Billy, thanks a lot!
Geez, all I did was ask if I could get adlib to work, and look what happened.

Japo Got it, replaced the archive with credit, POEs on their way.

kryt3n It's up. Run PLAY.BAT to start, then select graphics and sound options from menu. BTW, the keyboard controls listed on the site don't mention Ctrl-Q to restart/quit.

Japo Canned PM sent. Let me know when it's up.

OK, how to get it to you?

The Fifth Horseman Hm. As a side result, I found that this game and Robocop are both messed up in DOSBox 0.74 (completely nonsensical PC Speaker output, Robocop freezes randomly and this one doesn't react to being run in ADL mode, at one try it actually requested a disc two).

And running Castlevania with Adlib sound is indeed an improvement of several orders of magnitude over the speaker sound.

Japo If you can get the complete version for us, we're interested in replacing the incomplete one we have.

kryt3n The copy of Castlevania on Abandonia, and other places, is incomplete. It's missing the menu program that lets you choose sound options and runs the game with the necessary parameters so you don't have to remember what they are. It's also missing the CGA and Tandy executables, and the Tandy sound driver. I guess it's understandable that the menu program was discarded when there was only one game executable left to run. Thank the group that released the game. Anyway, Tandy sound works in DOSBox, and is a nice alternative to AdLib.

Japo I don't know about the versions, the one we have does have Adlib sound. However: note that the "ADL" parameter is case-sensitive, "adl" won't do. Horseman, if you want to edit the review... For now I've just added a "how to run" section, this information is important.

Billy, thanks a lot!

Don't knock yourself, I didn't know until i looked up game footage on youtube, and apparently only a few versions of the pc game even have that feature, so I might not even be able to get it to work
