Tuttle Still no good. It shows the title screen, then gets to 'Enter your name:' and freezes completely. And if I make a batch file to run 'racing -cfg me' it does the same thing at the menu. Even with sound disabled completely, and with or without the patch.

Kosta Works like a dream with VDMSound! You should try it!

Kosta I also have Big Red Racing and I remember it ran properly in windows, but without sound. I will try it again now with VDM Sound and see what happens there! I'll keep you posted, if it works, perhaps there will be a good soul to write a review for it out there? Not that I'm suggesting anyone

Tuttle I've got an old Big Red Racing CD here (used to love having LAN games at school ), and it has both DOS and Windows versions. Unfortunately I can't get it to work much. So far I've tried:

DOS version in Windows XP: Starts, but freezes at the name entry screen. Even the text doesn't shake like normal.

Windows version in Windows XP: Windows complains it's not a valid Win32 application.

DOS version in DOSBox: Starts, but anything with 3D objects like the vehicle selection screen and the races is unplayably jerky. I have a P4 3 GHz with 1 GB of RAM and was using 20000 cycles, so I don't think it's just my machine's spec.

Has anyone had better results than these?
