I don't remember if it was due to some particular game or games because they just sent a similar warning email to all the abandonware sites operative then. A lot of sites just removed the games published by IDSA members, but I completely closed it down. In fact, IDSA was not the only REASON that made me shutdown the site, there were few other reasons, which I'm afraid I can't discuss in public forums. Btw, one of those reasons is quite active in this very forum especially in "Requests." I hope you understand my point. **WINK** |

You can always "update" your reviews with few more sentences! (something about graphics, sounds, gameplay....and you're in!) |

There are those who missed out on Dos gaming completely first time round but have finally got the chance to experience it. They probably download games based on the review, i know I do. I only missed out on Dos Gaming because my parents wouldn't buy a computer. When I finally got a computer in 1998 it was pretty much too late! Now I'm finally able to play all the games I would have played years ago. To me, most of these games might as well be brand new because I've never heard of a huge proportion of them! How am I to know what to play without a good and thorough review. And I think you'd find that group to be more 'major' than you expect. There are a good few members in their early teens who, no offence, are hardly old enough to remember Dos. There are probably also a lot of people like myself who didn't have computers then. Also, I think the quality of reviews is what makes this site better than every other abandonware site and I think short, half-hearted reviews generally look s***! Sorry about the :ranting: , I just needed to get that out of my system. |

GraveDigger | Well, hit me for this but I was talking about major groups not a handful of individuals.

Then there is yet the other group of which I belong who wish to experience all the great classic gems of each genres to know what he is talking about. |

einherjar | And then there is the third group, which downloads games just for the sake of reviewing them.

Actually, the fact is that we are dealing with old-skool games - games we've already played when they first came around. As far as I know only two kind of groups download these games. The first is the Players group, who already played these games in their hay days and just want to rejoice the fun. The other one is the collectors group that download each and every game just to increase their collection count. Now, the first group already knows what the game is and the second group doesn't bother to know about it. |
