I don't think the original poster is still watching it. Many people have problems with 0.65 as well with archon ultra. I hope that the next version will improve the compatibility. |

Hi all, i had problems with archon ultra, too (on XP Pro, 2.4 GHz, Laptop). Did not work with dosbox .63, even with the tweaks suggested here. Then i switched to dosbox .65 and tadaaa! Works fine. Every time. Sound seems to work even less stuttery with cpu cycles above 8000. good luck! |

I wrote that review so maybe I can help. The Archon Ultra discussion topic is filled with this sort of thing. Aparently getting the settings correct is only one part of making the game work. There is also an aspect of luck. Some people get it to run 1 out of 10 times, some 1 out of 7. My personal experience is when I do the settings described it works 9 out of 10 times, but there's still that one time where nothing has changed but the game doesn't run. I suggest adding the following to the very bottom of your dosbox.conf: Code:
mount c [I]c:\archonultrapath[/I] c: archon1 |

Hello there, i have recently downloaded the Archon Ultra game and i cant seem to get it to run in dosbox. Ive changed the settings in the config file to what it says on the games discription but the game just crashes when i try to run it. Is anyone else having a similar problem? and can anyone help me (my knolage of dosbox is very limited BTW.). Cheers. |
