Eagle of Fire Since you started a new topic here on the troubleshooting forum I'm gonna ignore the email you sent to me LafayetteGamer. Creating a topic here was a good move since you can be sure I will eventually read it and others can help out too and most of the time faster.

Like Anubis said, use DOSBox in Windows XP. Since it's an old game I don't think you should have problem running it even if you laptop is not too powerfull.

For more informations you could also look here first.

Rogue For all DOS titles on XP you need either to use DOSBox or VDMSound. Both programs are available on abandonia. Also there is instruction on how to set up DOSBox.

I never tried CIV Advanced (even I love all civ games).

I might give it a shoot later.

LafayetteGamer My Desktop, which runs Windows98, runs and plays Advanced Civilization just fine but my laptop, which runs WindowsXP, runs the game well but with now sound and it fills the screen too much as if things are a little bit magnified.....therefore I cannot "click" on the right buttons to play the game effectively. I have already gone to "My Computer" and reset the resolution of the screen and compatability for Windows 95. The icons on the screen have all become smaller as expected but when I bring up the game in a Dos Window to play it, again the images on the screen are too large for me to effectively play the game. I know there are several buttons to click on and goods to trade with but they are off the viewable sides of the screen...mostly the bottom of the screen.

Suggestions?? I am a music teacher and not computer knowledgeable at all.
