface. :help: however, things work 2 good a bit: the (spoken) text of the characters are going over far too fast! i just see a text for around 2 or 3 frames and then it's gone wich leaves the game pretty unplayable and the text unreadable! i've played around with several options including speed reduction through less cpu utilization, reducing the amount of cpu cycles etc... but all with no luck! i'm playing kyrandia 1 and 2 absolutely perfectly, with no problems at all (fast, stable, flawless), but kyrandia 3 makes my head ache...

I'd like some help about this, i you folks know what to do...

thx...

Hmm... well, i think i was right - the trouble was caused by the missing speech files! Today i gave the version from underdogs a try (which was really pain in the behind to "install" under linux, requiring to emulate 2 different systems...) however, i did it and i went good! The speech sounds now play, the text is readable, the game playable. But not always, some times even this versions seems to stop playin any speech and then shows exactly the same symptoms. Anyways, this is no major issue, since this problem may be dealt with (simply restart dosbox and you'r fine) ...

I'm stuck!
please can someone let me know how to get some light into the cavern on the isle of cats? It's in the dog fort in a log (The hole on the right hand side of the scrren).
I have all of the collosus gems and have the leather mouse-I know what to do with them. What I don't know is the order in which to place the stones in the giant cats. I know you find this sequence out down in this hole (That Malcolm decides to fall to his bloody and horrible death down every time!)

Please help me as I'm going mental trying to work it out and I know it's gonna be so simple! :help:

you need to go right twice from the fort of the dogs - there you need to cut all the plants on the right border of this screen. you will unleash a hole in the ground there. From there on you will have light down there.
later on you will need the magic mouse to get the stuff down there fully enlighted.

 my least favorite part of this game, which is my number
three choice of the three kyrandias (dare we hope someday
for a fourth??) :bye: is the jungle, what a frustrating time
it can be, as everything appears to be backwards, I suspect that
the algorythmn the designers used actually when you exit one side
of the screen, in the jungle, you appear at the opposite side of the next
screen, i have not figured it out totally yet, i got all the way
through and even had the special item to allow you to visit the
pirate ship and then got killed and had not saved soon enough in the
game NUTS so now i have to go back all the way and do it all
over again........ah well, but the one neat thing about Kyrandia III
is the change in time of day, you start out ini daylight on Kyrandia
proper, and then when Malcom gets back, it is NIGHT, very cool

ta ta,

:ok:
