cucuzza OK, here we go with another game. Sorry if I'm being annoying. I just found all these old games I used to play back in the day and I'm getting excited. I have Duke Nukem 2, everything is set up and stuff (DOSBox and VDMSound), but it still doesn't play the effects of say like shooting the gun or explosions. The same case is for Xargon. Any ideas?

Eagle of Fire It's always case by case. First thing to do is to run the setup file of the game and make sure it's either configurated to Soundblaster or Compatible or PC Speaker. DOSBox emulate Soundblaster even if you don't have a Soundblaster card installed in your computer tower.

If it still doesn't work, you can always come back here and ask for more help.

cucuzza Yes, I've used both. That one works, but then other games don't work in terms of sound. An example is Lemmings 1. What do I do?

Eagle of Fire Did you try to use DOSBox or VDMSound?

cucuzza Hello everyone,

Let me start off by saying what a great site you guys have. Anyways, I'm having some problem running Lemmings 2: The Tribes. I've extracted everything, but whenever I try executing "L2.EXE" (the game file) I get an 16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem error message stating:

"An application has attempted to directly access the hard disk, which cannot be supported. This may cause the application to function incorrectly. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application."

I've run the install.exe. I don't know what to do. I'm running Windows XP SP2. Any ideas?
