| TheOldMan | I always thougt this was the father of LSL1, nice to have it verified. In answer to complaints, it's a very OLD pre-PC game, also a TEXT ONLY game. Good mostly for it's nostalgia value. The year given for the PC version is 1991. The game is much older than that. I had a copy (don't know where I got it, certainly didn't buy it) for my Atari 800 which I quit using in 1989. I would guess 1987 for the Atari version. I found it amusing at the time but then as now I didn't have enough time to play every game. And by the way, I wonder if there is a connection here. The game was published by On Line Systems and Sierra became Sierra On-Line. |

Tried playing this but it just seems so primitive by the standards of modern IF (or even AIF, which is generally sneered at) that I couldn't really stay interested. Minimal descriptions, objects that can't be examined, the need to type out 'examine' over and over again, etc. Funny that I can play an older game with awful graphics and still love every minute of it, but the same can't be said for an older IF game. I guess it's because text is the same today as it was back then, and you can't really excuse poor writing on the grounds of technology. |
