The game should work with DosBox 0.60 and don't give a divide error.

I had no problems running MUDS both in .61 and .63. This newspost concerns the old .58 version. The post is about 2 years old, anyway. [/b][/quote]
Yes, but i said that it worked in 0.60 because probably he used a too old dosbox version.

It says that the game crashes when SB (what is it?) is enabled.

I think it stands for Sound Blaster.

Hi again. I have a severe prob with some of the old games.
1. MUDS: Says on the board that it is compatible with DOSBox, but i get a "DIVIDE ERROR" when starting the Game. I tried with and without sound, EMS/ XMS on/off.
Won't Run. (the error MSG comes from the game, not from DOSBox).
2. THE HORDE: Just won't start, whatever I do and tweak.
3. Privateer: I tried the already mentioned EMS off and everything of the above, without effect (DOSBox crashs)
4. UFO 1+2: DOSBox just crashes, like above, whatever I do.
And several others I forgot right now. (quite many!)
I have to say that I'm not a DOS-Newb (or Noob, for that matter), and that the biggest part of my old games run pretty well. Also, I have downloaded all the above mentioned Games here on Abandonia.
THX for any help you might post.
Addition: I run WindosME on a 600MHZ Pentium III. (If that matters for my probs)
oooops! I just recognized that i MAY have an out-of-date version of DOSBox...
I leave this post here, though, in case some of the probs aren't solved with the new version i just downloaded...

1) M.U.D.S.: check HERE. The game should work with DosBox 0.60 and don't give a divide error.
2) The Horde: check HERE. It says that the game crashes when Sound Balster is enabled.
3) Privateer and UFO 1&2: check on the site. There are solutions to many problems.
Hope this helps.

DOSBox is built for the newer operating systems based on a NT kernel (Win2000, XP). Running WinME, which is based on the older Win95/98 engine, will often cause problems with DOSBox. You should try to run the game in pure DOS mode or install a second OS like DOS 7.10. If you want to use DOSBox, go for Win2k.

I am against getting w2k since there are problems with older software and games.
For UFO, which version of the game do you use? If you use the gold or collectors edition, you might want to try running the games directly from windows...

You have outdated OS too. Win98 is much better choice or Win2K for that computer.
